Apéro Reviews
Last week we enjoyed dinner with Edgar Allen Poe. Okay, so maybe not the man himself- but about as close as I could imagine the experience to be. Dark, decadent, and full of surprise. We got to try their seasonal Poe themed menu, and it’s not just dinner- it nears theatre on a plate.
This place was wonderful. The food was just the right portion for trying a little bit of everything paired with a couple of glasses of very reasonably priced wines.
I stopped by today. The service was excellent, the oysters really good, coffee was great, and cocktail next level. They even included the tip in the tab at the end and pointed out that I didn't need to tip further. What a great find

Apéro is a restaurant with top notch service and amazing food. The meals match a George Lucas themed vibe and everything is tastefully put together. It is a favorite burger in DC, with mushroom cigarettes that are crispy and delicious. The menu has good seasonal changes, and all desserts are amazing. The cocktails are well balanced, with a great Manhattan cocktail and a well presented martini. The wine list is great, including a favorite glass of sancerre and an indulgent Bordeaux. The pâte and gougeres are enjoyed, with the gougeres being delicious. Caviar and oysters are good, and the confit canard leg is delicious and flavorful. The bread pudding is good. The service is fantastic and the ambiance is moody, cozy, dark, and chic, with a small space that makes the vibe more intimate. Apéro is suitable for before or after dinner drinks or a full meal. It can get crowded, so a reservation is recommended.
