“I am always on the lookout for local coffee shops. And this one didn't disappoint. Great coffee, and people were also too nice. cafe was nicely decorated and has good seating space. I was in Arlington for 3 days and came here to get coffee every single day.“
“The ambiance of this coffee shop is soooo stellar and cute!! Service was great and fast, even with a line. I tried the horchata coffee which I wasn't the biggest fan of - I'm not exactly sure why to be honest. I will definitely return to try something else! Another wish I had - it is not great for a gluten free person - I would suggest that La Coop consider gluten free bread and/or pastry options!“
“They're doing an excellent job of carrying the torch in a spot that has served as a neighborhood staple coffee shop for decadesBeware, they've found major traction on social media over the last year or so, and are well-deservedly extremely crowded every weekend morning as a result“
“Been seeing the "coming soon" signs at this place all last year and had a chance to try last night, as me and my wife didn't feel like cooking and it was a Friday night! The Three empanadas, drink and a 1 sauce is decently priced at $16 for a filling meal. Parking is limited and there are no tables for groups. You're better off ordering for pickup. My favorite is the Spicy Pork empanada filled with pork, black beans and corn. For reference, the spice level of the Spicy Pork and their "Mild" sauce is about that of Taco Bell "Fire" sauce. At 6PM, a lot of their menu items were sold out or otherwise not available. Looks like this place is better at lunchtime. Since it's hard to get parking, I would either park at the garage across the street and walk 4 minutes, or order for pickup or to delivery. Unfortunately, there would not be enough seating to bring work colleagues here. Better to organize an empanada party at the office. VIDEO“
“Ethiopian Guy started his first kaldis in silver spring ,md and expanded to Arlington.Service and quality always been consistant with the brand everytime i'm stoping by and just wanna give props to the managment, baristas, chefs and team members ?“
“Absolutely amazing customer service and quality of food. They are accommodating for dietary restrictions and were very helpful talking to me about gluten free options. They offer GF toast and are accommodating to warm it up separately from other bread and wearing gloves to avoid cross contamination. 10/10 experience hereDietary restrictions: Gluten free bread available“
“Great spot to pick up some sweet treats. But their coffee is not the best... The interior ambiance is very clean, simple, and pretty to the eye. The service here is great and the staff are all nice. I would recommend this spot more for snacks/ food/ treats, than coffee.“
“We literally just flew back from New Orleans, and immediately longing NOLA's cuisine. We drove all the way from Baltimore in a rainstorm because of the crazed reviews. The reviewers stated that you MUST try the spiced cider, biscuit breakfast sandwich, deviled eggs, and the king cake. I opted for the biscuit breakfast sandwich, spicy potatoes, and spiced apple cider. WOW, just wow--the biscuit breakfast sammy was celestial. I wish I would have ordered two. Clean unisex bathrooms. If you plan to order beignets, don't wear black or dark clothing. Service is only at the counter due to the order grab and sit system. Self-bus dining style. Easy parking across the street which if you come on the weekends, after you eat or grab coffee at Bayou, you can skip over to the Arlington Farmer's Market.“
“The space is fantastic with plenty of seating. If you are a work from a coffee shop type of person this is perfect for you! It also has a huge amount of seating outside for when the weather is nice. It is sort of tucked away which gives it a cozy feel. The coffee is great and everyone is very kind! Highly recommend!“
“was so impressed by the quality of the coffee and the service here! I’m a real beanhead, if you will, so I am by no means easy to please, but Brian bowled me over with his expertise as he patiently explained the menu to my less-cultured brother, who is not as much of a connoisseur as myself. Brian recommended the cortado and the cappuccino to us, and we were both wowed—I even learned something myself! would highly recommend to other coffee sophisticates and anyone looking to have a hot drink served with a warm smile.“
“This was my first time getting takeaway from Chill Zone on recommendation from family and friends. Overall, the food was delicious, the cafe was very cozy, and the service was great BUT I found a piece of what I assume was stainless steel wool in my vermicelli chicken bowl--I spotted it immediately upon opening the box, so quality control appears to be lacking. This was super disappointing because otherwise, this would've been a five-star experience.“
“Great food! Small, hidden gem off Columbia Pike. Almost couldn’t find it. My sons first time trying Ethiopian. He had the awaza tibs and I had vegetarian combo, but plenty to share! The lentils had some spice, loved them. Great, spongy injera. We will return!“
“Absolutely perfect. So glad we found this place. The coffee is excellent, and the food totally slaps. I had the shakshuka. It had the perfect serving size, perfect temperature, and perfect flavor. Little bit of spice, lots of savory, eggs cooked just right. Bread was well toasted and the perfect accompaniment. My cold brew was very good as well. I liked the ordering system too. It was easy and efficient. 10/10 will eat again“
