“I went here for the first time this evening, April 25, 2026. Let me tell you this restaurant was clean from top to bottom. The food was super fresh. It tasted like they just cooked it and I went in the evening. This is the first time I’ve gone to a Nigerian restaurant in the food did not taste like it was days old. I plan on patronizing this restaurant from here on out and no other trust me when I say this is the best Nigeria food in the Dmv area and it is fresh. Excellent customer service there was even a customer who came in to get advice on a recipe. What more can you ask for I would Post pictures of my food, but I dug in before I started this review. I’m not one to typically do reviews, but I had to do one for this restaurant because I have driven past it several times but this is the first time I tried it and it did not disappoint. Sidenote they had white meat chicken for my stew when most places only have dark feet and I don’t eat dark meat so that is an extra plus plus plus***♥️‼️“

“We very much enjoyed Rainbow African Restaurant -West African Cuisine. This place has a dine-in section, but it also does brisk carry-out business.

The decor and atmosphere are very charming and beautiful. I appreciate that there was a quieter place to enjoy our food a bit farther from the TV in the lobby.

I also appreciated the recommendations from the lady taking our order- she was very friendly and helpful. We particularly loved the Bofrot, Peanut Butter Soup, Fufu, Fried Plantains, and Jollof Rice.

The Suya Beef Kabob was quite tasty, but just a little too spicy for my palate (my husband thought it was perfect).

The prices were commensurate with the quality of food.

We're looking forward to returning and trying more dishes!“

“This was a great experience! We were immediately greeted and welcomed. The music was a nice touch and we were able to enjoy a few shows. Our waitress was Josephine and she was kind and friendly, she always checked in to make sure our food was good and if we wanted anything else. The drinks were also amazing. They make a ginger drink with fresh ginger which was strong and bold. It made me feel like my immune system was … . There was also sobolo which had a deep powerful flavor. My favorite was their hibiscus lemonade which was not as strong but had a great flavor. All of their food was outstanding. I enjoyed their peanut butter soup and rice balls. The flavor was great and warmed me up. It felt like I was back in Ghana. This was a great experience and I can’t wait to come back!“
