“My family and I were in the neighborhood, and I was in the mood for an iced coffee beverage. A quick google search revealed several places in the Ballston area and after parking near a playground we turned the corner and happened upon a little cart. Turned out to be Ballstonian Urban Patisserie. Not only was the gentleman who ran the cart the most humble and friendly human being I have ever met, but his description of the Iced Turkish Chocolate Cafe Mocha with a blend of several spices sounded intriguing. I ordered a couple since the wife was in tow and it turned out to be one of the best life decisions I have ever made.

Think chocolate with cardamom, cinnamon, honey, ginger and paprika amongst other things. If heaven was a coffee cart this was it.
I walked back over after we finished playing with my son on the playground to shake his hand and let him know that that was the BEST iced coffee drink I have ever had. The spice on the back end alone was enough but the combination of flavors was straight up outer space. I am a true fiend for coffee, and I will drive back down soon in the future to grab another.

BTW he thanked me with a firm handshake, and several thank you's, but also gave me a free half cup of the iced mocha.

The restaurant has quite a bit of seating inside and free wifi with some seating outside as well. They had great service and the coffee was excellent. “Listen. I only go here for the Chocolate de Abuela (Cuban hot chocolate). I’ve never tried anything else on the menu. It’s so hard to find bougie hot chocolate in this town. In the fall and winter, they put a Cuban style marshmallow in the bottom of the cup and it’s so decadent. But in the spring and summer, the marshmallow disappears but I think they still charge the same for this drink. Offer the marshmallow year round!! Or at least give us a little discount in the spring/summer for our sorrow. One time I went and the marshmallow wasn’t back yet and I left, saying “see you in two weeks” haha.“

“I had an amazing experience at this restaurant! I brought guests with me to introduce them to Ethiopian culture and cuisine, and Meda truly exceeded my expectations. The food was incredibly authentic, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. The service was exceptional as well. Hanna was very attentive, welcoming, and friendly throughout our visit, which made the experience even more enjoyable. I will definitely be coming back again! Fun and imaginative doughnut options and their expansive and nutritious menu has plenty to discover.Their coffee and drink options are superb.I’d suggest the Murphy special and their dirty chais are superb.For doughnuts, I’d got for a couple classics and a fun looking one that catches your eye (special points to mocha espresso, classic cake, and jam filled)

“This is one of my favorite bakeries in the area. I mean truth be told, I live in Bowie Maryland and travel to Arlington specifically for this bakery. If you live in the DMV, then you know how significant this is.

If you’re a really coffee drinker you’d come here. Even if you’re into more dessert type coffee they do have the flavors for you.“

I ordered an iced latte with tiramisu syrup, and it was spectacular!
The croissant with a cookie [crookie] is an interesting combo, but pretty tasty. It's a bit sweet, so if you're not a huge fan of overly sweet things, I wouldn't recommend ordering it. I had to separate the cookie from the filled croissant because I think it was a bit too much for me (it was super good btw).
The service in general was good, and the outdoor benches are very nice

“At this particular one I had no issues, but many get my drink wrong. And is only 4 shots of expresó over Ice. Very simple! Is never the same and I know in many occasions I definitely didn't get all my 4 shots and I have had to ask to be made again and you can see the difference. I usually go to Starbucks from 2-4 times everyday and I'm not picky but is very annoying when a simple drink can't be made right.“
