“MY OH MY! This Starbucks location was absolutely stunning! I made the very difficult decision to get a grand carmel mockiatoe. It was delishous. 100/10 would recommend. I also recommend getting the frog cake ball. It was the perfect sweet treat, even though I am diabetic. Have a grate day my little sunshines!!“

“This is a much better location than the Grand Hyatt across the street. It’s very spacious. There’s a large wall counter with outlets to get your work done. Friendly service. Big clean restrooms. And the iced coffee was brewed fresh and strong during my visits.“

“While I do enjoy the vast variety of beverages at Starbucks that is not why I am writing this review. Since I moved in the area almost a year ago there has been a young man who has been a shining star at this location. Chris Brooks has always had a smile on his face and always welcomed me the moment I walked in! Handling mountains of orders with grace and treating every single person as a VIP. Sadly I am moving at the end of the month but I wanted to make sure he got his roses. Everyone here does a good job representing the brand, but I must say I have never experienced this level of genuine hospitality and I have been to some of the best restaurants in the country!

He makes your location shine amongst the rest in the area and I have been to several. I usually don't waste my time writing reviews and I just tip but this guy is truly special. Chris if your reading this keep doing your thing! Your day will come and thanks for making a simple cup of black coffee one of the things I look forward to. “I usually come to this Starbucks through the drive-thru, and every time I visit, the service is incredibly friendly. The staff is always welcoming, patient, and upbeat, which honestly makes a big difference in starting the day. More of this — kindness, humility, being humorous, and positivity, is needed, and especially with all of the craziness going on in our country and world. She was patient with my non-English speaking significant other and took the time to be courteous and allow us to better understand the menu prior to placing our orders. “Great location and lovely staff working here - always a smile, hello, and cheerful engagement. There are some constant staff and then some rotation but have to say I always feel valued and appreciated as a customer. They are super fast at doing your drinks and food. I do order a few minutes before I go there as I live down the road and its handy to get the order in, breeze in and they have it ready. I also don't mind waiting but figure sometimes its easier for them when you order ahead.Location is always spotless and there is nearly always someone cleaning up, wiping floors or making sure its clean. They do have seating outside the store which closes in the evenings but is usually well set with students from AU and retirees and business folks doing interviews and meetings. They also have outside seating which is fab in the warmer weather. Depending on the time of day you may or may not be lucky to get seating. In winter there are some seats along the walkways to the medical center so if you're stuck walk down the corridor and you'll find some spots to park yourself.Great beverages, tasty treats and great staff. I love it!“

“Stopped in for an afternoon frappe. The team members were incredibly kind and helpful, in a way, hacking my frappe to get the exact taste I was craving.

Edit: they estimated about a 30 minute wait time, and it ended up being more like 15 minutes. Very impressed.

Also, please pick up your drinks lol because some of us were waiting on our mobile drinks and we were there to pick it up. I know things can get tied up, but there should not be that many pending mobile drinks waiting to be picked up the entire time that I was standing there and then some. 😂“

“This is one of the smoothest operating Starbucks I've seen in recent years.

I watched as team members had a meeting about 15 minutes before the rush came in.

As i enjoyed my latte and egg bites, the rush was undeniable. O guess the regulars order on the app before arriving. Employees were each at their stations. The action began with the smoothness of calling out prepared orders, taking orders, greeting customers and wishing them a good day as they left. True team work. One mission. Accomplished.

Kudos to the team for their efforts.

“This Starbucks is my go to Starbucks when I’m working out of the office because it’s down the street from my sons daycare. Today I was here at 10am ish. And order a latte based on the recommendation from the barista. I also order the bacon breakfast sandwich. When I bit into the sandwich it was still very cold. They remade it no issues. I should mention today is the day Starbucks brought back the free refills and the mug service. So I ordered my coffee in the mug because I knew I’d be here till around 5pm. When I went to get refill it was my surprise I could not. I was informed that I didn’t order the correct drink even though when I was ordering I excitedly told the barista that I was excited about the refills and ordered it in the mug for that purpose. Despite this the wonderful store manager Josh took the time to explain to me what coffees and teas qualified and he gave me a refill anyway even though my drink didn’t qualify. I really appreciated that as I didn’t believe it was my fault. Love this Takoma location. Thanks Josh!“

