“Doi Moi is a Vietnamese fusion street food restaurant with a vibrant and modern interior design. It caters to people of all ages who love Vietnamese cuisine. The dishes served at the restaurant are incredibly delicious, and the drinks are equally impressive. Whether you're looking to share a meal with friends or to grab a drink after work, Doi Moi is the perfect spot.“
“Food was great. It was our second experience of Ethiopian food in DC during the Presidents day weekend. The staff made accommodations for our kid who does not tolerate spicy food. We ordered the Family Vegetarian Platter which was more than enough for two well-eating adults. Our kid loved the fish filet as well.“
“Tried out the Royal for date night. Cocktails are incredible. Unfortunately, we were on the exterior patio (not connected to the restaurant) so that + online ordering system almost made it feel like we weren’t really in the atmosphere. Food is well presented. Overall it was $150 for two rounds of drinks and 3 small plates, with very little interaction with service. Probably better bang for your buck at happy hour than a full on meal.“
“This is a gem of a spot in Cleveland Park! I discovered it one day and now I’m a regular and have started bringing my friends. Who all have said they wanna come back. The restaurant is small, but intimate and the food is amazing. The Scallops are a must try. Every time I’ve gone and sat at the bar and have always had an amazing experience. Kyle & Victor are so knowledgeable on their wines and just make the experience 10x better. The playful pairings on the menu are also another highlight and a lot of fun. Definitely a spot worth checking out!“
“We had the best time at KooKoo DC last night. They accommodated a table of 14 for my spouse's birthday and never let us feel like an imposition. The food was so fresh, authentic, and reasonably priced - I did a double take when we got the bill. I even felt like we went all-out with apps, drinks, and desserts! The owner was also so kind - we just felt so cared for the whole time and can't wait to visit again.“
“Quaint and authentic. The Ethiopian and American options are phenomenal and the family atmosphere was welcoming. Our food was tasty and fulfilling. We actually had two meals from our breakfast sandwiches. Hearty! Will try something new next time I visit and maybe enjoy the outside patio when it’s warmer. Definitely one of my new favs :-)Parking: Residential street is “permit only” for most of the day. There may be more availability on Georgia Avenue.“
“Went for my daughter's birthday.Food was above average, the star i took away was due to kebab being burnt from one side ,but the rest tasted great .The ribs, adana and everything we ordered tasted like authentic turkish food. There was one man on the floor who was running like a headless chicken but was serving 6 tables. The place was jam packed and a bit noisy for us, therefore, took a star away. The manager was great because he catered my request.Overall a good experience.RecommenedParking: Parking lot right next to the restaurant. We paid $13 for 2 hours on Saturday. It was not charging hourly but for just parking so flat rate“
“I LOVE this place. Super excited to hear they had nut free pesto. Went on vacation in DC and ended up stopping at multiple locations got to try the newly opened Alexandria too! Everyone was super nice, we caught them right before they closed and we got a few pastries!“
“D Light Cafe is SO good, but it is unfortunately very difficult to find space here, especially after 1pm. I came here today around 3pm, hoping to try the lemon tart cake, but left after there was no seating, so I hope that D Light is able to figure out options for outdoor seating, similar to what Ruta's in Eastern Market does. The servers are so kind, and care a lot about the safety of their customers. I just feel bad that they are targeted by individuals trying to rob them and harass their patrons because this place does have a space in my heart.I really like the coffees and desserts here. Their cakes are always tasty, although the honey cake could have used a bit more moisture. Their croissants are also amazing, and complement the coffees that they serve. My favorite coffees would have to be the pink dream latte and red eye.I hope to come back here again. Highly recommend visiting if you are ever in Adam's Morgan.“
“No-frills, Cafe V is run by kind people who efficiently make you your coffee. Enjoying more sweet drinks, I enjoyed the large honey cinnamon latte. Within minutes, it was ready at the bar on a Sunday morning. The space is very practical with plenty of tables. My latte was over $7, which seemed a little expensive, but everything is these days.“
“I got the chai cupcake from Baked and Wired, and I personally didn't like the flavor as much. The cupcake itself felt a little dry, but the icing was decent. The thai iced tea was pretty good though. Regarding the atmosphere, it honestly felt a bit too noisy with the music and crowd to study, so I wouldn't recommend this place as a study spot, but the coffee was nice. Also, getting wifi is a problem here because it's so close to the waterfront.“