“A great, casual, local cafe and bakery with amazing pastries. We keep trying new things on the menu every time we go and everything so far has been delicious. There are good savoury and sweet options such as the smoked salmon croissant and the brioche donut. You can also grab whole cakes and small gifts if you’re entertaining at home. The staff have always been friendly and helpful whenever we have been there. The cafe has a laidback atmosphere - I often see people working or catching up in there.“
“Stopped by here with my sister and ordered a pork and cheese popusa and the Guatemalan style steak, which came with Pico, avocado, rice, beans, 2 tortillas, and a cheese whose name eludes me but was delicious. Everything was fantastic. The portions were generous, the tortillas were made in house and delicious, and the steak was well seasoned and cooked perfectly. All together, it was about $20 which was a bargain for the quantity and quality. Our waitress was super sweet and the atmosphere is great. I will be coming back. I've been to tons of south American places and I can say this is one of my favorites. I will definitely be coming back“
“This shop is very unsuspecting... My friends and I were on our way to another bakery when we walked past Bakeshop- we didn't think much of as it was a small and cozy shop; but I am so glad we tried it. They offered a lot of non-basic flavors for macarons, and a lot of cupcake options. They also offered cookie sandwiches as well. Taro Macaron: 3.8 of 5 - it tasted "sweet with a hint of taro" Pandan Macaron: 5 of 5 - I loved this macaron so much, the taste of the Pandan really came through with each bite I highly recommend checking out this bakeshop; I would definitely come back for their Pandan and to try other macarons!“
“Visit was, Sunday, Jan 7, 2024. We will be back. The staff is pleasant, and the bathrooms are clean. The heat was a tad too warm, but that’s because it was a warmer day. All seats were full, but it was still very spacious with wonderful natural lighting.“
“I loooove bubba tea. Came to this location in Ballston Quarter. I always get the Taro Milk Tea at any bobba tea shop and this time was no different. The drink was not overly too sweet, it was just right. I enjoyed this drink. Would be back here when I'm in the area.“
“During our recent visit to our son in Falls Church, VA, my wife and I had the pleasure of dining at TNR Cafe, a Chinese restaurant recommended by our son. He often frequents this establishment, so we decided to try it out. We ordered a few dishes for takeout, and we were blown away by the incredible flavors and perfect cooking. The Vegetable Spring Rolls were light and crispy, the Taiwanese-style Rice Noodles were delicious, and the Sauteed Lo Mein with Vegetables was flavorful and satisfying. The Kung Pao Chicken and Sweet & Sour Chicken were also standouts, with tender and succulent meat in both dishes. Overall, we had a fantastic dining experience and highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great meal in Arlington, VA.“
“What a fabulous Saturday night evening spent here. I’m dog sitting for dear friends and found myself solo, hungry, and wanting to eat out in Bailey’s crossroads / Columbia Forest. I happened to come here this morning to grab a cappuccino to go (which was fabulous) and decided venture here for dinner as well. I cannot wait to bring my friends back here and try more items. As it is Ramadan, there was a lovely dinner buffet option (as well as a la carte) but I went with the buffet and had the opportunity to try many of their lentil and vegetable options paired with a fantastic selection of domestic and Ethiopian beers (drafts and bottles). I topped off the night with their Ethiopian spiced tea while listening to live music. Service was beyond phenomenal. Everyone here, staff and patrons, are here to enjoy each other’s company.“
“South Block is a relaxed spot that specializes in health-conscious options. Their menu, though small, offers great prices and includes cold-pressed juices, healthy toast, smoothies, and acai bowls. I had the pleasure of trying the peanut blast smoothie with added bananas, and it was absolutely delicious. The customer service was top-notch, with speedy and attentive service. The interior design was pleasing, and the establishment was impressively clean. I'm eagerly anticipating trying their acai bowls next time. I was soengrossed in the deliciousness that I forgot to snap a photo of the smoothie!“
“A cute little ice cream shop located near the Italian Store and across the street from Lost Dog. Its a great stop after a lunch or dinner for a quick dessert. The service was very friendly. Its a fairly basic traditional shop inside with minimal seating except for a countertop area. They offer all the usual flavors plus a handful of unique ones, and a decent selection of toppings. There really isn't anything unique here, but for an ice cream shop, that's not a bad thing!“
“Gong Cha is the OG and there's a reason they're everywhere! Lots of flavor selections, quick service, and good tasting bubble tea. Ordering with the kiosk can be a bit weird because for some reason you can't change sugar or ice level on some drinks, but if you order at the counter the staff can make those modifications for you. I ordered a classic - dirty brown sugar milk tea with boba. The boba was excellent! Not super chewy, but not hard either. Went down easily and tasted great. The brown sugar milk tea tasted like brown sugar, not much to speak on there. Will be here whenever I'm in Rosslyn and have a hankering for bubble tea.“
