However, I'd still recommend doing a reservation because you can pick your dining experience that way since Ellie Bird certainly has 4 zones of vibe. There is the bar, which has the most attentive service and I actually prefer it on weeknights, but it bumps into the waiting area and they don't really separate the two, so we've had weekend patrons reach between us while dining to order drinks while they wait for a table. The front dining room is buzzy, on theme, and what you probably are expecting if you haven't been here yet, but frequently need a reservation to get seated here. The kitchen counter seating is an interesting experience if you've never done something like that, but each time we've been there, the service has not been as attentative as the other zones. Finally there is the back dining room, which is where you are likely to get seated as a walk-in, especially on a relatively busy night. Don't fret, the food and service are just as good as the front room, but the ambiance is totally different. It feels like a lower tier restaurant back there.”

“We made a reservation arrived on time and we were seated right away. Our server greeted us almost immediately. He took our drink order and gave us a minute to look over the extensive menu. We placed our order. I had a cheeseburger which was cooked exactly as i requested and was delicious. My wife had the turkey burger which was juicy and also delicious. We also ordered the Brussel sprouts which were quite good. Prices were a good value for what was received. The only drawback was the noise level is quite high. There were also alot of children of all ages which contributed to the noise level. All in all we enjoyed our meal and will return.”

I guess expansion and growth (they opened another branch in Arlingnton several years ago) is inevitable and capitalizing on this popularity has its own upside and downside. I ordered their Paa Tad fish dish which did not disappoint but a simple fried fish and for its size, the price was a bit exorbitant for me. I agree with other reviewers that prices are fair and portion is generous. Vibes of the place is interesting and does feel like a typical diner and being in the 70s-80s!”

“Now that the hype has somewhat died down, ramen enthusiasts like me can return and enjoy a bowl of ramen without the crazy wait times. Initially, the restaurant didn't handle crowd control well in their early months. There was no waitlist system, making it hard to justify waiting a couple of hours just for a bowl of ramen. But now that the curious crowd has dispersed, I've come back a few times to check the consistency of the flavor and to see if it might become my go-to spot for ramen. For this visit, we ordered the Classic Omurice Combo with curry sauce and the Spicy Kyushu Tonkotsu. The Omurice Combo really stood out. We chose curry sauce over demi glace, which was a great decision – the curry sauce seemed to have more depth and paired better with the dish, in our opinion. The egg was cooked to perfection, not too thick and not too runny. The Amazing Lemonade drink with cucumber added to the experience, being refreshing and elevating the taste to another level. The Spicy Kyushu Tonkotsu was also impressive. It featured thin slices of pork chashu, similar to my favorite ramen place in NYC. The smoky flavor of the chashu was excellent, adding aroma and depth to the dish. The slightly salty seaweed, along with the soft, sweet bamboo shoots, made for a good combination, enhancing the dish's flavor. The marinated egg, with its balanced taste and just-right cooking, was another highlight. Overall, Kyuramen delivered a memorable meal, with each element of the dishes complementing one another beautifully. The flavor has remained consistent during my recent visits, really standing out. This makes it not only the top spot on my ramen list in VA but also probably my second favorite spot overall in the East Coast. What sets Kyuramen apart is that it's the only ramen place in Northern Virginia that gives you the authentic feel of a ramen store. Sitting at the bar and watching the ramen-making process is a unique experience that adds to the charm. It’s definitely worth visiting for anyone who enjoys a mix of well-prepared flavors and dishes.”

The only reason I'm docking a star is that the portions feel just a tiny bit small for the price tag, and the seating area is pretty tight when it gets busy. “My daughter and I had an absolutely wonderful time at this creperie. She claimed her strawberry nutella crepe was the most delicious crepe she'd ever had, and my Galette Complete (emmental, ham, egg) was perfect — soft but crisp buckwheat exterior with an impeccable barely-set sunny side up egg. Our server Belle was fantastic. Sunny, fast, and also exceptionally patient because I — a grown adult who actually loves math —made a dumb calculation mistake with the bill which she had to correct me on (*face palm*). Cannot recommend this gem of a place enough.”

“I’ve ordered from My Home Thai before and have eaten at the Falls Church restaurant. It’s a beautiful place, and the food is honestly some of the best Thai food I’ve had.
Today my Uber Eats order got mixed up with someone else’s. Before I even had to reach out, the restaurant called me to explain what happened. They told me to keep the food I received and that my order was already on its way.
That meant a lot to me. They could have waited for me to complain, but they took care of it on their own and made sure I got what I ordered. The food already kept me coming back. The way they treated me today made me a loyal customer. Thank you, My Home Thai.”

“I stopped by this price recently to try since its new.
I really liked the ambiance and the service. The decor was very cute and there was plenty of room on a Friday night. Everything was clean and the servers were very attentive and nice.
However, the food was okay to me. I got the chicken pho and felt the chicken was very rubbery. The broth was fine, not super flavorful but passable, and the portion was good. They gave plenty of meat!
I also tried to beef salad. The presentation was beautiful and it looked delicious. I was not expecting the greens to taste bitter, so that just might be personal preference. The beef did not have much flavor, but the meat was tender. Portion size was large and plentiful.
Overall, I feel that the presentation of the food and the interior is very tasteful and you can tell the team really put a lot of thought into the designs and layout of the restaurant. The food parallels the interior design in that the portions felt generous, and the dishes very carefully placed on the dishes in an appealing manner. I do think food taste and texture can be improved. Particularly the chicken pho, where the chicken was rubbery. And the beef salad: perhaps more flavor on the beef and less bitter greens.”