“Solid espresso from a Slayer espresso machine and the latte art is finally getting to a high level. Delicious light roasted beans - Ethiopian level but Panamanian?Lately there's been a short line all the time so I think the place has been discovered. La Cosecha market with dozens of tables so having 10 friends meet for coffee is trivial. Now we need the full Los Unidos menu!“
“Moved to area a few months ago the coffee in has the best coffee I've tried within about a 30 minute radius and during my travels past few years. The service is also wonderful, as well as the food. Delicious pastries and tasty sandwiches. Love the variety of options from drinks to food.If you're looking for high quality coffee that offers much more with a great atmosphere for sit in, then this is the place. A wonderful local place ran by some wonderful owners.“
“The lemon cherry scone and piccolo were amazing! I really appreciate the effort to put milk foam art even on a tiny tiny to-go cup. The atmosphere is cozy and they have WiFi. If you can find a seat and don't mind background noise it would be a nice place to work.“
“I honored my reservation, identified myself and the time of the reservation at the front desk but the restaurant never checked me in and listed me as a no show. No one came to take our order. After 1/2 hour we flagged down a server (not our section) who said she would be happy to take our order and let our server know. We said ok just let our server know. Once she came snd took our order, food arrived quickly.“
“This is absolutely the best coffee I've ever tasted! I had the Mardin blend and it was silky smooth and bursting with flavor! Turkish Coffee Lady was truly the highlight of my first visit to Old Town Alexandria and it will not be my last.“
“If you're reading this, check this place out. Prices are fair, and not just for DC. This place is affordable and quality: the chai, the espresso, the sausage/egg/cheese, all absolutely fantastic. This is my partner and I's go so Saturday morning spot, and it should be yours too. Seriously try this place.Kid-friendliness: Plenty of seating in the cozy shop, without any corners for the kid to run around out of sight. Plus outside seating.“
“This coffee shop is worth the hype! A quick walk from the Takoma Redline station makes this place easy to get to. The cafe does get very crowded but do not let that discourage you. I tried the Chai Tea Latte which was one of the best I have had since moving back to the region. I also tried the egg, cheddar, and sausage on a Crogel. I normally do not really eat sausage because of the taste. The sausage was fresh and tasted really good. I was very surprised by the delicious taste of the sausage and by how well all the flavors went together. I can't remember what latte my partner ordered but it was also really good. I definitely recommend this cafe!“
“I had heard of Call Your Mother when researching good bagel places in DC. The bagels are okay - they are definitely not the chewy New York style I am used to. The everything was a bit underwhelming, however the apple cinnamon had just the right amount of sweetness. The oat latte was actually quite good; it’s a really good cup of coffee with a huge range of bagel sandwiches.Vegetarian options: You can build your own bagel sandwich and add veggies if you have specific preferences.“
“I really like the bagels here, especially the spicy pastrami. Latkes are also really good, along with their coffee. They admit their stuff is really expensive, but it's personally one of the cheapest eats compared to DC restaurants. This is probably more in the hands of corporate, but it is disappointing to advertise as a Jewish bakery and serve stuff that exclusively has pork bacon, such as the Whisper Walk or the BLTA. It's fine to serve pork bacon, but out of respect for Jewish and Muslims, it would be best to offer turkey or beef bacon options. Again, I know that's more of a corporate decision, but thought I should put this as a suggestion.“
“Title: A Bakery Bliss in DC's West EndReview:After a delicious dinner in another restaurant, I had the pleasure of visiting Tatte Bakery & Cafe shortly before closing, and it was a delightful experience. It was the perfect spot for a late-evening treat near my hotel. I ordered a cappuccino and a lemon mint tart, and both were exceptional. The cappuccino was perfectly brewed, and the tart was a refreshing blend of tangy lemon and cool mint, beautifully presented with just the right amount of sweetness. The bakery's ambiance added to the experience. It's a spacious and stylish spot with an inviting outdoor seating area that I look forward to enjoying on my next visit. The staff was friendly and efficient, ensuring my order was perfect even as the day was winding down. The service was impressively quick despite the late hour, adding to the overall positive experience. In addition to its delicious pastries, Tatte Bakery & Cafe offers a variety of breakfast and trim meal options, including pancakes and sandwiches, making it an excellent choice for any time of day.For anyone looking for a cozy place to end their day with a delicious pastry and a warm drink, Tatte Bakery & Cafe is a must-visit. It's a beautiful addition to the area and a spot I'll return to when I'm back in DC.“
