“We chose Bistro du Jour at the Royal Sonesta because we needed an ADA-accessible restaurant and bathroom, convenient parking, delicious food, a sophisticated atmosphere for a family dinner, and a place where we could actually have a conversation. Boy, did they deliver! The space is absolutely beautiful, with gorgeous floral arrangements that deserve an 11/10. The lounge area behind the bar is particularly sexy and charming—an excellent spot for a date night. The restaurant, service, and ambiance were all lovely, but the food exceeded our expectations. Everything was delicious and very reasonably priced for the quality and setting. The menu offered some intriguing options, including raspberry macarons with chicken liver and fig jam, alongside classic French favorites like escargot, bouillabaisse, steak frites, and boeuf bourguignon. Our party of eight happily devoured everything and thoroughly enjoyed the entire meal. It can be difficult to find a restaurant that combines accessibility, an elegant atmosphere, excellent service, outstanding food, and reasonable prices. Bistro du Jour checked every box. This is a restaurant we will happily return to again and again. Highly recommended for a special family dinner, a romantic evening, or anyone looking for a lovely French dining experience in DC!“

“Today was my 1st time eating here and I came with my father for Fathers Day. My father had eaten here several times and wanted me to try it. I liked Le Chat Noir and would come back again. Reasonably priced for higher quality French food.“

“We had a very nice meal at Du Jour (Waterfront) this time, as well as on previous visits. My only concern/complaint is that the restaurant provides no way to specify "Inside" or "Outside" for a reservation. Part of why I'd made a reservation was to secure a table indoors, because early September can be very warm on the patio, as it was last night. When we arrived we were told it would be nearly an hour wait for an indoor table. I knew this location has only a small number of tables inside, so didn't need to have that explained by the host. I just think it would be reasonable to be able to select Indoor or Outdoor for the reservation, or OpenTable should make clear that any reservation may be (will probably be) outside. And then users can make educated decisions. We ended up having a very nice meal; food was excellent, service was very good (when our probably-new server was unsure about a drink order, another server stepped in to clarify which was very nice), and we eventually cooled off.“

“We had a wonderful dinner at L'Avant-Garde in Georgetown tonight. The food was creative, beautifully presented, and full of flavor, with every course feeling thoughtful and well executed.

My wife has celiac disease, and I can't say enough about how seriously the team takes gluten-free dining. From the moment we mentioned it, the staff were knowledgeable and confident, walked us through her options, and clearly had real protocols in place for preventing cross-contact.

The service was warm and attentive, and the atmosphere made it a perfect night out. Highly recommend, especially if you or someone you love is gluten-free and tired of worrying when you eat out. We'll absolutely be back!“

“Stopped by after seeing high reviews. The atmosphere of the place is really nice. There’s quiet spaces to study. There’s cute little gifts you can purchase. However, the pistachio chocolate croissant I tried wasn’t good. I don’t like the taste of pistachio paste. Also it wasn’t fresh.“

“Last week we enjoyed dinner with Edgar Allen Poe. Okay, so maybe not the man himself- but about as close as I could imagine the experience to be. Dark, decadent, and full of surprise. We got to try their seasonal Poe themed menu, and it’s not just dinner- it nears theatre on a plate.“

“Lovely ambiance! We sat at the bar and had the three course menu. I was gluten free and the staff was so great about accommodating me! The food was very tasty with great flavors and texture. I really enjoyed all the courses. The beef was so tender and flavorful. I thoroughly enjoyed the dessert as well. The only downside was that we had been walking all day through the city and my phone had died. I was hoping they might be able to let me charge my phone briefly so we could get home but they were unable to do allow that.“
