Ernie's Crab House Lanham is a hidden gem for Maryland style carryout seafood. The service is friendly and the ambiance is like a hole in the wall, but the juicy seafood will knock your socks off. The seafood combo platters with fried oysters, fried shrimp, fried fish, and double french fries are seasoned to perfection. The crabs are fat, full, and filling, with sizes that compete with anyone in the DMV. The medium size crabs usually are other establishments large, and extra large or jumbo sizes are hard to eat a dozen by yourself at one sitting. The snow crab legs are always replenishing, big, and meaty. Prices are a little more, but any place with XXL crabs is going to cost. Service has been superb for decades, and the quality and size of the crabs still can't be beat. The steamers are going always, and ordering is efficient and quick. It is a unique gem for a taste of Maryland tradition and a unique family outing.
