The food, ambiance and service were spectacular. I can’t say enough good things about this place!!!
An absolutely lovely restaurant with amazing food and an equally amazing staff. One of my favorite spots in DC.
We called from out of state to call in a purchase surprise gift card to go towards our DC friends 50th wedding anniversary dinner..they not only surprised them with our gift but gave the group a glass of complimentary Champagne ! Highly appreciated and can’t wait to go to visit our friends and make another reservation to be blessed by excellent French food and hospitality.. highly recommended

La Chaumiere is a charming, country-style French restaurant located in the heart of Georgetown. The menu features a variety of delicious and upscale dishes, such as veal sweet breads, house pâté, French onion soup, Caesar salad, and trout with lemon butter and almonds. The service is friendly and attentive, ensuring a pleasant dining experience.
The restaurant's atmosphere is cozy and inviting, although it can get quite busy, so making a reservation in advance is recommended. Customers have praised the high-quality service and food, with the soufflés and trout being standout dishes. The Grand Marnier Soufflé is particularly noted as a must-have main course, praised for its flavor and tenderness. The menu also includes dishes like Magret de Canard (Duck Breast), which is packed with flavor. Some reviews mention that the foie gras could be improved by adding more slices of bread and a generous amount of raspberry-flavored syrup.
Overall, La Chaumiere is a dependable choice for a special night out, offering a neighborhood feel with a focus on delicious French cuisine. The restaurant continues to impress with its execution and quality, making it a favorite among diners.
