Family Ethiopian Restaurant Reviews
The food is wonderful. We always eat here when we come up from Richmond, VA. The staff is great as well.
I had such an amazing experience at this Ethiopian restaurant. My server recommended a dish with meat and vegetables, and it was absolutely perfect for two people who want to try a little bit of everything. There were so many different flavors and dishes to enjoy, and every bite was incredible.
But what really stood out to me was how welcomed they made me feel. They treated me like I was part of their family from the moment I walked in. I finally understand why it’s called...read full review

We had a positive experience here. Most importantly, the food was excellent. We ordered sambusas along with the meat and veggie sampler. The sampler cost 50$ and was enough to feed three people; it is quite well valued. In terms of flavor, it was well seasoned with fresh tasting ingredients--delicious all around.
In terms of criticisms, there is a bit of a bad odor emnating from an unknown source. Otherwise, the service, food, and atmosphere were top-notch.

Family Ethiopian Restaurant offers an amazing dining experience with delicious food. The meat and veggie combo, including beets, cabbage, chickpeas, and collards, was a hit. The friendly staff provided excellent service, making the first experience with Ethiopian cuisine memorable. The vegetarian and vegan options are great. The food was excellent, though larger parties were prioritized for seating, and parties of 2 had to wait longer to be seated. The assorted mix vegetable platter and spaghetti were described as good, and the family platter was perfect for four people with generous portions and a variety of traditional dishes. The doro wat and kitfo stood out as favorites, and the injera was fresh and soft. The lega tibs and sambosas were also mentioned as go-to orders, and the honey wine was recommended. Overall, this outstanding restaurant comes highly recommended for its fantastic food and service.