“This store is a breath of fresh air, a lovely respite from a world flooded with cheap, artificial, one-time-use products. Trade Roots is curated with thoughtful gifts, clothes, home decor, jewelry, and knick knacks. I walked in recently and immediately saw the perfect gifts for some friends. Everything here is so beautiful and unique. It's not one of those boutiques where everything is just resold from Amazon with a green washed label. The Trade Roots website explains why the fair trade, sustainable mission is important to the store. The food and drinks are delicious here, too! There is some seating inside, as well as tables outside that face the main drag in Westover. Come for a chai and some housewares, leave feeling happy.“
“Great little coffee shop.Friendly baristas, lead by one of the friendliest voices, Carter.Since the first time I walked in, Carter made me feel like a regular. One of my favorite things is there’s just enough room. What I mean by that is there aren’t many seats but asking to share a table sometimes wakes me up more than my coffee.Never had a bad experience doing that in the month I was going there.Looking forward to next time I visit.“
“I think having a compass drive through is a pretty epic amenity ! The coffee is hot / beans are smooth / staff is fabulous / service is quick ! I haven't been inside but what I see from the windows looks beautiful. Thrilled to have them !!!“
“Been here multiple times and the food quality is pretty good overall. Great place to grab a bite and work/study.The menu was very confusing. You flip through multiple pages of what appears to be haphazardly put together. I’d recommend they update them to simplify.“
“Went here for casual lunch with coworkers and had not been before (but a coworker had been here before) and was super happy with what we got. I got the garlic rice veggie bowl with peanut sauce. I liked the crispy tofu, garicky rice, and the vegetables were perfectly cooked. My only regret was not getting the crispy spring rolls. I really enjoyed the large portion size for price and if you cannot finish you can get lids that they have to go.Lunch is really busy and it’s chaotic but it was fast given the lunch rush and it’s super casual. I am looking forward to going back!Vegetarian options: Has veggie options“
“Super cute cafe! I didn't realize it was inside of the Ted's Bulletin. The Cinnamon Toast Crunch latte was delicious with pieces of the actual cereal in it. The sidekicks were good as well, 2 is a great breakfast but they need some sort of sauce!! Like an aioli or mayo idk. Cashier was nice!“
“Overall a clean place with fresh food. I got the Mediterranean chicken wrap and it was good, but the chicken was a tad dry. The vegetables were fresh and the right texture. I do wish it had more tzatziki sauce. The onion rings were crunchy and hot, but 6 for almost $5 felt a little steep. The service was quick and we were in and out in a few minutes. Would I come back? Yes. Would I recommend for a quick lunch? Also yes“
“Crowded but I understand why! Food is delicious and fairly priced. Every dish is a work of art. Excellent choice if you are gluten free. GF menu has tons of choices and dishes are wonderfulDietary restrictions: Extensive and delicious gluten Free menu“
“I stopped by this store because of an outage on the metro rail. I decided to turn around and go back home, but I decided to come here first to get a coffee to hold me over until I got home. I've never been to a Peet's store before, but I've loved their coffee for a long time now.The coffee I got was great, zero complaints with the cup I received. The barista's were very friendly and the store as a whole was very very well kept. I'll def be trying to visit again if for whatever reason I get off in Clarendon again.“
“I love Duck Donuts. I gave up sweets for the Lenten Season and could not think of any place else to have a sweet and savory snack on a Thursday afternoon. Staff is very friendly, donuts are made to order and are hot, gooey, messy.make sure to got a pile of napkins, and absolutely delicious. Bacon in the sun is my must have.“
“This may be my new favorite place to work in Rosslyn. For Five is somewhere between an upscale coffee shop and restaurant so if you're planning on ordering food, expect around a $20 bill. The interior decorator for this location did a fantastic job as there's plenty of space for remote work with the option of sitting in a cozy loft area.I ordered a turkey sandwich and a coffee both of which were fantastic!“
“We are not from the Arlington area, so this was our first experience with a Nordstrom Espresso Cafe. The young woman who took care of us could not have been nicer. She was very patient with all our uncertainties and offered helpful tips. Our breakfast sandwich and warm blueberry muffin and excellent coffee were delicious and very satisfying.“
“Starbucks app shows order ahead is available, and looking at the numbers of drinks waiting to be picked up, it appears to be true. The app said they were out of stock of my breakfast sandwich, but the person behind the counter delivered. The line went quickly and the four ladies working delivered quickly. The ambiance was of a normal kiosk starbucks in an airport.“
