“I was browsing through Chinese places and I came across Lucky Star. I must say, that this place exceeded my expectations. In the past, Ive tried other Chinese places and the concerns I've had were the food isn't hot its always warm or cold and that the taste of the food decreased. So I gave lucky star a try and I got the Steak & Cheese sub with an order of fries. Upon receiving my food, the lady who is always at the counter is so kind and she greets you with a friendly attitude and she even recognizes returning customers which is also a plus. Also, the food is. fresh and hot when you receive it and the food even tastes delicious!. So, if you're looking for a chinese place to go with great food, I recommend Lucky Star.“

“Memory lane. My old friend used to get food from here and share it with me. I didn't know that and didn't understand why she braved through the hood for this place until I left the DMV area. It's worth it. This was the first place that I was introduced to Chinese carryout food and mumbo sauce. Check this out: Mumbo sauce is a DIP for fried chicken wings and not a wet rub. The correct and best way is to dip your fried chicken wings in the mumbo sauce (like you dip your wings in ranch dressing). If you want to smother your wings in mumbo sauce, then that is your personal preference, but anyone or any place serving the wings to you already smothered in mumbo sauce is wrong. Mumbo sauce is pink and is supposed to come in a condiment cup (just like ranch dressing). Another thing: The wings here taste good on their own and better with mumbo sauce. Best wings in the DMV. Best mumbo sauce in the DMV. Best wings & mumbo sauce pairing in the DMV. I said it. I left the DMV years ago and there is no American Chinese carryout that compares to this place in my travels. Trust me, only NYC Chinese carryouts can dare compete. I only took off a star because of my ordering experience years ago. I brought my brother here to order carryout because I am not brave enough to go to the hood by myself, and the lady who took my order was rude, not nice, unfriendly, unwelcoming, the worst. It's as if I wasn't a human being. If I wasn't determined to have my brother taste the food (he agreed that it tasted really good), then I would have turned around and said forget it.“

“It's your typical urban Chinese takeout but I really like their dumplings and get them whenever I'm in the area. Gave it 5 stars because once they knew I spoke Mandarin, we really connected and reminisced about China ? two stars because of the bullet proof window and bars you have to order through and no place to sit and enjoy the food. But given the neighborhood, I guess I understand the security precautions.“

“So I don't often do these reviews but I feel that this is a needed share...my family is going thru some hard times and have some days struggled with having enough to eat given the daily expense of being in a hotel...the manager at Panda Express (Moolin) was a breath of fresh air and gave some glimpse of real humanity...she not only took the time to listen to us knowing that it was a hard thing to even have to ask for food that was possibly being tossed or wrote off but she then offered to feed us and our fur babies...and she has been so kind to us and the food was so good and fresh...the staff was all friendly...and given the way most people and places are today I think everyone needs to know that there are folks that care and will not judge and will do what they can or what is within their means to do...Panda Express is worth a visit“

“Not gonna lie .. I’ve been reluctant on trying the food from this place for awhile now .. I’ve been living in this area of the dmv now for about almost 5 years now .. but long story short the vibe in this place is dope .. the customer service is great as well .. after I read some reviews I decided to try to combo Baltimore style yakmein .. and imma be honest I DO NOT understand the hype .. I don’t know if what I received is how it’s supposed to taste but it was OKAY .. I believe ordering it spicy probably would fill in for what it’s missing taste wise .. but overall that meal was cooked well .. I’m eager to the their Baltimore style yakmein options that do not have noddles .. I think the sauce and your choice of protein over rice is probably the better option for that type of cooking and flavoring .. I also ordered a steak and cheese egg roll .. I feel the egg roll was cooked too hard and lacked cheese within it .. it was kinda dry ., overall it wasn’t too bad .. and then lastly I ordered a shrimp fried rice lunch special .. to be honest I’ve had way better fried rice from other places but the way they make it here is okay .. not bad but will get you through a long day of starving if you’re down bad and can’t find another spot to get you out the way .. overall I do not think this places makes bad food even though my first experience wasn’t how I anticipated .. but I’m willing to give them more chances by experimenting with some of their menu items that are sort of unorthodox and unusual to be on at a Chinese carryout .. overall I wasn’t too pleased with my meal but it was okay .. I feel like place has some hidden gems an I cannot wait to figure out what other menu items are great ! It’s like I can tell this place has more to offer but I don’t know what to get yet ! My whole point about this review is please do not believe the hype .. everything is not what it seems with reviews .. if you want a real answer sometimes you have to take the risk and figure it out for yourself !“

“I have gotten food here abt 10+ times in the last 3or 4 years when I am in the area. Usually a large Singapore Mei Fun for me & SEFY for the hubber. Never disappointed: fresh, hot, & just the right amount of spicy. I call it in, pay w/CashApp, & pick-up on my way home.“

“Sooo good!I ordered chicken wings with fried rice,pepper steak with onion,chicken with broccoli comb, egg rolls. All delicious ! I called in to order for pick up, they unfortunately don’t deliver. I stopped coming to this location for a Year or so! Because the Customer service was beyond rude, ghetto, stank attitudes and drive thru or inside workers acted as if you were bothering them. But TODAY!! 3-31-25 on the intercom and thru the Drive-Thru Brian was nice, welcoming, patient, friendly, respectful totally what defines excellent customer service in a fast food business. The Ambiance was cool the manger was equally as nice and pleasant. They both redeem this place with Me and the rest of my family with coming back again!!.. so if you ever read this thank you sooo much because I Missed the Teriyaki Chicken!!! & Super Greens!! . The manger said they did a cut of 52 plus workers because of the customers complaints etc GOOD!! I don't support trash customer service at all!! esp being on both sides a chef and a customer! That's not a good look! . Got the Honey Sesame Chicken which was the right amount of crispy , tender meat and excellent amount of honey!, the super greens stayed perfection still seasoned/steamed well enough cooked but crisp same time!, the broccoli beef was goood the meat extra tender how it should be!! I'd absolutely Return!“
