“My go to chinese carryout place. Best place for chicken wings or other chicken pieces to eat as well and the fried rice. I tried fried rice from dozens of other carryouts and nothing comes close to their rice. Steak and cheese is the best and others dishes are great as well. Only problem is it's cash only other then that food is great.Btw ask for the hot sauce if you get fried chicken. The sauce is strong but goes well with the chicken!“

“Service and atmosphere were excellent.
The food did not live up to my expectations of Hong Kong/Cantonese flavors... We found this restaurant through the Eater channel on youtube. After our meal, we decided the food was better described as French cuisine with HK influence. I honestly wanted a little soy sauce and rice vinegar with everything. Umami was largely missing from every dish except the duck noodles.
***The chili oil was delicious, floral with balanced heat.***
Split between 2 people:
-green beans (Fine, good texture, but needed more acid to balance rich sweetness. The topping of pickled anaheims were not enough to balance the entire plate),
-dumplings (gentle truffle flavors and nice sweetness from the espuma, but overall unremarkable)
-scallion pancakes (little to no allium flavor, dough was tough, lacked flakes/delicate texture, lacked salt and acid in the sweet tamarind sauce)
-daikon fritters (overwhelmingly bland and dry, needed a dipping condiment)
-Duck noodles finally had some flavor! (But the duck appeared smoked, closer to pastrami... tasty, but not what I expected from duck noodles at an HK restaurant.)
The wine was good. I did appreciate the selection of natural wines.
Overall we were disappointed based on our expectations for and previous experiences with HK/Cantonese dining. The textures and flavors reminded me of a low sodium, easy to chew menu prioritizing French techniques and flavor profiles.
Table condiments (besides chili oil) would have fixed most of my complaints, but I felt embarrassed to ask based on the atmosphere. I felt that my personal culinary tastes were misaligned with the deeply thoughtful and dining experience.
We were not the target diners for this fine establishment, but I recognize the passion, excellence, and personal intention behind every design and culinary choice at Queen's English.“

“This place is great! I got the spicy beef noodle soup and my wife got the scallop and pork soup dumplings and pan-friend pork buns and everything was very much to our liking. The broth was good, the pork buns were perfectly crispy on the outside and nice and qq on the inside, and the soup dumplings were CRAZY savory. I have no idea how they got the dumplings to be a punch of umami, but they did it!

The prices weren't crazy and the service was attentive but not overbearing. We also got the classic milk tea with boba and a mango-pineapple refresher and those were both good as well, though the food I think was better. Also, the menu recommended 50% sweet but we thought that even the 75% wasn't too sweet and the 50% on my refresher felt a little low.“

“Our food didn't take long to arrive, when we got it is was extremely delicious, they were very welcoming and kind to our big group of people and I would love to visit again in the future(I don't live in this state). I ordered the shrimp Tempura and the Strawberry boba and it was delicious, everyone else also had positive things to say about their meals. “What a fantastic restaurant this is! Visiting from Chicago and this is a great venue! Upbeat and stylish are the keys to this establishment. Jai Jai was an awesome server explaining all the details of what the restaurant offers! Everything came out timely, piping hot and tasty! Definitely worth another visit if we are in DC. Tried the signature Pork chop fried rice, braised beef ramen and the dumpling sampler. And ended with the other signature dessert, cheesecake topped with fortune cookies and crumbs. “Lots of options and everything was delicious! The seating felt a little compact, but the food was amazing! There are a lot of contrasting flavors in all the dishes. Very authentic flavors and quite spicy. The chicken all came out flavorful, and the beef was very soft. The dumplings were also very delicious and juicy!

“This is definitely my new go-to Chinese spot.

I submitted a large take out for my brothers birthday dinner and knew this spot was fire when they called to ask for clarification for my order. We ordered a two general tso chicken combination platter with fried rice, mei fun (thin noodles) with shrimp and also another one with chicken, general tso tofu combination platter and additional sides (fries + vegetable fried rice). I personally ate the chicken mei fun and the food was so good I forgot to get a picture. It was so flavorful and addicting. I added a bit of their chili oil on top and it was the perfect level of spicy that complimented my food. I spent about $108 for all our food which isn’t bad to serve 7 people.

“Yummy food - don't consider the 4 star rating. Locals have their lunch here which is always a good sign. The wonton soup was delicious and steaming hot, the sesame balls great and the kids loved their crispy spring rolls. They do serve everything on disposable plates/cutlery which have earned them a few 1 star reviews. But the food was great - and inexpensive.“

“Fantastic business lunch at NiHao! Had a group of four and we were thoroughly impressed by both the food and the efficiency. Every dish we ordered - from the salt and pepper shrimp to the beef chow fun - was fresh, full of flavor, and enough for leftovers. It is great to find a lunch spot that is quick, and reasonably priced.

