The space is large with plenty of places to sit. It can get busy, but they have a pretty efficient system. A digital board lets you know where your order stands in real time.“

“I really enjoy stopping by here whenever I need a quick pick-me-up. The coffee is always consistent, and I love having so many different drink options to choose from. It is a super convenient place to sit and get some work done or just relax for a little while, even if it can get pretty busy and noisy during the peak hours of the day.“

For those of us who frequent this location (and would quite honestly prefer to patronize a small business, but that’s beside the point) the repetitive tracks are MADDENING. And Cocteau Twins? Really? Listening to C.T.🎶 in a starbucks is like, …. I dunno. Just stop.“

“Great location and lovely staff working here - always a smile, hello, and cheerful engagement. There are some constant staff and then some rotation but have to say I always feel valued and appreciated as a customer. They are super fast at doing your drinks and food. I do order a few minutes before I go there as I live down the road and its handy to get the order in, breeze in and they have it ready. I also don't mind waiting but figure sometimes its easier for them when you order ahead.Location is always spotless and there is nearly always someone cleaning up, wiping floors or making sure its clean. They do have seating outside the store which closes in the evenings but is usually well set with students from AU and retirees and business folks doing interviews and meetings. They also have outside seating which is fab in the warmer weather. Depending on the time of day you may or may not be lucky to get seating. In winter there are some seats along the walkways to the medical center so if you're stuck walk down the corridor and you'll find some spots to park yourself.Great beverages, tasty treats and great staff. I love it!“

“While I do enjoy the vast variety of beverages at Starbucks that is not why I am writing this review. Since I moved in the area almost a year ago there has been a young man who has been a shining star at this location. Chris Brooks has always had a smile on his face and always welcomed me the moment I walked in! Handling mountains of orders with grace and treating every single person as a VIP. Sadly I am moving at the end of the month but I wanted to make sure he got his roses. Everyone here does a good job representing the brand, but I must say I have never experienced this level of genuine hospitality and I have been to some of the best restaurants in the country!

He makes your location shine amongst the rest in the area and I have been to several. I usually don't waste my time writing reviews and I just tip but this guy is truly special. Chris if your reading this keep doing your thing! Your day will come and thanks for making a simple cup of black coffee one of the things I look forward to. “Came here last week with my 2 year old daughter. We like to come once a week. The staff is always friendly. But they really showed their true colors at our last visit— my daughter suddenly threw up in the lobby after drinking a smoothie pouch. It was bad. Not a little bit of spit up. Projectile. She never does that, so I was a bit embarrassed. But the staff didn’t shame us at all. They brought her some water and someone came to clean it up with the best attitude. Surely they don’t get paid enough for that but it made that experience a lot better than it could have been. Turns out she spiked a fever later in the day so it was due to a brief stomach bug.

All of that said, I wish I had all the staff’s names because they all deserve a raise, a vacation, something!“

“I visit this location every single day. The customer service they provide is the best I have received ever . They make your beverages with love . I pass numerous locations I’ve visited before just to go here even though they are closer because I know I’m going to get great customer service.“

“This Starbucks cafe saved me from the horrible heat, and even though there were not many places to sit, I appreciated the A/C. I ordered the vanilla sweat cream cold brew drink and it was just what the doctor ordered. It was ready for me and still cold like they just made it seconds ago. I sat for a few minutes, then went on my way. The person who helped me was kind. I just wish that someday they bring back the chairs!“

“This is a much better location than the Grand Hyatt across the street. It’s very spacious. There’s a large wall counter with outlets to get your work done. Friendly service. Big clean restrooms. And the iced coffee was brewed fresh and strong during my visits.“

“Came in a few random times and it’s a pretty solid place. I went in a few weeks ago and saw this creep guy recording the baristas. Next thing I know he was one of the baristas working. They might wanna be careful of that guy. He seemed a little rude to some of the customers as well.“

More of this — kindness, humility, being humorous, and positivity, is needed, and especially with all of the craziness going on in our country and world. She was patient with my non-English speaking significant other and took the time to be courteous and allow us to better understand the menu prior to placing our orders. “Cierra is an absolute gem of a human!As I went to order an afternoon venti iced chai latte to get me through the rest of my work day, my ApplePay was acting up. I realized I’d forgotten to transfer the appropriate amount in advance, and was left fumbling at the register and holding up the line. Cierra didn’t even hesitate, she just said “Don’t worry about it, it’s on me! It’ll be under Cierra.” I was left speechless for a moment and she had to clarify that she had, in fact, bought my drink for me. It was an act of pure kindness, and it honestly made my whole day. “I started coming to this Starbucks after unfortunately having recurring bad experiences at the location on 13th & F, closer to Metro Center Station. And so far, I haven’t had any major issues here. The service can be a little slow, and they sometimes call out orders in a pretty sloppy way, so I’d recommend ordering ahead if you can. It can also get a little noisy, but I mean, it’s a smaller Starbucks right in the middle of downtown, so I don’t really expect it to be completely quiet.

