“At first we were a little surprised to be eating in a Days Inn -- and Al-Madani is unassuming atmospherically. However, the food was flavorful and delicious (aloo palak, lamb tikka kabobs, garlic naan), and the staff were wonderfully kind and caring. I feel like this is a hidden gem and hope many more people find them and that they get lots of business!”

“Maiwand Kabob is probably the best food I’ve had all year and I’m from Charleston South Carolina we aren’t hurting for choices. I would recommend the falafel, babaganoush, chicken shawarma, and gyro platter. Any of the meals or appetizers will definitely fill you up. Very generous servings.”

“This past Thursday (4/25), I went to the restaurant to use my birthday rewards to purchase a meal. Unfortunately, the link to retrieve my reward was not working. However, the cashier was nice enough to notify the manager and the manager gave me a discount after I showed him my email with the rewards information. This showed that the cashier and manager went above and beyond to provide exceptional customer services. And the meal, as always, was great!!!!”

“This was my and my fiancé's first time dining at this restaurant a few nights ago. We made a table reservation via OpenTable for 7:00pm, arrived at 6:50pm, and we were seated right away. From previous reviews I heard I was a good idea to make reservations, so that seems to be accurate from our experience because it was definitely a full house. The food is a bit pricey, but definitely worth it because it was delicious. I enjoyed my appetizer of Fiesta Egg rolls which were definitely cheesy, hot, and full of shredded chicken and lots of flavor. For entrees I got the Prime Rib (medium) which was cooked perfectly with some redskin mashed potatoes 😋 my fiancé got the Eastern Shore style crab cakes which were broiled and very tasty; came with coleslaw and show string french fries. My fiancé enjoyed all of his meal, with the exception of the coleslaw which he did not partake in due to health reasons. I also tried to Elite Margarita which was pretty good but a tad strong on the tequila for my liking, but the lime slice helped to take down some of the bitter alcohol taste for me 🙂👍🏾 The atmosphere of the restaurant is very relaxing, classy, and dimly lit which we loved because it had a romantic vibe to it. Our server, Olivia, was very friendly and welcoming and was on point making sure everything was to our liking. We will definitely be returning again to this location.”

“On 10/13/06 we visited this restaurant and let me tell you the food here is absolutely amazing! The ceviche was a total 10/10—so fresh and perfectly seasoned. We also ordered the lomo saltado, and it was another easy 10/10. On top of the incredible food, the girl who took our order was super friendly and welcoming. The cumbias they were playing were totally on point and created a fun vibe, though I’d recommend turning the volume down just a little bit so it's easier to talk. Also, as a small suggestion for management, adding a baby changing table to the bathrooms would be a huge help for families. Overall, a great spot that I highly recommend!”

“I highly recommend Dee Dee's Delights! She is extremely talented and professional! I reached out to her very late notice and she was still able to accommodate me. I ordered a space themed planet cake with a dozen cupcakes, and the entire party loved it! Very delicious and moist cake! The cupcakes and icing were so tasty! You did an amazing job Dee Dee, we will be back!”

“Yesterday was my first time visiting after a friend invited me. Charisse the owner was very warm and inviting! She explained the benefit of the drinks and made suggestions that were spot on. The shakes and teas tasted exactly like the name and were very light but filling. I highly recommend visiting for a tasty pick me up drink and good atmosphere!”

“4.5/5 I have eaten here a few times and I have to say I love the pupusas here!
They have great sauces for the pupusas as well. One thing I have to admit is that I’m a huge fan of chicken pupusas… I must emphasize that I always order chicken pupusas at any pupuseria restaurant. In this case they used the rotisserie chicken rather than shredded chicken in seasoning. This usually Does not happen at this location but it caught me off by surprise. Is this change in the menu? Regardless will be coming back to eat other pupusas here”

“First time at this specific location and when I say the food WAS BOMB!!! I will only come to this location for now on! I got the fish platter with a half and half and everything was delicious. Our food was so good, the customers behind us asked what was that delicious smell (the fried whitening) and they ended up ordering the same thing!

Ordered two tacos to go and some churros from their bakery case. Churros still tasted fresh mid-day and were super crunchy. Ordered one chicken and one steak taco. Fantastic tacos. Was surprised about the 15min wait for the tacos, so ended up waiting in the car to come back and get them. Grabbed pics of their current menu since this seemed to be outdated a little online.”

“Flora's Restaurant has become my go-to spot for incredible West African food, and I can't recommend it enough!!!

The Food: Absolutely outstanding. I've tried several dishes here, and everything has been consistently delicious. My personal favorites are the jollof rice and chicken stew, both of which are packed with flavor and clearly made from scratch. You can't go wrong with the beef suya, and their fufu never disappoints. My father always orders the egusi, and my mother is hooked on the salmon. Every dish we've tried has been a winner. The menu features authentic West African cuisine prepared with care and skill, and everything tastes incredibly fresh. You can tell the chef is a true professional who takes pride in their craft. Nothing tastes rushed or pre-made. The portions are generous, and the flavors are rich and well-balanced. Whether you're familiar with African cuisine or trying it for the first time, the menu has something that will exceed your expectations.
I've also had the pleasure of trying their catering service, and I was equally impressed. The food traveled well, stayed fresh, and was just as flavorful as dining in. It's rare to find a restaurant where the catering quality matches the in-house experience, but Flora's absolutely delivers on both fronts.

The Atmosphere: It's a small, intimate spot that seats around 20 people. While they do a lot of takeout orders, it's also a nice place for families to sit down and enjoy a meal together. The space is clean and well-kept, and they always have great music playing in the background that makes the dining experience even better.

The Service: The staff work hard in the kitchen, and it shows in the quality of every dish. The owner is usually hard at work as well but definitely makes the effort to greet you, which speaks to how much care goes into running this place.

Bottom Line: Flora's is the real deal. Great food, fair prices, and a business run with integrity. If you're in the Greenbelt/Lanham area and looking for authentic African cuisine or just a solid meal, Flora's should be at the top of your list. I'll definitely be back!”
