“Celebrated our anniversary here, and Oyster Oyster exceeded every expectation. It was my wife’s first Michelin dining experience (she is vegetarian), and it could not have been more perfect.

Food: Delicious, inventive, and deeply rooted in sustainability. The menu evolves with the seasons, making clever, zero-waste use of ingredients across every course. Even as a non-vegetarian, I was blown away—their slow-grilled mushrooms unlocked an incredible depth of umami and made for an unforgettable dish.

Ambiance: An intimate, thoughtfully decorated space featuring a cozy main dining area and counter seating. As can see from pictures attached, we sat kitchen-side, which was nicely decorated and also gave us a front-row view of the culinary team in action.

Service: Impeccable and worthy of their star. Attentive from start to finish, the team went above and beyond with a handwritten anniversary note and complimentary drinks to toast the occasion.

I get the weekington burger (a special) and the ingredient combination was great, and the burger was crispy (I don't usually like smash burgers but this one was actually very good). They also had some interesting drinks, like the Dr. pickle, which had pickle brine and and Dr. Pepper, which was also very good. Also, the loaded fries were tasty, perfectly crisped, and had a delicious sauce that went well with the chicken.

I wouldn't recommend the margarita pizza, it's probably not worth the price. If you get the pizza, it probably makes sense to get the more adventurous ingredient options, as that's where I feel like this restaurant shines.

“On a block often called “Little Ethiopia,” Minya’s Pizza sells pizza inspired by Ethiopian flavors making it a unique spot. I walked in for a quick bite before meeting a friend nearby on a Thursday around 7pm. They only had slices of their meat lovers pizza, pepperoni, and cheese slices. I order the meat and pepperoni ones. The staff warned it up. It was a good slice of pizza, but I want to return for their Ethiopian-inspired pizza.“

“A very inviting corner restaurant, great for people watching and cocktails. The drinks were nice and the atmosphere was lux. We went on a Saturday and it just felt like they needed a manager around. Felt like they were really understaffed and not ready for the crowds. There were some people who had worked there longer and were directing others, and the food did come out of the kitchen timely. But there wasn't a sense of table service really, you just catch them when you can, know the candle won't get lit even after you asked and teach the server how to swipe the card. I wish they had someone tending to things, but maybe when it's slower it will be better. The pizza was good, and lots of pepperoni. I wished it wasn't quite as soggy in the middle but it tasted good. And the burrata had no flavor, no nice olive oil or pepper, very bland, but it was a hearty portion. Can't complain about the drinks. I can sense when there's no service concept so I hope they get it together.“

I will think about this one in my sleep. I will crave it. As much as I will stand on a soapbox telling anyone who will listen that Martha Dear is not just THE best pizza in the DMV, but one of the best restaurants in the area, it is the conspicuously kind service that is the first thing I will mention. “We love Washington DC so my wife and I wanted some pizza. We were staying at the Embassy suites in NW so I googled pizza that was close by. Pizzoli‘s pizzeria came up. It looked good so we took an Uber there and the pizza was excellent. We ordered a simple pepperoni pizza and my wife and I both thoroughly enjoyed it. Made from scratch good. We were a little bit surprised in that it was a smaller establishment as we thought we were going to a place that had lots of tables, etc. This place has one inside table and five or six countertops to eat at and then they have several tables outside but as noted, the food was fantastic. Would certainly recommended, and we will be back home future visits.“

“The pizza was really good - fresh and tasty. However, I was disappointed with the lamb dishes. The texture felt more like ground meat mixed with soy or fillers, and it didn’t have the typical lamb flavor at all. It didn’t even smell like lamb.“

“My son and I had a great time at Bulldog, grabbing a pizza after a Nationals game. Pizza was excellent, good beer selection and plenty of different games on during a busy Saturday of football.
What set our visit apart came later -- my son accidentally left a bag with his prized baseball glove, and a foul ball he caught at the game sitting under our table after we ate and left. I didn't realize it until the next day when we were flying out of town. I reached out to Bulldog's staff and manager Moe confirmed he'd found the bag under the table. Without time to get the bag from the bar, Moe took time out of his day off to ship our stuff back to us at home, going out of his way to make sure my son was able to get his baseball glove back (very important to a 12-year-old baseball superfan). The above and beyond response speaks volumes about the staff here, and I'm thankful for the extra effort!“
