“This has been my go to place for lunch when in DC. I love the sampler platter with food representing the cuisine of the different native cultures in various geographic areas of the continent. They reflect how the peoples incorporated the available fish and animals and the types of grain and vegetation into their meals. Not inexpensive but a cultural as well as a gustatory experience.“

MedStar Washington Hospital Center Cafeteria • $$
110 Irving St NW, Washington

“My mother is being treated at their Cardiac Catheterization unit. I can’t say enough about the amazing care she’s being given. My mom at 93, has only been in the hospital as an adult a few times, and never for anything serious. She’s getting frail, and had to have 2 days of testing to assess her heart condition. I was so happy with how she pulled thru, and so much credit goes to her care team on unit 4D. She was treated like a queen. Dr. Ben-Dor was patient and caring, answering my mother’s questions and making her feel comfortable with her upcoming procedure. I wish I could remember the nurses’ names: Italia? Jimmy. There were others… The Nurse Practitioner who promised my mom she’d look out for her during her procedure. They were all spectacular. 11 stars!“
