“This cafe was a welcomed relief after riding in the heat for the past 4 hours. Here was quite comfortable, from the air conditioning to the comfy chairs. The music was a little loud though. Also I'm not sure if a lot of thought was given into the music genre that they were playing this afternoon. It was all good. I ordered the white chocolate mocha, and I've been sitting for the past 15 minutes. Apparently, I wasn't the only person who was enjoying the comfortable cool air. They were almost full here. It was kind of interesting about how a strip mall location could be so popular on the weekend. The Interned connection is good, and the folks around here seemed to be friendly.“

“We accidentally discovered Warka Coffee while staying across the street.

The service was fantastic—friendly, attentive, and genuinely warm. The staff made us feel right at home and were happy to guide us through the menu.

The Ethiopian coffee was truly excellent—rich, aromatic, and prepared perfectly. You can tell they take great pride in their coffee, and it really shows in the quality of each cup. The breakfast items were also delicious and made for a great start to the day.

Overall, a wonderful spot for great coffee, tasty breakfast, and a lively, welcoming atmosphere. We’re so glad we stumbled upon it and would definitely return.“

“From far away, it seems like a really cool hip place to be, but inside it just feels like something‘s missing. Like it feels a little devoid of character here and very generic. The avocado toast has what seems like Ken’s raspberry salad dressing drizzled on it, which was really offputting. I tried to get off as much as possible.
Service was kind of impersonal also. Just didn’t seem like people were interested in being there or making eye contact just a quick order and give you what you asked for, no sort of interaction or warmth.“

“The gelato I had was absolutely delicious! While it wasn't as creamy as Pitango's, I really enjoyed the variety of flavors they offered. I ordered a three-flavor cup and chose Black and White Cookie Batter, Dark Chocolate Fudge, and Dulce de Leche Chip. Each flavor was delightful! The restaurant was quite busy, which was a good sign considering its prime location near shopping stores and not far from Chinatown. There was plenty of seating available for customers to sit and savor their treats or coffee. Despite the crowd, the cashiers did an excellent job attending to everyone and even offered samples.“

“We had the best time at KooKoo DC last night. They accommodated a table of 14 for my spouse's birthday and never let us feel like an imposition. The food was so fresh, authentic, and reasonably priced - I did a double take when we got the bill. I even felt like we went all-out with apps, drinks, and desserts! “My family and I were in the neighborhood, and I was in the mood for an iced coffee beverage. A quick google search revealed several places in the Ballston area and after parking near a playground we turned the corner and happened upon a little cart. Turned out to be Ballstonian Urban Patisserie. Not only was the gentleman who ran the cart the most humble and friendly human being I have ever met, but his description of the Iced Turkish Chocolate Cafe Mocha with a blend of several spices sounded intriguing. I ordered a couple since the wife was in tow and it turned out to be one of the best life decisions I have ever made.

Think chocolate with cardamom, cinnamon, honey, ginger and paprika amongst other things. If heaven was a coffee cart this was it.
I walked back over after we finished playing with my son on the playground to shake his hand and let him know that that was the BEST iced coffee drink I have ever had. The spice on the back end alone was enough but the combination of flavors was straight up outer space. I am a true fiend for coffee, and I will drive back down soon in the future to grab another.

BTW he thanked me with a firm handshake, and several thank you's, but also gave me a free half cup of the iced mocha.

“fun smaller shop off the main street. loved the quiet ambiance of it and the in and outs of the hostel guest staying in the building. The cafe has wifi with enough seats inside and out for enjoying a coffee. My flat white was well made and my family enjoying their hot chocolates. best part.... it's very very affordable, a good $1-2 cheaper than most places.“
