Often, the food is great but the service is just okay, or the service is excellent but the food falls short. When looking for a place to celebrate my wedding anniversary, a few options came up, and one of them was Sabores Tapas Bar. Unfortunately, I couldn’t make it there at the time and ended up going to two other places—one was okay, the other was awful. Later, I told my wife we needed to try Sabores, maybe on New Year’s Day. Again, we ended up at a “safe” spot we like to visit. The food and service were good, but it was just our usual go-to. Fast forward to last week: my best friend from Puerto Rico came to visit with his family. He loves to eat, and his wife can be hard to please. This time, we decided to go to Sabores Tapas Bar. I’ll admit, I was nervous—I wanted them to have a great experience, but pleasing everyone is never easy. Finally, we went. What can I say? The food was amazing, and the service was just as incredible. It was so good we couldn’t stop eating. I had high expectations—growing up, my house was always full because my friends came over for my mom’s cooking. She’s an amazing cook. Mom, forgive me for saying this, but Sabores Tapas Bar is as good as, if not better than, your cooking, and the service was amazing. Wow. I’ve found the place. It’s so good that I want to go back and try dishes I normally don’t like, just to see if they can make me love them. I can’t wait to return. My taste buds have found the love of their life at Sabores Tapas Bar.“

The restaurant has quite a bit of seating inside and free wifi with some seating outside as well. They had great service and the coffee was excellent. There are lots of fun flavors and types of coffees to try.“

“This was a very satisfying burger. The Lucky Bun burger had Gouda, arugula, and charred red onions. Very hearty. Complex flavors. And i love the malt vinegar mayonnaise that comes with the fries.

You're also in the environs of Union Market, which is fun.“

“We eat here every single time we come to the DC area. It is my favorite place to eat. The Scotch Eggs, Shepherd’s Pie and Guinness Stew are our favorites. The staff remembers us and welcomes us. The owner is awesome. We can’t recommend this place enough.“

“I’m going to post the same review I gave on Yelp - this is a 5 Star place! After a day in DC, my family decided to try Soul Thai on our way home. What a terrific Experience. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was some of the best Thai we have ever had. The Pad Thai was amazing. The Hang Over Noodles (Drunken Noodles) was exceptional. And the red curry was by far the best I’ve had in the area. The ambiance was quite pleasant as well. Initially we were sat in an area that was a little noisy for our taste, but they graciously moved us to a much quieter section. The owner, Nancy came over after our meal and was very appreciative of our comments on the meal. She shared with us that she personally picks the freshest ingredients she can find to ensure the quality of the food. I would highly recommend Soul Thai to everyone. We will be coming back soon. To be totally blunt, after walking in, I wasn't expecting much. It's a small self serve restaurant that doesn't resemble most sushi establishments I've been to.

I ordered the sushi deluxe and subbed out the California roll for salmon rolls, I also got the tempura Philly, and the double fantasy. I also received a free Miso soup on top of all of that.

The second I took my first bite into that piece of Eel nigri, I knew this was going to be an excellent dinner. Even at high end sushi restaurants I've had at least a piece of sushi or two taste a little old or a sushi roll that's overdone with the toppings. This is the first sushi I've ever had where every single piece of fish was excellent. The sushi was incredibly fresh and every bite was delicious. I'm usually not a fan of shrimp nigiri and even that was enjoyable tonight. I don't know what the secret is, but this was the most impressive sushi experience I've ever had.

If you are a sushi connoisseur, this is a must try place while Iin DC.“

This review is based on to go orders.

The food here is exceptional, that’s why it’s unfortunate that I had to give a one star review.

All of my orders here are to go. Everytime i order the chickpeas or potatoes, the containers would break and food would leak out. In 10 orders i pick up, all 10 times this would happen. If the sides are stacked on top of each other the lids would crack and the containers would cave in. I understand because the sides may be too hot, but the containers needs to be stable enough to handle a 10min transport without leaking out.

I hope you can find a solution because the food here is great.“

My first time here in the middle of summer, they apologized profusely about the bread being flat due to temperature control issues, but I genuinely could not tell— it was still ridiculously good. I remember thinking “if this is a bad bread day.. then what is a good bread day like??” The answer: amazing. perfect. Nothing compares. Soft and fluffy on the inside with a very nice crust on the outside. I made the mistake of going to another bahn mi place in the area the other day, and all I could think about was how much I would rather be eating a sandwich from Simply Bahn Mi. “I recently stopped by District Pizza Palace for some halal eats and left really satisfied. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, perfect for grabbing a slice or sitting down for a relaxed meal with friends.

The food is honestly the star here. Their handmade, create-your-own pizzas are delicious, with fresh toppings and a one-of-a-kind taste that sets them apart from your usual pizza spots. Everything came out hot and exactly how I wanted it.

Customer service was exceptional from start to finish. The staff was polite, helpful, and made the experience even better. The place was also very clean, which I always appreciate. As a Muslim, I love having a halal pizza spot like this that delivers both on quality and service.

Overall, District Pizza Palace definitely does not disappoint. I’d highly recommend giving them a try - 10/10 experience.“

“I happened to be at The Renegade two weeks ago. I love country music so I thought it could be a great idea to show my brother this restaurant. We came from Spain and discovered this place! What we didn’t know is that we would meet Paul, who took care of us and “tour us around” their menu and options. The food was delicious and healthy as well! Artichokes, hummus, cauliflower and the chicken were amazing! My brother is vegetarian so they prepared a pad thai for him and he really enjoyed it. After dinner, was time to look everybody dancing on the floor… With the perfect atmosphere! I wish I could post some pictures!!
