The Food: Absolutely outstanding. I've tried several dishes here, and everything has been consistently delicious. My personal favorites are the jollof rice and chicken stew, both of which are packed with flavor and clearly made from scratch. You can't go wrong with the beef suya, and their fufu never disappoints. My father always orders the egusi, and my mother is hooked on the salmon. Every dish we've tried has been a winner. The menu features authentic West African cuisine prepared with care and skill, and everything tastes incredibly fresh. You can tell the chef is a true professional who takes pride in their craft. Nothing tastes rushed or pre-made. The portions are generous, and the flavors are rich and well-balanced. Whether you're familiar with African cuisine or trying it for the first time, the menu has something that will exceed your expectations.
I've also had the pleasure of trying their catering service, and I was equally impressed. The food traveled well, stayed fresh, and was just as flavorful as dining in. It's rare to find a restaurant where the catering quality matches the in-house experience, but Flora's absolutely delivers on both fronts.

The Atmosphere: It's a small, intimate spot that seats around 20 people. While they do a lot of takeout orders, it's also a nice place for families to sit down and enjoy a meal together. The space is clean and well-kept, and they always have great music playing in the background that makes the dining experience even better.

The Service: The staff work hard in the kitchen, and it shows in the quality of every dish. The owner is usually hard at work as well but definitely makes the effort to greet you, which speaks to how much care goes into running this place.

Bottom Line: Flora's is the real deal. Great food, fair prices, and a business run with integrity. If you're in the Greenbelt/Lanham area and looking for authentic African cuisine or just a solid meal, Flora's should be at the top of your list. I'll definitely be back!“

“Really cool store that has a lot of Senegalese items around for sale. The food was perfect it was my first time having west African food and I really liked how Smokey and barbequey the food was. I got the large lamb platter and they really packed on the rice and lamb, it was really delicious and the onions were particularly good. The lamb wasn’t gamey at all and had a great taste and chew. The turn around time on the order was quick as well and very friendly staff.“

“Chef John puts his heart into his meals and gives his client a wonderful experience. Recently I experienced his seafood okra aka ila a la se po... it was amazing! The whole family loved it even my young kids 10 & 8.

My kids had his turkey 2 years ago and requested for it again this year, that's how memorable his meals are. So as requested we tried his raga turkey, spinach aka efo riro and Jollof rice for Thanksgiving 2024 and he did not disappoint!! Everything was tasty, people kept asking where the food was catered from.

Kudos chef, we enjoy your meals. And we will keep coming back.

Reason why and I’m sorry the jollof rice was not spicy or tasty as what I’m use too. The one piece of goat meat I ordered was all fat, the suya beef was dry, tuff and packaged wrong. I really appreciated how kind the woman on the phone was and as I walked in she was very pleasant. I also noticed the menu offered a variety of other dishes I did not know the store prepared since the online menu did not provide but easily convinced me to want to come back immediately. I ordered the cassava leaf stew with fish and white rice. I also ordered two Jamaican beef patties. I ordered two cassava leaf stews because I kept reading reviews of how small the servings were. Being pregnant and having this craving made me say why not just order two in case! Lo and behold when I received my food it was a very good size portion as well as the amount of protein given with this dish! I was extremely pleased with not only the taste but the quantity of serving at the listed price is very appropriate. My overall experience 10 out of 10 will be trying again and again!!! I ordered from Beyond Suya at their kiosk, and I was genuinely impressed. The staff was so nice, patient, and super communicative throughout the entire process. Even though it wasn’t a dine-in experience, they made sure everything went smoothly and made me feel like a valued customer.

The food was absolutely delicious – full of flavor and clearly made with care. What really stood out, aside from the amazing service, is that they’re open late! “One of the BEST Egusi I've ever had. I was pregnant and Ms. Bangura (owner) was so kind enough to have my special order ready for me on almost a nightly basis. For whatever reason, my craving was egusi and it started with just single orders every other night to ordering pans of egusi with a side of pounded yam.

My husband would do pickups for me and he said it was always easy to place and order. She has a waiting area inside and a small grocery for your quick grabs while you wait.
Parking is nice and the customer service is top tier.
