“Ernie's Crabs offers a classic Maryland seafood experience centered around fresh, steamed blue crabs, creating a unique and interactive family meal. The entertainment lies in the communal act of cracking and savoring the crabs in a relaxed atmosphere. Costs depend on market prices, making it a special occasion treat. Weekday evenings during crab season often provide a less crowded experience for indulging in this beloved local delicacy.
It's an experience best enjoyed at a relaxed pace, allowing for plenty of storytelling and laughter between cracking sessions. The fun truly lasts as long as the crabs do!
The cost of indulging in Ernie's Crabs depends on the market price of crabs, which can fluctuate seasonally. Ordering by the dozen or half-bushel is common, and the price will vary accordingly. While it might not be an everyday meal, it's a worthwhile splurge for a taste of Maryland tradition and a unique family outing. The value lies not just in the food itself, but in the experience – the freshness, the atmosphere, and the shared enjoyment.
The best times to visit Ernie's Crabs often depend on your preference for atmosphere and crowd levels. Weekday evenings can be a good option to avoid the weekend rush. Crab season typically runs from spring through late fall, with the peak season often offering the best availability and prices. Calling ahead to check on crab availability and current pricing is always a wise move, especially during busier times. Ultimately, any time you can gather with loved ones to enjoy fresh Maryland crabs from Ernie's is a good time!“

“I was surprised that Red Lobster brought back Endless Shrimp after they lost millions on it two years ago, but I'm glad they did. The garlic shrimp scampi was my favorite. Coconut shrimp and shrimp alfredo were a bit heavy but decent for a try. It was a good thing that the biscuit was not very tasty haha.“

“Went on a Sunday for brunch. The food was delicious! I tried two different types of deviled eggs. The mimosas were perfect! The staff and chef were very friendly. Besides my friend and I there were only 2 other customers. Not sure if it was just a slow Sunday but hopefully the business picks up, definitely will go back“

“Ok every since they have upgraded to NEW MANAGMET OMG I LOOOOOVE THE NEW CHANG. The food quality is amazing the manger and the person the cook the food is REALLY REALLY GOOD. They listen to the customers and that's what matters. When I get off work this is the place I would go to after a long day of work if I don't feel like cooking.. I thank them sooooooo much. 🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟. Please let's tip them because they deserve it. I watched them clear out the resturant from so many orders and it was just the manager with the glasses and the cook... it can be exhausting cooking and stuff or running a restaurant and them 2 by themselves cleared it out lol so much multi task and still had great quality food down to the details on what I have ordered 👌 . Thank you BOTH SINCERELY 💓 💖 because you listen to the customers. From ...D3b. 2026“
“Definitively acceptable! But probably no more than that.
For a seafood restaurant I was expecting a little more .... seafood options - there is essentially 1 dish from each seafood genre, and the oyster selection is woeful and shockingly expensive given you cannot select variety or provenance of the oysters.
Had the crab cake sandwich, and it was alright. For $40 I'd have appreciated a house made bun but I guess Kings Hawaiian is okay too lol“

“Yesterday was my first time there, myself and a party of five. One member of our party arrived and had the table reserve the wait was 30 minutes, took that long for the rest of us to arrive; when we did we were seated rather fast. The crab bomb stole the show, best any of us ever had. Second runner up the crab soup also the baked potatoe was well portioned and was not dried out. The haddock was fried to perfection, and the cake dessert oh my, I ordered dessert to go, When I later dugged into the lemon pound cake each morsel was delicious, as if it was home made. Over all an excellent dining experience, a little pricey but was worth every single dime, we will return.“

“My friend and I arrived for brunch earlier today, and our experience was outstanding! We both enjoyed our meals tremendously. The serving size was such that we both had enough left over for the next day. Our servers, Jamari and Jamaal were top notch. They provided us with a balance of dedicated service without being overbearing. I definitely plan a return visit. Hopefully, I'll get the same servers, although from what I observed, all of the servers were excellent!“

“A great 'hole in the wall' that serves food that I wouldn't expect to find north of Dallas - genuine 'Tex-Mex' or New Mexico flavors that deliver what youre looking for if you're from the South. Generous portion sizes and quick service, along with a 'homey' atmosphere make it feel welcome, plus 2-3 TVs with sports on as well.“

