I've eaten here twice and enjoyed it on both occasions. My first was a takeout order which was 2 of their specialty rolls, a red dragon roll and a pink lady roll, both delicious. Today I dined in and had their Yellowtail platter, which was sashimi, sushi, one regular yellowtail maki roll, and one spicy yellowtail maki roll. The meal also came with Miso soup.

I sincerely had the best sushi at this restaurant, and even though I had eaten sushi for a long time, I had never felt so welcomed by the waiters and the chef! Not only it is a family owned place, but they make you feel like part of their family too. I laughed, had great conversations and ate the best food. Certainly I will come back!
This place is great. I’m so glad they moved into the neighborhood.

Taku Sushi & Bar is a restaurant on H street with really good sushi and some great deals. The dinner and lunch specials are great, offering one of the best deals in the district. The deluxe sashimi and rolls, including the spicy California roll, are all delicious. The staff and owner are friendly and helpful. The service is friendly without being over-the-top. The restaurant is not usually busy. It is a favorite sushi spot and will be in the regular rotation for many. A bonus is that you can BYOB while they wait for their alcohol license.
