I came in on a random Thursday night looking for “just a little broth,” and left spiritually healed, emotionally supported, and feeling that heat through my body in the best way possible.

John, the owner, deserves his flowers immediately. Man recommended the Szechuan base like a seasoned hotpot therapist, and as a certified hot-pepper survivor, I can confidently say my taste buds were doing backflips. The spice level didn’t just knock on the door — it moved in, paid rent, and redecorated the place okay!

And honestly? I love the vibe here. It’s not trying too hard to be some ultra-modern, neon-sign “aesthetic” restaurant where the chairs hurt your back and the menu needs subtitles. It’s simple, cozy, and feels real. The kind of spot where ordinary people can sit down, exhale, cook good food, and temporarily forget their problems in a bubbling pot of happiness.

“We have lived here a long time and have yet to find a very good takeout Chinese restaurant in the area. We have had two dinners now with panda bear and I must say they both been outstanding. The food is well presented comes with the proper compliments and is always ready when you get to the restaurant.

“I recently visited this spot and had an absolutely wonderful experience from the moment I walked through the doors. If you're looking for fantastic Asian cuisine, this place definitely needs to be on your radar.

The staff made us feel right at home immediately, and one of my favorite highlights was the complimentary hot tea they provided right as we sat down. It’s such a comforting, traditional touch that really sets a relaxing tone for a great meal.

​As for the menu, the food was simply great. Everything we ordered came out piping hot, beautifully plated, and packed with incredible flavor. You can tell they really care about the quality of their ingredients and the authenticity of their dishes. The meal completely exceeded my expectations.

“I just ordered takeout from China Express for the first time and I am happily surprised! I ordered takeout to pick up on their website where I tipped (you also sign a receipt where it gives you another opportunity to tip, so just decide beforehand how you want to). The website said it would take about 30 minutes for my order to be ready, and it was ready in about 40. I ordered the wonton soup, a side of fried ride, and the hunan beef. I do think that I was given the hunan chicken by mistake, but no complaints because it is quite good. The wonton soup is definitely the star of the show— highly recommend!“

“I have eaten here for 35 years whenever I'm in the area. I love that Good Fortune is still here, though the owners have changed over the years. I'm so glad that they have vegan options now (as I'm now vegan!). They have all the old school, classic Chinese-American dishes but veganized. Very extensive vegan menu. “I went here for my birthday for the first time. I ordered the unagi don that was very delicious honestly 10/10. My family told our waitress it was my birthday and they gave me this adorable balloon rose, along with 2 slices of cake( one small cheesecake slice with yuzu, and a chocolate chestnut cake).

The cheesecake was lovely and I’m sure the chocolate one was too but I refrained since I’m allergic to tree nuts. The presentation of the dishes looked elegant and the food came out at a good time. ● Fresh shrimp summerroll: it was fresh and done the right way, and the peanut sauce was good.
● Chiken spring roll: was crispy and not greasyat all, I did not like the souce that comeswith it (you need to make a new soice please).
● Dumpling: I had netter, can be much better.
● Pho beef combination: was just perfectly done, the broth was flavorful so as a whole it was just delicious.

Food quality was great and fresh, survise was really good and fast.

The trinket I bought wasn't expensive. There's a free parking lot that wasn't too full. The restaurant seems to be run by a dad who both cooks the food and mans the register/phone. His kids were there too (not disruptive or anything though). He seemed to be a dad putting in a lot of work to make ends meet. I hope his restaurant continues to be successful. The trinkets and decorations were very endearing.“

“This place is kind of difficult to find as it is in the 3rd level on Union Station. I dined here at 4:30pm on a Tuesday and the place was empty. I had the curry laksa noodle which I had never tried before. I'm not sure if this is how they serve it normally but it had two different kinds of noodles. The soup was a bit salty to my taste but it was filling and overall quite good. I would definitely go again if I have to wait before a train.“
