The new soft-shell crab with tamarind sauce is so yummy and reasonably priced. I will definitely come back for their delectable chimichurri steak. I will definitely come again to try out the banh mi and other lunch options as well as other authentic Vietnamese items. I love that with a menu brimming with authentic Vietnamese dishes, they also offer a tempting array of vegan and exotic options. It's a great addition to the modernized Takoma Park.”

“My friends and I went to Motorkat today after attending a play in Olney. Mikey was our server and was a stellar server. He was friendly yet professional. We came in with an appetite. We started with the smoked salmon and artichoke dip. The portion size was nice, and the chunky texture and flavor fit well with the Saltines. Next was the pistou salad, roasted sunchokes and the pork belly with creamy grits. The pistou salad was artfully plated and was soo good. The roasted sunchokes came with a miso ranch dressing and sesame seeds. It was so good and the mixed textures worked well. The pork belly sat on a bed of the creamiest grits I've ever had. The pork belly was tender, and the smoky tomatoes were a great paring and provided just enough acidity to cut through the richness of the dish. Still hungry, we ordered the flank cut short ribs and broccolini. The grilled broccoli were lighly tossed with chili garlic sauce, peanuts and basil. Divine. The flank cut ribs were Cumin scented and accented with a tart cucumber salad. They were fork tender and very flavorful. Our only disappointment was the scallion Pancake with pickled vegetables. We felt that overall then presentation was nice, but the Pancake was a bit thick and was a bit charred on the bottom. The pickled vegetables overpowered the pancake.. Out meal ended with mango sorbet. Overall, we loved the service Mikey provided, and all the staff was gracious. I highly recommend this spot for dinner. Thank you!”

“I had the lamb and jollof rice. Huge portion and amazing service. It was the perfect amount of spice and smokiness and honestly I over-ate. This is a hidden gem I’m glad I’ve found. Also they pulled out chairs for me so I could sit outside and eat with my dog, great first experience

The carrot cake was the best I've ever had. The cake was moist and well-spiced, and the cream cheese frosting was light and so delicious. The service was wonderful, too. I will be back!”

Got a Iced Caramel Latte and a chocolate muffin and 2 samosas.
It was so good!
Then saw someone recommend Fetira with honey so I got that and another Latte.
Fetira with honey is so good. Reminds me of a Korean sweet pancake. ?
Atmosphere is also amazing and staff was so nice.

They also have an ATM, hookah, ria money transfer available.

“The burritos are great here: fresh ingredients wrapped in a beautiful, almost polished, tortilla.Chilled Jarrito sodas sold here too.I was surprised to find this is a food truck in a quasi-permanent installation near a gas station, but don't let that stop you. And, there is a suitable sit-down space across the street and the Takoma Junction community area including a covered area.One suggestion to the restaurant: add some more sauce options; my personal favorite is chipotle sauce ?”

“My wife and I love this restaurant. We order to-go from here at least twice a month. My wife is a vegetarian and loves the way they use various peppers and onions in her fajita along with the tasty black beans. I love the steak. The food has great flavor!”

Keylein the hostess/server (I hoped I spelled it right) helped with recommendations for ordering online for takeout but also said to call if we needed any help or changes. We ordered 30 to-go combos of 1/4 chicken with Spanish rice and black beans and 30 water bottles. They made the food with great care and all done around an hour! Everyone was super happy and enjoyed the food. Delicious, hot, and great portion sizes. We got extra napkins, willows, and cutlery. Great customer service, food, and price. Recommend checking this out if you're in the area.

We chose Carpe Diem because an older review mentioned “too much cheese” on their pizza. As well all know, there is no such thing.
