“In an area saturated with “carry out” it is nice to have an actual tasty Chinese Restaurant.“

“Lmao .. I'm not even gonna lie .. I think this place deserves a higher rating than it actually has .. and I'll tell you why .. I was reluctant on going inside to actually order something I normally order from different places .. but long story short, after reading a comment/review on how GREAT/SUPERB the Shrimp Egg Foo Young is at this place I got interested and had to try it out for myself .. and I'm not gonna lie that person that left that review DID NOT LIE LMAO .. it lives up to its reputation 🔥💯😋 .. I will most DEFINITELY be back to order it again .. this place makes it the best in this area of the DMV and ive tried Shrimp Egg Foo Young from a lot of different places in the DMV area and its been awhile since ive tried one that tastes as good and traditional as this one .. when i took a first bite i immediately had a flashback to when I was a kid and my mom used to buy this and share with me and my sister .. where she got it from then idk but i digress .. but yeah man definitely go shop with them and get the Shrimp Egg Foo Young .. its delicious .. i wish i wouldve took pictures but it was so good i wasnt even thinking .. before i knew it, there was nothing left lmao .. but anyway last thing i wanna say is .. if a Chinese Carryout only has one size for something they are selling that most of the time means its bomb dot com haha ! Great job you guys ! I'm going to try my best to make sure you guys get to a four or 5 star ! Keep up the great work and great food ! Thank you !“

“This was my first time coming to this panda location and I have to say I’m impressed. The worker JT definitely succeeded in service. He was quick and had a great attitude which made me feel welcomed to the establishment. Keep up the good work the orange chicken is the best !“

“Our waiter, Caleb, was attentive and knowledgeable. The food was delicious and the dishes were interesting and unique. We were a party of 7, sat outside and really enjoyed ourselves. The pacing of all the dishes coming out was perfect. The only downside was that there was a man with a really large dog seated right next to us and the dog barked and whined (so loudly we could not hear each other) and it smacked into our chairs repeatedly. Once the man left things improved and we had a great experience.“

“Been scouting this place for about 3 weeks for a birthday dinner. I called over a week in advance for a party of 7 - 13 people. They were able too accommodate and the food was GOOOOOD! That hotpot was smokin and I thought I choose a milder one but it was excellent in taste for me. Now this was the first time I have had it so don't come at me if it doesn't hit you taste buds the same.“

The food was delicious, bubble tea flavors and pearls were fresh and simple. I would say it leans more toward an America flavor pallet depending on your selection but Im sure there are some sophisticated options if that's where your pallet tends to lean.

I got the chai latte light sugar&ice and my hubby greatly enjoyed Starla's PineappleMango suggestion. So yummy, so fun.

I love the bright decor and semi-exclusive dining options; certainly would love to meet the family here during an outing.

The bathroom was super clean and had a large mirror great for freshening up.

Certainly would recommend for DC visitors.

I got the Lucky dumpling back. Personal favorite of the bunch was the black Truffle so I know next visit which basket I'll lean more toward.

✨️BONUS: Their bowl, cups and utensil charger had a very elegant weight to them which was incredibly comforting and added a coziness to the experience.

“Their selection of lunch specials, with a beverage, checks the boxes for value and portion size. No frills service: order, pay (cash is king), take away or dine in.

The chicken with broccoli, with white rice was more than enough for lunch. The hot made-to-order broccoli tasted fresh and sweet; chicken was juicy and tender. I thought there was too much oyster sauce.

Next time, order light on sauce!

In DC, a good atmosphere indicator on whenever a Chinese restaurant has props with their chops is when I hear locals speak Chinese, with tourists, locals, and Americans. Four stars!“

“This was the most authentic, delicious, Chinese food I've had since visiting China back in 2007. It brought back so many memories, I could have cried. I had the black vinegar peanuts, red chili sesame dumplings, and the minced pork noodles. I can't wait to go back. This is food I'll dream about.“

“Absolutely delicious food! I first came here six years ago for my husband’s birthday after hearing about the restaurant from a foodie. It’s an unpretentious spot with incredibly good food. We ordered 10+ different dishes that first time and loved everything, especially the dan dan noodles and the pork bun. Nothing can ever compare to their Dan Dan noodles no matter how many times we order them from different restaurants!

We moved far away after a few years, but when we came back to visit friends this month, this was the first restaurant we wanted to return to. The food was just as delicious as it was six years ago. Highly recommend!“

It is recently under new management and the way some items are prepared has changed, but still very tasty -- just a new twist on an old favorite. The one thing the new management needs is someone who knows their way around a bar. “This is a nice reminder of what authentic Chinese food taste like. We tried slices beef with peppers, spring rolls, egg drop soup, and chicken fried rice. Everything was piping hot and well flavored.

The only thing to be modified is the time it took to take drink orders and the order of food delivery (the preference is for appetizers to come out before the meal but asking the customer if all is desired together is good).

The venue is spacious, the light is well balanced and it has nice music playing juat enough to set the scene for authentic cuisine. We will definitely be back when we return to DC.“

I was craving a steak and cheese and my husband reminded me of Jerry Chans, which save us a drive because usually we would go Uptown NW DC to order our steak and cheese subs. “Authentic, no-frills, all-flavor DC carry-out food, with fried chicken wings, original-style DC mambo sauce, fried rice with plenty of onions and bean sprouts, french fries made as you ask with salt, pepper, ketchup, a steak and cheese with seasoned meat and plenty of fillings, I prefer getting it with everything and hot peppers, and it was the nostalgic, savory taste I'd been looking for since loving in DC and moving to VA 10 years ago. This spot has great food. Make sure you have Zelle or cash, they don't take credit cards and there's an ATM inside.
I got a half steak and cheese woth everything on it plus hot peppers, an order of French fries with salt, pepper, ketchup, and 3 wings with fried rice with mambo sauce on everything. Plus I got an extra container of mambo sauce for dipping. It was less than $20. Wait time was maybe 10 minutes.“

In the past, Ive tried other Chinese places and the concerns I've had were the food isn't hot its always warm or cold and that the taste of the food decreased. So I gave lucky star a try and I got the Steak & Cheese sub with an order of fries. Upon receiving my food, the lady who is always at the counter is so kind and she greets you with a friendly attitude and she even recognizes returning customers which is also a plus. “I’ve been here about a dozen times and will gladly go back again. Like most places that have too many menu items, it’s impossible to expect everything to be good. I stick to things that are stir fried, namely their pork fried rice. I’ve tried most of the carryouts nearby and wonder chicken has the best fried rice. Also, in 2026, their combination platter, which comes with a stir fried dish, pork fried rice, and an egg roll, is only around $10. It’s hard to beat at that price.

Even the normal American Chinese takeout items like the pork fried rice noodles has some extra flavor, and the more specialized items like the dry hot pot are excellent examples of Szechuan cooking. On busy days like holidays, give them some extra time but otherwise it's a reasonable turnaround on take out orders. There's no seating at the restaurant, but you can save money by ordering direct and paying cash.“