“Good variety of flavors with some traditional and some more innovative. Dark chocolate was very rich and the bitterness helped counteract the sweetness of the mascarpone. I really like the dark chocolate. The mascarpone and berries was quite sweet and reminded me of the jam flavor at Gracie's in Somerville, MA.“
“A delightful little spot with great tasting coffee and a decent array of well-priced, tasty snacks, pastries and other non-coffee drinks. Great prices too, and very friendly service. There are also plenty of seating options, and I worked very comfortably on my laptop for a few hours. It’s right on a square so it’s very comfortable area.I only wish they had some gluten free or other allergen options for their food, though I understand that’s a relatively small market.“
“We ordered two Margarita Flights while we waited for our food at Spice Kitchen. The drinks were ok… because they were pre-mixed and had a lot of syrup. I did mentioned that to the bartender and she topped off my drink which was very kind.I didn’t think they were friendly- no one even said hello when we sat down. I had to call them over for assistance and we were the only people seated at the bar.I would definitely visit again and try another drink or possibly food.Because it’s a Food Hall you do not have to sit at the bar they also have table seating available.“
“Some of the most delicious food in DC. As a vegan they had so many incredible options that you can’t always find at regular Indian restaurants. The dosa with potato filling and idly were incredible and the server was so quick to provide her recommendation for her favorite vegan curry. My friend was gluten free too and we had so many options to enjoy - it was a feast! All vegans in the area need to run over here right away! Veganesha is the bestVegetarian options: Vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options available“
“A fantastic little place to find when I saw a Starbucks and wished for anything but Starbucks! This is what I wish there was more of in DC! It’s exactly what you want and the food and drink is perfect. I had the spinach and feta croissant and a cappuccino.“
“Great food, super cute and chic ambiance, and easy, prompt service. The menu has all the classics of an upscale Italian restaurant and the flavors + portions don't disappoint! I had the Burrata, the mushroom pasta, and the broccolini - all were well prepared and delicious. The price point is certainly on the higher side but nonetheless it's a cute and cosy spot that I hope to be back to soon. Glad to have this option in the neighborhood!“
“Beautiful cafe! Feels like a cute little oasis with a lovely courtyard. Their baked goods and coffee are delicious and the hospitality / service is fantastic. Mar, Sylvia, and Manuel are so friendly and easy to talk to — feels like I’ve known them for years. This place feels like home ❤️“
“Northside social is amazing; it has a fun lively atmosphere. It is a great place to have a coffee and get work done, and its also a get place to host events. I proposed at Northside Social and hosted the after party there, and the events coordinator was so helpful with the planning process. I cannot recommend Northside Social enough.“
“I love this place so much! We stumbled in while walking down M street one morning and were greeted by the wonderful Lena. She is absolutely amazing and brought so much joy to our morning. She is incredibly uplifting and welcoming. We left feeling so happy to have walked in, and our drinks were delicious! She also greeted several regulars by name as well as memorized ours and we hope to see her again on our next visit! Please stop by if you have a chance. Such a lovely place full of lovely people!“
“We stopped here to get coffee and a sweet treat and ending up getting the orange blossom croissant and morning bun, which was so good! We also got some baklava for some friends and family, which came in these really cute yellow tin box- a perfect gift!“
“My biggest compliment for this place is that it’s clean and relatively quiet. The food and drinks are pricy but decent, despite being super slow. In my mind a small cappuccino should not take 20 minutes or $8, but it’s worth it if you want to avoid the squalid ruckus chain stores offer.“
“I just love this spot for a quiet place to work or read, or a nice spot to meet a friend for coffee or a casual lunch.Last week I had the Chicken Tortilla Soup twice and it is delicious. I even brought a quart home! I also had the prosciutto, goat cheese and apple sandwich on a baguette which was perfect.I have had lattes there often and always delicious. This week I brought home the chicken enchiladas from the market and the beef bolgogi - each meal generously fed two of us and was so delicious. The staff is always helpful, kind and attentive.Dietary restrictions: Lots of vegetarian salads, fruit and more for breakfast options.Parking: If there in the morning, always easy to find parking in front on South WashingtonStreet (going against traffic). Parking requires using the Park Mobile App.Kid-friendliness: Always a slew of strollers at Mae's!“
