I hat going out to eat because the food is always just ok. My wife is an amazing cook so I’m never too impressed, but this was a totally different & unexpected experience! What a treat! “This is an amazing go to for cheap food, that tastes good, and that will fill you up. Don't order appetizers or sushi. All of that stuff is just fluff and will pad out the price. I usually get their chicken meal with white rice and a drink (You can get fried rice for the same price or noodles for a little extra), but for a super low price you can double the chicken. I've never spent over $20 like this and a lot of the time I will have enough for a snack a few hours later.”

“Took my father here on 6/15 for a Father's Day lunch because the one in Northeast DC is closed, and the service was always great. The hostess/greeter and the food were great at this one, too. The service - not so much.??‍♀️ Specifically, the waiter was terrible to the extent that we informed the hostess/greeter. We were not offered water like others were. We had longer wait times to get our drinks, appetizers, and meals while we saw others in bigger parties who came in after us be served. The person who actually brought our food to the table was more engaging than the server, which says a lot... Even after bringing it to the hostess/greeter's attention, nothing changed. I'm not sure we'll return, which is sad because the food is so good and we like supporting Black-owned businesses...”

“I have been coming to this place for a few years. For my South American family's palate, the food is excellent. The problem with the place is that they can't decide if they are a restaurant or a sports bar, and they try to make the place be both. This prevents them from doing one or the other completely well. The music is loud, there are TVs showing sports, it looks dark (it looks darker from outside than it really is because of the tinted windows) and the waitresses dress provocatively even if it is for Sunday breakfast. All of this alienates to potential restaurant customers. And seeing it as a restaurant keeps potential customers away from the bar. Beyond this, the food is very good, the service is very pleasant and the prices are very reasonable--especially in relation to the quality. I will continue to come and bring my family and friends--but during the day.”

“Food was absolutely about as authentic as you can get. Don't except it to come out like your typical "Mexican American" restaurants. It's much more like what you'd expect from a taqueria in Mexico (both food presentation/ menu and atmosphere.)
Waitress claimed to not speak any English. I was really thrown off by the absolutely no English speaking. She wasn't exactly willing to take our orders in English either. Fortunately I speak some Spanish so was able to get around that- to her surprise. Almost like a "no Spanish? No food!" sort of interaction.
Aside from that, the food was definitely super delicious!”

“We consider ourselves conesures of cupcakes. Traveled the US and abroad tasting cupcakes. These were the very worst. Customer service is terrible. Sprinkles, Georgetown, and Heaven Sent Cupcakery Cupcakes exceeds these by leaps and bounds and they all have EXCELLECT Customer service. Oh and their cupcakes are half the price. Sugar Vault is true to its name. The frosting like many have complained has no flavor and measures about a third of a cup in ratio to the cupcake and is unbarerably sweet. The cupcake lacked moisture and was a bit dense. The red velvet did not have a red velvet flavor. Oh and you can't go in to see what you are buying. This is the only bakery that will not allow you to enter even in small numbers rotating thru. Buyer beware...price far exceeds the value. $7 cupcakes, $16 cinnamon roll (haven't yet tried the cinnamon roll). Bought 2 red velvet cupcakes taste tested one and threw the frosting and other cupcake out.”

You just don’t see this quality and value of food often these days anymore in the DMV. Everything was fresh and tasty. I watched the cooks cut the plantains for the platanos frito. So please go visit them often! They deserve to do well.”