We ordered the flounder basket with Onion rings, chicken wings and that incredible Rich, creamy tasty Clam chowder and everything was fabulous! Keith and Lala made us feel welcome and appreciated. “Returning to Washington from a France worn down by its own melancholy — a nation led by a presidential couple seemingly disconnected from l'esprit de grandeur — was a relief. The Monocle, nestled just a short pas de géant from Capitol Hill, felt like an antidote. Walking through its doors, I immediately felt transported, like one of the CIA operatives from Lioness Psy-Ops, covertly meeting allies in a safe haven of quiet luxury. Opened in October 1960 by Connie and Helen Valanos, The Monocle has seen more political deals sealed over its crab cakes than perhaps in the chambers of Congress themselves. As the Washingtonian noted, “The Monocle is a better restaurant than it’s given credit for,” serving dishes like “pan-fried Chesapeake Bay oysters baked in a light curry sauce” that feel like culinary diplomacy at its finest. What strikes one immediately is the duality of the space: half public house, half refined eatery. In the restaurant's more elegant quarters, I chose a glass of Sancerre, its mineral brightness pairing effortlessly with the signature crab cakes — plump, golden, and loaded with chair de crabe so sweet it could make a New Englander weep. A red wine-braised New York strip followed, its sauce reminiscent of the old-world simplicity one finds in France’s brasseries, yet undeniably American in its confident presentation. The maître d’, Nick Selimos — a fixture here for nearly three decades — greeted every guest with the kind of warmth that makes even the most hardened lobbyist feel comme chez soi. “There’s nothing more satisfying,” said John Valanos, the owner, “than having someone say, ‘We’ll come back ourselves.’” And come back they do — senators, staffers, and curious tourists alike. Sipping a digestif, I glanced at the black-and-white photos adorning the walls — Kennedy, Nixon, and other Washington titans. It’s said JFK dined here regularly during his Senate days. As The Washington Post humorously observed, "Intentions are spoken here, alliances formed, and deals sealed," all over dishes that balance simplicity and sophistication. Leaving The Monocle, I felt reconnected to the vibrancy of Washington, its pulse steadied by the legacy of places like this — where history, gastronomy, and a touch of joie de vivre blend into something unforgettable.“

“This place has great seafood and prices! It's a counter service seafood joint no frills here. They do have a full bar that is usually doing a very brisk business. I wish they could manage being busy a little better because the cleanliness of the dining area tends to suffer.“

“THIS PLACE IS A MUST TRY. PLEASE RUN HERE! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
If you’re a real foodie this spot on Marlboro Pike in District Heights needs to be on your list. Every single thing we ordered was a hit.
The whole red snapper was seasoned perfectly, the whiting and catfish were fried just right, and those sauced wings? Straight addicting.
The chicken cheesesteak and steak & cheese were loaded and flavorful, the fried shrimp was crispy and fresh, and the seafood boil was packed with bold, buttery flavor.
Even the sides stood out — the mixed vegetables and shrimp fried rice were cooked with real care.
Honestly, this is one of those places where you can order anything on the menu and feel confident. No guesswork, just good food.
Get the deserts! The cakes and pies🥧
Don’t take my word for it — pull up and experience it yourself. 🔥🦐🐟“

“Great customer service! I sent a FB message last night asking about getting crabs for today. They responded this morning apologizing that they did not have crabs because the season was winding down. A short time later they sent me a second message that they would be getting a couple bushels later in the afternoon and asked if I would still like to place an order. I really appreciated their reaching back out, it made my Dad’s Birthday.“

“Everything was really good, we got wings and red snapper (I ordered catfish but didn’t understand me) the wings were fresh and crispy, I got lemon pepper wet and the fried rice was great. There’s a bit of a language barrier, they mostly speak Spanish, but other than that 10/10“

“What a nice meal! We ordered our meal to go and it took about a half hour to prepare. I got the Ocean Catch #A, which came in a big plastic bag! Perfectly cooked crab legs and shrimp and the seafood legend sauce was very tasty - it tasted like a mix of Cajun seasoning, garlic and butter. I got the mild spice level, which was flavorful but not hot. The potato and corn that it came with were also good. The seafood catches and boils seen to be the specialty and mine was worth the money. My husband's salmon was good but unexciting and would have benefited from some of the same seasoning as mine. It was also a small portion for the price. However, his New England clam chowder was thick and flavorful. My five year old had the fried white fish and seemed content with it. Although we did not eat in the restaurant, it was well decorated and looked inviting - hopefully I will be able to eat there in person soon! On a side note, they also have bubble tea, which was delicious!“

“The food is fantastic but I did think the calamari was fried to hard so Im good on that. But when getting a dinner all the sides that I had was definitely working. And the definitely made sure that you get your money's worth or maybe it was my smile 😃. Bump that it was my smile so don't get mad is your plate doesn't look like mine. Im not a local and this was my second time. So when I'm in town this is one of my favorite spots. Also I did have take out and you can see my food in the photos.“

“We had a great experience at La’Caj Seafood. The ambiance was warm, inviting, and comfortable. It’s a great spot for a quick date night, a girls’ meet-up, or even catching the game.
Service was friendly and attentive without feeling rushed, and everything came out at a nice pace.
The food was full of flavor and clearly made with care. The Cajun butter lamb chops were a standout, and the fried red snapper was crisp, well seasoned, and fresh. The appetizers, sides, and Southern Peach cocktail were all solid,
Overall, a really enjoyable dining experience. We’ll definitely be back.“
