In short, I came in just looking for a quick lunch, and left feeling like I just had a Michelin-star dining experience. It was, you could say, Surreal. I highly recommend this place.”

Again, we ended up at a “safe” spot we like to visit. The food and service were good, but it was just our usual go-to. Fast forward to last week: my best friend from Puerto Rico came to visit with his family. He loves to eat, and his wife can be hard to please. This time, we decided to go to Sabores Tapas Bar. I’ll admit, I was nervous—I wanted them to have a great experience, but pleasing everyone is never easy. Finally, we went. What can I say? The food was amazing, and the service was just as incredible. It was so good we couldn’t stop eating. I had high expectations—growing up, my house was always full because my friends came over for my mom’s cooking. She’s an amazing cook. Mom, forgive me for saying this, but Sabores Tapas Bar is as good as, if not better than, your cooking, and the service was amazing. Wow. I’ve found the place. It’s so good that I want to go back and try dishes I normally don’t like, just to see if they can make me love them. I can’t wait to return. My taste buds have found the love of their life at Sabores Tapas Bar.”

The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was some of the best Thai we have ever had. The Pad Thai was amazing. The Hang Over Noodles (Drunken Noodles) was exceptional. And the red curry was by far the best I’ve had in the area. The ambiance was quite pleasant as well. Initially we were sat in an area that was a little noisy for our taste, but they graciously moved us to a much quieter section. The owner, Nancy came over after our meal and was very appreciative of our comments on the meal. She shared with us that she personally picks the freshest ingredients she can find to ensure the quality of the food. I would highly recommend Soul Thai to everyone. We will be coming back soon. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was some of the best Thai we have ever had. The Pad Thai was amazing. The Hang Over Noodles (Drunken Noodles) was exceptional. And the red curry was by far the best I’ve had in the area. The ambiance was quite pleasant as well. Initially we were sat in an area that was a little noisy for our taste, but they graciously moved us to a much quieter section. The owner, Nancy came over after our meal and was very appreciative of our comments on the meal. She shared with us that she personally picks the freshest ingredients she can find to ensure the quality of the food. I would highly recommend Soul Thai to everyone. We will be coming back soon. We were greeted with open arms, sat immediately, and served with absolute professionalism. My food (the fish) was so good I considered licking the plate. They don’t necessarily have a kid’s menu but offered numerous things to make a toddler. I went with the burger and fries. They complimented this with numerous dipping sauces and made the burger to order. The charge was minimal and fair. I always clean up after him as toddlers can be messy and they insisted on letting them clean up (I did it anyway). Restrooms were spotless and the kitchen area you pass was very clean and well organized. It’s a small spot full of big talent. This will be a regular for us. A must dine.”

Our waiter, Scott made the experience seamless. Didn't think the cocktails were worth the price point to be honest. The one thing is that it can be a little noisy due to the shape of the room. All in all, totally worth it, and I will be back!”

The burgers were fresh, crispy, and cooked perfectly, with those smashed burger patties getting that delicious crispy edge while still staying juicy inside. The Juicy Lucy was definitely the highlight! 🍔
The shakes were also really good — thick, creamy, and a great pairing with the burger.
Overall, fresh ingredients, crispy smash patties, and great flavor. Definitely worth checking out if you’re in DC and craving a solid burger!”

The squid paella was just okay for our family, but the service was good and the outdoor seating was a nice touch. We’ve also been to the Bethesda location, and personally, I prefer the Bethesda location for the overall experience.”

But more than that, the level of service and attention and just general kindness was outstanding. The owner and his staff, again, are great. Five stars.
