The duck is average. Fried snow pea leaves and mapo tofu are the dishes you must get. The tofu in mapo tofu is so silky soft that it feels like they make them from scratch. We made it easy for our patient and attentive waiter by ordering two Thai iced tea and the Bento Box A with beef teriyaki. Everything was cooked and prepared to perfection. Starting with the Thai iced tea; which was almost like a dessert. So smooth and sweet! It complimented the meal. The miso soup was comforting and had a balanced ratio of broth, tofu, greens, and green onion. The salad was fresh, crisp, and dressed with a rich and tasty peanut dressing. Of course, the highlight of our meal was the incredible bento boxes. The tempura shrimp and vegetables were my favorite. They were breaded to ideal crispiness and paired well with the soy dipping sauce. The vegetables were one big broccoli floret and large sliced carrot and zucchini medallions. The teriyaki steak was scrumptious, served on a bed of cabbage slaw with a generous amount of sauce. There was enough for me to dip other box components into, like the California rolls, tofu, and the Japanese dumpling. We dusted off everything. Not even the leftover salad dressing remained because we drank it all up! The whole experience was so much fun and we had a blast. Can't wait to go back. We left feeling satisfied and can add this to our list of happy memories!“

I could not make a a decision on what I wanted but ended up ordering the chicken with broccoli with fried rice. The fried rice is $1 extra. The chicken and broccoli came out hot! The texture of the chicken was a little off. The rice didn't come out at the same time as my entree. I also ordered the Pokémon roll. The roll was huge and very delicious. “I've been eager to try Eerkin's Uyghur Cuisine for a few months now! My pal and I ventured to the Fairfax location and were excited to try out a variety of Uyghur specialties. The ambiance of the restaurant was quaint and cozy. From the checkered table cloth to yellow walls, I loved how simple and classic all of the decor was alongside Uyghur artifacts. You can really tell Eerkin's is a lively establishment that embodies pieces of Uyghur culture everywhere you turn. I'd also like to applaud the ability for this restaurant to bring together families and friends from all cultures - absolutely beautiful to witness! The service was incredible! Our servers made sure to give us accurate wait times for our food to be ready. They ensured that if a table was available they would let us know and they did just that! We decided to eat the food out of the to-go boxes to save on cleanup, but they were so kind and offered to provide us with additional plates if needed. We started off with two Lamb Kebabs and Samsa, a bun with minced beef, onion, and seasoned with black pepper. The kebabs were tasty bites sprinkled with cumin/house spices that were a great start to the meal. The Samsa was a bit on the heavier side with a strong meaty and onion flavor. Think a meat pie with great spice! We then got the Homemade Laghman - hand-pulled noodles with stir fried lamb and an assortment of onions and peppers. I really enjoyed how the juices from the lamb was essentially the sauce that bound the peppers and onions. Phenomenal! To finish off, we got the Khhazan Lamb Kabab with naan. I really loved the cut on this lamb and thought it paired perfectly with buttery, soft Uyghur naan. The lamb was slightly spicy and packed a great flavor that submerge throughout the naan. Very unique taste that was delectable. The meats were divine! Eerkin's spice mix of a spicy red chili and cumin that was savory in the best way possible. Each were bursting with flavor, incredibly juicy, and were cooked just right. Amazing, quality food and I cannot wait to come back to try more. A fantastic introduction to Uyghur Cuisine - a new favorite of mine!“

Actually, I wonder if someone has calculated the number of possible bowl combination. This location is pretty clean with a decent amount of seating for small parties (2-3 people). Also, thought the workers at this location were EXTREMELY friendly and polite. While I wouldn't go out of my way to eat at a BIBIBOP, I definitely would revisit this location if I'm in the mood for a rice and noodle bowl and in the area (e.g., within 4-8 blocks of this location).“

“Isshin has one of the BEST service in Adams Morgan. May is the woman who always helps me. I think she’s the manager. She keeps that place running swiftly and smoothly. During the pandemic, Isshin made every effort to keep their place sanitized and customers safe by using PPE and placing hand sanitizers all around. The staff works super fast to get meals ready for you. They always go above and beyond to offer excellent service. I had to order spicy shrimp rice and I was going to arrive close to closing time, May kept Isshin open until I arrived (5 mins late) to pick up my food. I only live 3 blocks away but once I was not able to pick up my food from Isshin. May immediately said, “if you live close, I’ll deliver for you.” And she did just that and as usual with a very pleasant demeanor and genuine smile. May and her team at Isshin make this restaurant one of the best in Adams Morgan. Thank you May and Isshin!!!“
“This is our favorite sushi place in Old Town. Have been coming here since they opened maybe five years ago. The owner used to be a sushi chef at MoMo Sushi, which used to be our local favorite. His sushi here has consistently been top quality whereas we were disappointed with quality once or twice at MoMo and its always too cramped. We usually get the sushi combo.“

Great substitute for Szechuan Great Wall which unfortunately closed down a few weeks ago. This is the closest that one can come to authentic chinese food in the district. Service was quick and friendly as the cashier was very welcoming as we were deciding on which dish.
