“I’m new to the area and decided to try Flora’s since it was the closest spot. I didn’t expect much, but wow, I was so pleasantly surprised! I had the chance to meet Flora, the owner, and she’s incredibly sweet and welcoming. I ordered the Egwusi, Jollof, and Eru soup, and they were all absolutely delicious. Honestly, I can’t even pick a favorite because each dish was perfect in its own way. I’ll definitely be coming back and highly recommend this place!“

“So many folks have been drawn to the new kid on the block, Koma Café, but don’t forget about the welcoming, delicious and expansive Mansa Kunda at the corner of Flower and Erie Aves. There is plenty of interesting space to enjoy a meal, a quiet afternoon coffee or a friendly drink. You can even sit on a chair made from a traditional West African drum. There couldn’t be a more gracious host than Hatib who serves brunch in addition to lunch and dinner. This morning he welcomed five of us for a 10:00am feast, first asking if there was anything we didn’t eat (meat for the most part) but yes to eggs. We trusted him to surprise us and indeed he did. The veggie omelets were tender, whole wheat rolls still warm, the home fries crunchy and rich and the Brussel sprouts delicious. There were small coconut fritters, lightly fried and dusted with powdered sugar. So tasty! The brunch menu at Mansa Kunda includes familiar favorites like blueberry pancakes in addition to traditional West African dishes. Peanut butter chu anyone? It’s open from 10:00am to 9:00pm every day with Happy Hour from 4:00 to 7:00. Hatib is also an excellent baker so the sweets are a treat. We’re very lucky to have Mansa Kunda in the neighborhood. If you haven’t been there already, you’ll find something special to enjoy.“

“Really cool store that has a lot of Senegalese items around for sale. The food was perfect it was my first time having west African food and I really liked how Smokey and barbequey the food was. I got the large lamb platter and they really packed on the rice and lamb, it was really delicious and the onions were particularly good. The lamb wasn’t gamey at all and had a great taste and chew. The turn around time on the order was quick as well and very friendly staff.“

“Chef John puts his heart into his meals and gives his client a wonderful experience. Recently I experienced his seafood okra aka ila a la se po... it was amazing! The whole family loved it even my young kids 10 & 8.

My kids had his turkey 2 years ago and requested for it again this year, that's how memorable his meals are. So as requested we tried his raga turkey, spinach aka efo riro and Jollof rice for Thanksgiving 2024 and he did not disappoint!! Everything was tasty, people kept asking where the food was catered from.

Kudos chef, we enjoy your meals. And we will keep coming back.

Reason why and I’m sorry the jollof rice was not spicy or tasty as what I’m use too. The one piece of goat meat I ordered was all fat, the suya beef was dry, tuff and packaged wrong. “I initially called to ask what options of protein the store has and I was told whatever you like we offer! I really appreciated how kind the woman on the phone was and as I walked in she was very pleasant. I also noticed the menu offered a variety of other dishes I did not know the store prepared since the online menu did not provide but easily convinced me to want to come back immediately. I ordered the cassava leaf stew with fish and white rice. I also ordered two Jamaican beef patties. I ordered two cassava leaf stews because I kept reading reviews of how small the servings were. Being pregnant and having this craving made me say why not just order two in case! Lo and behold when I received my food it was a very good size portion as well as the amount of protein given with this dish! I was extremely pleased with not only the taste but the quantity of serving at the listed price is very appropriate. My overall experience 10 out of 10 will be trying again and again!!! I’m so satisfied and now know to go and try things yourself instead of reading reviews. You never know. Proof of the quality down below. I ordered from Beyond Suya at their kiosk, and I was genuinely impressed. The staff was so nice, patient, and super communicative throughout the entire process. Even though it wasn’t a dine-in experience, they made sure everything went smoothly and made me feel like a valued customer.

The food was absolutely delicious – full of flavor and clearly made with care. What really stood out, aside from the amazing service, is that they’re open late!
