“We had beef burgundy, beef cigars and rack of lamb. The food is amazingly good. Authentic and well prepared. I consider the best in this area. Their service is also excellent. This is our 5th time and we will come back soon.“

Most of the customers were much better dressed and without a child. Nothing wrong with this, just painting the picture. The staff could not have been nicer and more professional. We were greeted with open arms, sat immediately, and served with absolute professionalism. My food (the fish) was so good I considered licking the plate. They don’t necessarily have a kid’s menu but offered numerous things to make a toddler. I went with the burger and fries. They complimented this with numerous dipping sauces and made the burger to order. The charge was minimal and fair. I always clean up after him as toddlers can be messy and they insisted on letting them clean up (I did it anyway). Restrooms were spotless and the kitchen area you pass was very clean and well organized. It’s a small spot full of big talent. This will be a regular for us. A must dine.“

“We chose Bistro du Jour at the Royal Sonesta because we needed an ADA-accessible restaurant and bathroom, convenient parking, delicious food, a sophisticated atmosphere for a family dinner, and a place where we could actually have a conversation. Boy, did they deliver! The space is absolutely beautiful, with gorgeous floral arrangements that deserve an 11/10. The lounge area behind the bar is particularly sexy and charming—an excellent spot for a date night. The restaurant, service, and ambiance were all lovely, but the food exceeded our expectations. Everything was delicious and very reasonably priced for the quality and setting. The menu offered some intriguing options, including raspberry macarons with chicken liver and fig jam, alongside classic French favorites like escargot, bouillabaisse, steak frites, and boeuf bourguignon. Our party of eight happily devoured everything and thoroughly enjoyed the entire meal. It can be difficult to find a restaurant that combines accessibility, an elegant atmosphere, excellent service, outstanding food, and reasonable prices. Bistro du Jour checked every box. This is a restaurant we will happily return to again and again. Highly recommended for a special family dinner, a romantic evening, or anyone looking for a lovely French dining experience in DC!“

“We had a very nice meal at Du Jour (Waterfront) this time, as well as on previous visits. My only concern/complaint is that the restaurant provides no way to specify "Inside" or "Outside" for a reservation. Part of why I'd made a reservation was to secure a table indoors, because early September can be very warm on the patio, as it was last night. When we arrived we were told it would be nearly an hour wait for an indoor table. I knew this location has only a small number of tables inside, so didn't need to have that explained by the host. I just think it would be reasonable to be able to select Indoor or Outdoor for the reservation, or OpenTable should make clear that any reservation may be (will probably be) outside. And then users can make educated decisions. We ended up having a very nice meal; food was excellent, service was very good (when our probably-new server was unsure about a drink order, another server stepped in to clarify which was very nice), and we eventually cooled off.“

“Stopped by after seeing high reviews. The atmosphere of the place is really nice. There’s quiet spaces to study. There’s cute little gifts you can purchase. However, the pistachio chocolate croissant I tried wasn’t good. I don’t like the taste of pistachio paste. Also it wasn’t fresh.“

“Lovely ambiance! We sat at the bar and had the three course menu. I was gluten free and the staff was so great about accommodating me! The food was very tasty with great flavors and texture. I really enjoyed all the courses. The beef was so tender and flavorful. I thoroughly enjoyed the dessert as well. The only downside was that we had been walking all day through the city and my phone had died. I was hoping they might be able to let me charge my phone briefly so we could get home but they were unable to do allow that.“

“I can't believe that I have lived here for nearly 20 years, walked past this place many times, and just discovered it several weeks ago. WOW! The pastries and, cakes, muffins and croissants are excellent. Their homemade jams are wonderful. Their breads, quite yummy! I love their iced coffee , which has s a very subtle taste of cocoa. And, I am a very picky coffee snob. Service is sometimes a little chaotic, but the staff is super friendly. Weekend mornings are insanely busy- a reflection of how good they are. Amazing, spacious outdoor seating! LOVE this place.“