Our waiter, Scott made the experience seamless. He was on top of everything, guiding us through the menu, keeping our water filled, and clearing dishes quickly so we could focus on our meeting - we were worried that we ordered too much but Scott told us that his mom says “If you go to a Chinese restaurant and don’t have leftovers, you didn’t order enough”. “We love Szechuan-style Chinese food, and this spot was a great find. It was casual, clean, and fast, with excellent quality and generous portions. The pork stir-fry in garlic sauce and flash-fried green beans with pickled cabbage were both super flavorful and paired really well together. The shrimp lo mein was delicious too. “This place has the best pork broth!
I feel like you could bring friends and family to this restaurant and just have shareable as the plate seem pretty large. I did bring my six month old baby and our stroller which I wouldn’t do again lol it’s pretty tight in there, but it was still enjoyable. They have a lot of fun drinks that atmosphere feels really cool when you go after 4:00 PM. The staff is really nice and I can tell each item you order is being made fresh. It took about 20 minutes to get my food. I will say the restaurant was busy inside and out and like I said it’s pretty small so they were moving as fast as they could and I wasn’t in a rush. At first, I thought this was going to be fast casual, but it’s really like a cocktail bar with really yummy food. Giving you still that restaurant experience. I wasn’t expecting it to be in College Park so happy I found it. Definitely get the fried dumplings. They were out of this world. And technically I ordered the dish that’s called spicy pork broth, but I didn’t get it spicy because I shared it with my six month old who also absolutely loved it.
I also got two drinks. They were delicious cocktails I got one called Berry Bizz (which is a sweet high ball drink), and the one pictured which is technically called citrus something but instead of orange juice, I asked them to fill it up with cranberry juice. Overall, I would say I wouldn’t bring more than one baby lol, I wouldn’t bring a stroller, and I would definitely use this as a fun cocktail night for a date night, with your bestie, or with your family. Also, my bill was high, but if you remove my drinks, you could go there and technically spend $10-$20.“

“We've been eating here for over 20 years and it has always been good. It is recently under new management and the way some items are prepared has changed, but still very tasty -- just a new twist on an old favorite. The one thing the new management needs is someone who knows their way around a bar. The people there this week had a very limited range of knowledge about drinks (gin on the rocks got a blank look), but once you explained they happily made a very acceptable drink.“

“We have been coming to Full Key for lunch during the week. Their lunch specials are of good value. The service is excellent, the staff speak both Chinese and English fluently. The food is always satisfactory but when we came on the weekend and ordered from the regular menu, the dishes are even better than the lunch specials.“

Not only did they make sure we got our delicious food quickly, when they brought out his dessert they played a happy birthday song! “My new neighborhood go to place for Chinese food. I've been looking for a place since Tsim Yung closed on 12th Street a while back. I'm not a Chinese food connoisseur but this meets my test for good weekend comfort food with reasonable prices and good portions. Location is sketchy but the kitchen area looks remarkable clean and open for a fast food joint. Ordered pork fried rice twice and added Szechuan Beef on the second trip. They didn't disappoint. John was really helpful and walked us through the different menus and the self-ordering setup. I liked that you can order from multiple restaurants all in one place, which makes it perfect for indecisive groups or people who all want different things. One person can get a salad, another can get a burger, and someone else can grab pizza, all in the same order. We tried the lime salt and Royal Greens, and it was a great experience overall.“

“Authentic, no-frills, all-flavor DC carry-out food, with fried chicken wings, original-style DC mambo sauce, fried rice with plenty of onions and bean sprouts, french fries made as you ask with salt, pepper, ketchup, a steak and cheese with seasoned meat and plenty of fillings, I prefer getting it with everything and hot peppers, and it was the nostalgic, savory taste I'd been looking for since loving in DC and moving to VA 10 years ago. This spot has great food. Make sure you have Zelle or cash, they don't take credit cards and there's an ATM inside.
I got a half steak and cheese woth everything on it plus hot peppers, an order of French fries with salt, pepper, ketchup, and 3 wings with fried rice with mambo sauce on everything. Plus I got an extra container of mambo sauce for dipping. It was less than $20. Wait time was maybe 10 minutes.“

“My husband and I were in town for business and decided to look for somewhere nearby and Magic Gourd popped up. We decided to give it a try. The food was great but the service was even better. It's a cute chill restaurant. There is a bar setup. We sat at a small table in the dining area. The food was absolutely delicious. My husband said he hates that if he has the dish anywhere else it won't be as good 🤭. He's not wrong. It was some of the best general tso chicken I've had as well as the beef & broccoli. The broccoli was cooked but still had a nice crunch. The meat for both dishes were fresh and for the chicken there was more chicken than breading which is hard to come by at places. The kitchen was open, and the staff was very pleasant. While it’s not amazing. It does fit into the very good category. It makes it a perfect choice for a quick meal with family or friends.