“Good coffee drinks, nice selection of treats (Korean bakery goods like cake, cookies, cream rolls, filled breads). Quiet when mostly full seats. Clean. Feels like a cozy neighborhood hangout. A little dark at the far end, the seats by the side door are better lit. The green tea roll cake is rich and creamy.Parking: Free but limited parking in Annandale Plaza shopping center“
“Old Town Alexandria can be a tourist trap if you don't know where to go or access to the local-"in crowd" on where to go. I myself would confess to being a zombie tourist if it were not for all the crowd-sourced reviews and convenient map search features. This long-winded review intro is meant to steer you off-the-beaten-path, away from touristy stuff, and see what little shops lurk in the edges off *streets of royalty* ( ahem, I meant look at what's out there beyond King Street, Prince Street, or Duke Street ).And in the case of Casa Rosada Gelato, you would literally walk pass it given recent construction that forces the relocated front entrance to be hidden deep off some loading bay alley (the pictures says it all). The alleyway is almost 25 paces off the main street and there are no signs except for some Casa Rosada icon on paper taped to a plywood board where the front entrance would be. Had to band up with a visiting family of 5 to go gelato hunting for the front entrance. It's especially scary at night and yet so fun too given how dark the entire surrounding intersection block is with no cars or people in sight. But the gelato is good - way better than the throw-back-themed ice cream chain shops that promise to top sweetened air-filled cream (ie. normal ice cream) with rainbow covered sugar that's meant to distract you from all the air you are buying in your ice cream. With most gelato classic flavors available, we opted to go 'off-the-beaten-path' theme and go for walnut and madeira wine gelato. Tasting both flavors mixed was a symphony of flavors I doubt you can find anywhere else in this Old Town.“
“I am always on the lookout for local coffee shops. And this one didn't disappoint. Great coffee, and people were also too nice. cafe was nicely decorated and has good seating space. I was in Arlington for 3 days and came here to get coffee every single day.“
“We like this charming place, our go-to spot for good coffee and freshly baked treats. The atmosphere is delightfully bright, with plenty of seating options. You'll be spoiled for choice with their delectable selection of baked goods and savory fare, all prepared well with care in their kitchen. The staff are good, always greeting you with a warm smile and eager to make your experience memorable. It's easy to see why this place is our favorite - it's simply the best!“
“Highly recommended, hot spot for coffee, breakfast, and gourmet baked morsels. Is fairly busy so can get a bit loud during peak times, but the delicious esspresso and bakery items makes it well worth the visit, plus ceiling to floor glass allows for plenty of light and scenery.“
“A very comfortable and well maintained spot to sit and chat or hang out with a bunch of kitties! The wine bar area downstairs is quaint and comfortable, without the staleness of corporate chains many coffee shops have. And their food and drink variety is wide and varied for a place of their small size, and fairly priced.I was only able to hang out downstairs this time because I didn’t have an appointment (make one online!) but I’d be happy to come back for either the kitties or the wine bar atmosphere.“
“Büna has quickly become one of my favorite cafes of all time. The people who work there are so kind and remember your name and order and work to make your experience enjoyable and catered to you specifically. The food (both Ethiopian and American) is absolutely fantastic. Everything I’ve had has been a slam dunk. I am not someone who orders takeout almost ever and I’ve made an exception for this cafe. I keep coming back for the Ethiopian vegan rolls, fir fir side dish and brunch platter! Wish I could take this place everywhere I go!“
“I'm from out of town and found Little Food Studio through a recommendation from a friend. I ordered a Bianca (ham and cheese) with the spicy spread and a cherry blossom lemonade, both of which were VERY delicious. While waiting for the food to be made there were many other customers who came in. I completely understand why this place is rated to highly. Cheap prices, great food, and friendly staff.“
