Bar Chinois is a wonderful little spot in DC, a bit off the beaten path in Northwest but absolutely worth the walk from the Mall. The atmosphere is fantastic, stylish, and energetic, perfect for a night out or a fun dinner with friends. The food is excellent, delicious, and creative, with beautifully presented dishes. Specific meals mentioned include the duck spring rolls, happy hour veggie dumplings, garlic chives gao, spicy eggplant for beginners, garlic noodles with shrimp, and Lu Rao Fan. The cocktails are creative, memorable, and at the top of the cocktail game, with unique options like the Nimbus Cloud cocktail featuring pistachio and pineapple flavors, and the Chinois Mule. Service is friendly, attentive, and welcoming. It works perfectly as a late-night watering hole or a place to stop after a show, and happy hour is popular with additional times on the weekend and late nights. The only downside is how busy it can get during peak hours, so plan ahead or come on off hours.