“This is my favorite Starbucks in the area!! Even in nicer neighborhoods of the DMV you don't get treated as well as you do here. I am regularly impressed with how friendly and patient the employees are at this Starbucks. They greet people as they enter the store and say bye when they leave. Even when they are super busy, the employees are in good spirits and even make small talk. Last week, even though it was 40 degrees out, there was an employee standing outside the front door handing out free drink and pastry samples to anyone who passed; I asked if she was too cold and she said, no I feel good! Love this place and always choose to get my coffee here. I'll admit there isn't a ton of space to sit or work from inside this location, but you can walk to Ballston Quarter and find seating there if needed.“
“Seriously an underrated Starbucks location! They have both a drive thru and in store pick up option. If you order through the app, your order will be ready for pick up on time. Just be sure to pick it up through walk in because the drive-thru line is always so long, it isn't worth the wait (especially if you're in a rush). As for the beverages, they make my drinks perfectly. I have a tendency to order iced drinks more often and it's a well balance ratio of milk and ice. Pink drinks and the matcha lattes are my favorite. The staff are also very friendly and quick with servicing customers inside the store. I've seen them buss tables as soon as people leave so others may sit down. It has a decent work environment but I would say the noise level is about average to what you would expect from a cafe (not ideal for intense studying or professional work meetings).“

“Lydia and Helen are up early to make sure people can begin their day with great coffee and kind smiles! I so appreciate their hospitality and expertise. Lydia is an excellent barista.Very convenient for those staying at any of the several hotels in the area, this shop is located in the lobby of Renaissance. They have several sandwiches, pastries and snacks available as well as hot and cold beverages. They have indoor or outdoor seating, or you can take to go. Remember to ask for a mug if you are enjoying your order in their restaurant or in the beautiful lobby of the hotel…one less cup to the landfill.Update: I went by a bit earlier today and the commuter crowd was lined up. Helen was handling the barista counter and got everyone their orders quickly, with that wonderful smile and the quality perfect, as expected!“
“I love the (fairly) new drive-thru Starbucks on Lee Highway. I always order via the app and pick up in the drive-thru. The employees are fabulous - friendly, attentive and helpful. I have rarely had any mistakes on my order, but the few times I have the employee quickly and cheerfully apologized and corrected the order. The most impressive thing about this very busy location is how the inconveniently laid out parking lot is striped in lanes - one for drive-thru customers and one that passes alongside it so customers who need to park can still easily enter and exit one of the two parking areas. It all runs very smoothly provided the cars in line don't block the parking areas, which most people are conscientious about avoiding.“
“Every time I come to Union Kitchen, the staff, the food, and the coffee are always great - they keep me coming back (so much so that I think I come almost 5 days a week - both weekdays and weekends). Even though it’s located right next to Compass Coffee and serves the same brand, I enjoy the coffee here so much better. Not to mention, the line is much shorter. Aside from the coffee, food, and ambiance, I definitely need to shout out all the kind, personable people that I interact with - you can’t go wrong with any of these amazing people preparing your food, making your coffee, or taking your order: Bryan, Paola, Deniz, Daisy, Mary, Amina, and Gerardo.Kid-friendliness: My kids are very picky eaters and I would come here almost every Saturday and Sunday with them. We’ve always felt welcome and accommodated. I would get them either sides of sausage or sides of bacon with croissants and a cup of milk. There are also some games available for entertainment (jenga, connect 4, chess, and others).“
“The interior of this Starbucks is much more spacious compared to other Arlington locations and reminded me of the ones I used to study at back in high school in Metro Detroit. The interior has lots of tables and seating, and it wasn't crowded this Saturday afternoon. I got a Strawberry Acai Refresher because it was so hot and I was super parched, and the barista made it within a couple minutes. Pretty average drink, overall, not the best I've ever had but it did its job.“
“I think their menu descriptions are confusing for those who don't order a ton of bobba tea. Some of the items I thought with come with bobba, didn't and the names for the tapioca bubbles was different then I had seen before. The passion fruit green tea was great, one of my favorite items. I got a roasted chestnut milk tea with tapioca bubbles and was really confused on what the other item in the bottom was (was it nuts, was it candy?). I think for those with allergies or who are new to the tea world would really benefit for some better descriptions.“
“My friend had her baby shower upstairs, and I fell in love with the place. I’d driven by it many times, but had never gone in. I was surprised by how cozy and welcoming the space was. There was a ton of meter parking right out front. The woman who helped us plan the shower was Kelly. She is AMAZING! She was sooo helpful and very professional. I made sure to save her info for our next event! Wonderful experience all around.“
