“Been going to this place for years. It’s like comfort food for me. I love the general tso chicken and their steak and cheese are always packed full and delicious. Wings are fresh, hot, and crispy. Their mumbo sauce always hits and has never changed. They do charge for extra for sauce but can’t even be mad about that because big chains are doing it too. It’s always the same lady that’s there and she even remembers my order.“

I ordered the veggie lo mein (lunch) I didn’t expect it to be so small and shrimp and broccoli with garlic sauce with would the normal lunch size. The flavors were there, but could be spicer. “This is the best takeout Chinese I’ve had in Maryland period. The Mongolian beef, Szechuan beef and crispy beef are all fantastic. The Mongolian beef especially is my favorite with a wonderful charred flavor. Also the dishes come with rice and the rice is cooked to perfection, not mushy at all. “Absolutely delicious food! I first came here six years ago for my husband’s birthday after hearing about the restaurant from a foodie. It’s an unpretentious spot with incredibly good food. We ordered 10+ different dishes that first time and loved everything, especially the dan dan noodles and the pork bun. Nothing can ever compare to their Dan Dan noodles no matter how many times we order them from different restaurants!

We moved far away after a few years, but when we came back to visit friends this month, this was the first restaurant we wanted to return to. The food was just as delicious as it was six years ago. Highly recommend!“

Food is super unique and delicious, highly recommend as I've never seen another place that offers this cuisine. Intriguing flavor combinations. Good portion sizes for the price - come hungry or expect to take leftovers. Seating setups are also very interesting, the place is cutely decorated but there's some wonky chairs/tables.“

It is recently under new management and the way some items are prepared has changed, but still very tasty -- just a new twist on an old favorite. The one thing the new management needs is someone who knows their way around a bar. The people there this week had a very limited range of knowledge about drinks (gin on the rocks got a blank look), but once you explained they happily made a very acceptable drink.“

“This is a nice reminder of what authentic Chinese food taste like. We tried slices beef with peppers, spring rolls, egg drop soup, and chicken fried rice. Everything was piping hot and well flavored.

The only thing to be modified is the time it took to take drink orders and the order of food delivery (the preference is for appetizers to come out before the meal but asking the customer if all is desired together is good).

The venue is spacious, the light is well balanced and it has nice music playing juat enough to set the scene for authentic cuisine. We will definitely be back when we return to DC.“

In the past, Ive tried other Chinese places and the concerns I've had were the food isn't hot its always warm or cold and that the taste of the food decreased. So I gave lucky star a try and I got the Steak & Cheese sub with an order of fries. Upon receiving my food, the lady who is always at the counter is so kind and she greets you with a friendly attitude and she even recognizes returning customers which is also a plus. So as I was at a stop light, I quickly googled the closest open spot, and China America Inn was the 1st in line. I didn't even know this place was a place! And it's close to home too!! It's not a party place, so table seating is limited, BUT the food is so good you will want to take it home and devour it in your own comfort where you can relax afterward. I ordered 2 seafood soups, general tso, and buffalo wings. The man who took my order was super nice and informative about other options available. My mom LOVES the seafood soup!! the general tso was fantastic, well cooked and not hard, just like I want it. The wings were very flavorful as well. Thank you for making my mom happy!! Food was cooked to perfection (meat was tender, veggies were both soft & crispy), but lacks some of the typical Chinese veggies like water chestnuts and baby corn. Good balance of vegetables and meat, large portions.“

The latter was decidedly much better—Wok-A-Holic’s orange chicken and broccoli chicken were far superior to Panda’s serviceable but bland orange chicken and broccoli beef. The pork chop meal is really good, especially when Ms. Karimi submits my special request!! The orzo rice is extremely soft, very good, and flavorful. The roasted potatoes are dangerously good and seasoned well. On Gyro Wednesday the gyros are $6.00. The tzaiki sauce is excellent to the taste, and pairs very well on the Greek salad, pork chops, and best with the roasted garlic potatoes!!!