“This gem is run by the absolute most sweet, caring, and hard-working family we have met in a long time. The food is prepped with love and the service is akin to the hospitality you’d receive from your own family. Whether you’re enjoying a hot plate breakfast with delicious tea for brunch or a hearty gyro, the folks at Borek G will serve it up with a smile and a warm energy that will light up your day. Our party of friends has been coming here for about a year now and we have always enjoyed our experience. The family is generous and kind not enough can be said about how that love radiates from the wonderful food. Do yourself a favor and stop in!“
“I came across this gelateria during my after-dinner walk in Dupont Circle last night. It looks lovely so I suggested coming here for dessert after dinner in Columbia Heights before heading back to our hotel in Foggy Bottom.I love the vibe and decor inside. There is long communal table in the seating area but we opted for the stools by the window to people watch. We shared a large cup with black sesame, coconut dulce de leche, and peanut butter cup. I love the rich and bold flavour of the black sesame but the coconut dulce de leche was very refreshing, particularly after a big dinner.“
“i was visiting from nigeria with my sister in november. stumbled in here by accident and we were so so in love. got a polaroid with a “bowl cat” that’s still on my wall till this day. and it encouraged me to get a calico cat. can’t wait to come again“
“I found this place through facebook advertising free wine tasting. First time i tried Armenian food! I arrived early and found a table. While i waited, i ordered sujuk pie (like a stuffed meat patty) and a hot chocolate. Both were very tasty. I sample 3 wines and bought a glass of the white. I will definitely return.“
“Such a hidden gem! I had their pecan latte, which has actual pecan pieces in the drink. So creative! Limited pastry options, they do have vegan options. The vibe is cozy and cute, would love to come back to try their dinners/food and alcoholic drinks.Street parking available.“
“It's been awhile since I used to run U Street and I came looking for the old Starbucks but it was nowhere to be found. I did find Cafe U and I just love this little spot. It's so cute, the Lox is my favorite thing, and the service is great. RIP Starbucks but I'm loving Cafe U.“
“Customer service is Amazing and the coffee is even better!!! Your missing out if you do not experience this place. One of my favorites!!!!! I live in Upper Marlboro and drive 25-30 minutes to enjoy their Machiato Caramello latte! ?Parking: Meter parkingUsually there is available parking“
“Title: A Presidential Treat - 5 Stars for Pitago Gelato!Review:I recently had the pleasure of indulging in the delectable delights at Pitago Gelato, conveniently located near the White House. It's no surprise that this charming ice cream store has become a favorite of none other than President Joe Bidem himself, and after my visit, I can wholeheartedly understand why. From the moment I stepped through the door, the inviting aroma of freshly made gelato greeted me. The ambiance was warm and welcoming, creating the perfect backdrop for a delightful ice cream experience. The staff at Pitago Gelato were not only friendly but also exceptionally knowledgeable about their extensive array of flavors.Speaking of flavors, Pitago Gelato boasts an impressive selection that caters to all taste buds. From classic favorites like creamy vanilla and rich chocolate to more adventurous options like salted caramel with pecans, there's something to satisfy every palate. I couldn't resist trying a scoop of President Biden's purported favorite – and it did not disappoint. The unique blend of flavors was a true testament to the craftsmanship of Pitago Gelato's culinary artisans. What truly sets this ice cream parlor apart is the commitment to using high-quality, fresh ingredients. Each spoonful felt like a burst of flavor, and the smooth, velvety texture of the gelato was absolutely divine. Whether you're a tourist exploring the nation's capital or a local resident, Pitago Gelato offers a sweet escape from the hustle and bustle of Washington D.C.The attention to detail at Pitago Gelato extends beyond the flavors; the presentation of each scoop is a work of art. The vibrant colors and enticing swirls are almost too beautiful to eat – almost. I found myself savoring every bite, appreciating the effort that goes into creating such an exceptional frozen treat. In conclusion, Pitago Gelato deserves every bit of its 5-star rating. It's not just an ice cream store; it's an experience. If it's good enough for President Joe Biden, it's certainly good enough for me. Whether you're a gelato connoisseur or just someone with a sweet tooth, make sure to pay a visit to Pitago Gelato near the White House – your taste buds will thank you!“
“I’ve been here numerous times and have never had a bad experience. Ty is a rockstar who can manage entirely in her own. Even when it does get busy, she always remains professional and never ceases to have a smile on her face. Did I mention she’s a great barista and knows what she’s doing? Go Ty! While Starbucks tends to be consistent overall, my drinks made by Ty always taste just the way they should.“
