“Central & southern Asian food makes me happy. This is some of the best in Virginia. You must come to the buffet to try a few things, and come back with a date for supper. I typically enjoy lamb karahi but also many of the vegetarian options. The owners are very nice.“

“This place is a true local gem. Food is of very high quality, and everything is consistently cooked to perfection. Their consistency is actually really impressive - I’ve never been disappointed by a single thing, and I’ve eaten A LOT of their food. But everything is so good, so I haven’t really made my way outside of the same few items from their menu. The difference is that the staff actually care about their customers, and take pride in their food. It’s not so common these days, and is a pleasant surprise. It’s the reason I will always eat there.“

“We hired Akmal catering in Dec 2025 for June 2026 wedding. We visited their Springfield store front for food tasting and was wowed. Everything was delicious with true Pakistani flavor. We also loved the care to detail and was told they pack food at the end of ceremony for family as we all know we don’t eat when all is in play.
We just had our event 2 weeks ago and my guests are still raving about the food. We were able to customize the menu, price was amazing and there was enough food for our 200 guests. We never had to worry about quantity or quality. I highly recommend Akmal’s and will come back definitely. Beliw are very few pictures I was able to gather. May ALLAH swt give Barak to your business. “I live in VA, but love to try different food. My second time here, because food was great. The girl serving was super too. Was not busy the time I was eating. After reading reviews, I wonder where people normally eat as most restaurants have a charge for sharing if they let you all. I like the quiet atmosphere to relax. Nice to be able to have a glass of wine & do that. The manager was super friendly too.“

“We ordered a variety of food. For starters we loved the veggie samosas with The chutney sauce. The rice is flavored with cinnamon and it will not disappoint. The chicken kabob boneless platter is tender and full of flavor. Our favorite kabob was the chicken with green chili skewer. The rice pudding was so on point we ordered an extra side to go.“

“To be honest, I have only done take-out from here. Their food is quite good and I am a harsh critic of Indian food at restaurants. They do good lunch portions, a bit more expensive compared to the options down Georgia Ave. but they make good food. Their paneer dishes are quite good, which is a good metric to judge an Indian restaurant. I would recommend this place for lunch if you have guests that you would like to treat.“

“Bestest food and service we received till now. I along with my family visited on Sunday afternoon because we were craving for some desi delight. Restaurant had limited seating area but the vibe was good. We were immediately greeted by the lady at the counter. She was very friendly and innocent. She recommended us chicken karahi and keema nan. The taste was spot on. We were amazed by the hospitality. Surely will return. 10/10 for customer service for that lady and for the food.“

“I love eating at this restaurant every now and then. Its my favorite place for chicken kebabs and chicken karahi. Very tasty, clean food and most importantly its halal. very similar to a nice homemade meal. The staff is very welcoming and nice. The place is clean. People who really care about the good taste must visit this place. It is far better from those fancy looking restaurants with pathetic taste. I don’t care about posting fancy dining in and food pictures. I love to have a meal that tastes good. Please keep the food quality like this and I will be your forever loyal customer 🙂🙂“

“A genuine Pakistani cuisine, the food was fresh and appealing. However the place was super crowded and gave a look of any charity free dinner place. Customers pay for food and environment. Environment was terribly bad, as restaurant tries to host more than their capacity. Private family or friends seating was not available. You have to sit with general public, the long tables were arranged for everyone to sit with others. Prayers after iftar were hosted outside restaurant when temperatures were in negative. The prayers should have been inside the restaurant walls. A bad display for non believers, earning in one sitting was more important and rest everything was set a side. Bad!!@“