“This is a great Starbucks. The staff… they’re beyond friendly. The drinks are amazing, made better than the standard! Please do not let others bad experiences stop you from coming here. As I read the reviews, people only come here when they have a problem, Davida D to be specific. Everyone is so nice to me. Shoutout to Lorenz, the store manager who has the worst Dad jokes lol. “I have been coming here for at least about 3 years Donald who is one of the cashiers is great very engaging, personable, friendly. However I have an issue with most of the female baristas every time And I only get two pumps of different flavorings but if they're rushed and it's not full pumps and I can taste the difference there's always a bit of an attitude and once I was told by I guess a manager who was a female that if they continue to add additional pumps they would have to charge me more, which my response was I don't need you to add more I just needed to be made the correct way and at that point I just asked for it to be remade That was a year or so ago but since then I still have reservations going to this location because each time there's no smiles from many of the ladies. However the young male baristas don't give too much push back if I offer suggestions on how to make it right the first time. There are times that I've left with whatever was made, but I was unhappy about it however going for it I've stopped doing that because I realized I'm paying almost $7 for a cup of coffee and it should be made the right way. I remember when Starbucks employees were in line with that of Chick-fil-A employees, but however out of most of the Starbucks locations with the exception of Tysons Corner at the greenboro location, and Arlington at the Pentagon Mall location near Fern Street, many of the employees do not carry the same smile Oh I must also mention that 15th Street Northwest the employees to great especially Tanya, and The gentleman who work at the wharf, again for whatever reason the female baristas don't always smile however there is a new female cashier who is very young and friendly.

Drop in morale or if it's just personality and Starbucks not enforcing employee demeanor and maybe this is the type of managers that are being hired as well.“

“This is probably the busiest Starbucks in DC, so don’t expect it to be the fastest, BUT the team here is absolutely crushing it. They greet every customer when they walk in and they are cranking out food and drinks like I’ve never seen before. Truly impressive.“

“I stopped by a Starbucks near the White House in Washington, D.C. while I was heading out of the city. The location was very convenient, and the store itself was clean and had a nice, comfortable atmosphere—perfect for a quick stop.

Most of the staff were friendly and efficient, and my order was prepared quickly and correctly. However, one of the employees I interacted with was quite rude and not very welcoming, which unfortunately affected my overall experience.

That said, aside from that interaction, everything else was good. I hope the customer service can be more consistent in the future, because it’s otherwise a great spot.“

There was plenty of staff, so I didn't have to wait too long for my order. I tried the Cirtus Blossom; it was my first time having this flavor, and it was delicious. “Best Starbucks experience ever! Bless the 3 baristas working the morning shift on June 14th! I ordered a matcha latte and knew when I was handed a hot latte that I ordered it wrong-I wanted iced on this 90+ degree day at the zoo! I asked for a cup of ice to dump it into and they refused saying they were going to make me a new one!! The one barista heard iced latte and missed the matcha part. I was a little bummed but grateful it was iced!! I happily took it. The third barista caught up to us at the entrance of the zoo with an iced matcha latte saying, “I heard you wanted matcha!” Most refreshing drink ever! Highlight of our DC trip!!“

“Came in on 11/15/25 during a work break and received stellar customer service from Lavonda. I love the Caramel Brulee but I wanted to try something different. I went with the Gingerbread Chai Latte (with hesitation), and I'm glad I did. It was actually pretty tasty. I would get it again. Still not better that the Caramel, but a solid 2nd place. “Marriot hotels are always good places to stay. Being members we booked the Washington DC property for a night. The hotel is pet friendly and we had our dog accompany us. Check in was smooth, as were bell boy services to get in bags. Rooms are well appointed with coffee maker and supplements. Members lounge offers refreshments morning and evening. There is a Starbucks outlet on board which we used. Valet parking is recommended if you have your own car. The hotel is 15 minutes away from The White House - Lincoln memorial- Victory Tower- War memorial etc. The staff is courteous and attentive. Security people are watchful for guest safety. Worth to stay here if you come to DC.“

“I've been going here for years. Five stars for Dani, and really the whole crew. True, this is just an OK location inside a Crate and Barrel, and there is a much better coffee shop property a few doors down. But there is a decent outside seating area, and the staff is A+, always has been.“

“This Starbucks was a lifesaver during our time in Washington, D.C.! Two days in a row, it came through with great coffee, refreshing cold drinks, tasty pastries, and, most importantly, some much-needed A/C from the summer heat.

The service was fast, and the baristas were very friendly. If you’re visiting the Bible Museum or the National Air and Space Museum, this is the perfect spot to take a break, cool down, and recharge before continuing your day. However there is not a lot of room, no many tables or chairs.“