Other than that, I don’t have any major complaints. The coffee is always good, and I personally haven’t had any issues with the staff being overly rude or unpleasant to me. I wouldn’t sit here to work or read for an extended period of time, but if you’re just grabbing a coffee on your way to work, it’s totally fine.“

“Stopped in for an afternoon frappe. The team members were incredibly kind and helpful, in a way, hacking my frappe to get the exact taste I was craving.

Chill vibes in the space as well. Large windows to observe passing traffic.“

“I know that 5 star reviews tend not to get taken serious but in this case two individuals at this location deserve the highest marks possible. On the night of 3-24-18 as our vacation was ending we stopped at this location to explain a situation we had just experienced at another Starbucks that was closing and because of their rush to leave made our 4 drinks without much care to the point that not one tasted as a Starbucks drink or even anything we could get a gas station. So after looking for another open Starbucks we entered the location at 1301 Connecticut Ave and after Bobby (Supervisor on duty) and Eli (Barista) heard our story they proceeded with remaking our drinks no questions asked. It is this type of attention to a customer's concern that has made us Starbucks patrons over other establishments. Thank you for what you guys did as we were able to enjoy the last night of our time in DC drinking our Latte, White Mocha and two Hot Chocolate for our girls. Keep up the good work!“

“i only got a cake pop so i can't comment on the baristas' drink making skills (it's starbucks, you can only do so much with the crap equipment and ingredients they give you, let's be real) but the baristas were all very talkative and kind to me! limited seating but most people aren't sticking around very long, so it was easy to find a spot“

“I have been coming here for at least about 3 years Donald who is one of the cashiers is great very engaging, personable, friendly. However I have an issue with most of the female baristas every time And I only get two pumps of different flavorings but if they're rushed and it's not full pumps and I can taste the difference there's always a bit of an attitude and once I was told by I guess a manager who was a female that if they continue to add additional pumps they would have to charge me more, which my response was I don't need you to add more I just needed to be made the correct way and at that point I just asked for it to be remade That was a year or so ago but since then I still have reservations going to this location because each time there's no smiles from many of the ladies. However the young male baristas don't give too much push back if I offer suggestions on how to make it right the first time. There are times that I've left with whatever was made, but I was unhappy about it however going for it I've stopped doing that because I realized I'm paying almost $7 for a cup of coffee and it should be made the right way. I remember when Starbucks employees were in line with that of Chick-fil-A employees, but however out of most of the Starbucks locations with the exception of Tysons Corner at the greenboro location, and Arlington at the Pentagon Mall location near Fern Street, many of the employees do not carry the same smile Oh I must also mention that 15th Street Northwest the employees to great especially Tanya, and The gentleman who work at the wharf, again for whatever reason the female baristas don't always smile however there is a new female cashier who is very young and friendly.

Drop in morale or if it's just personality and Starbucks not enforcing employee demeanor and maybe this is the type of managers that are being hired as well.“

“Remy is truly the best Barista at this location! He was incredibly warm welcoming and that very much needed after being so overwhelmed by grocery shopping. “Visited on a Friday and Saturday during our visit to the Wharf. This Starbucks is really clean, with professional Baristas who served our order quickly and with a smile. There is a lot of seating inside and out, and the location makes for a terrific way to start the morning near the water.“

“This Starbucks did not disappoint. I ordered a Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Brew and loved how smooth the coffee tasted. The sweet cream added just enough sweetness without covering up the coffee flavor. I also grabbed a butter croissant and it tasted fresh. Such a good combination.“

“I love this place. I’ve never been to a starbucks that prepares food this immaculately and flavorfully. A couple days ago I tried the best iced pumpkin chai latte of my life. I don’t know why, but the way this establishment makes their drinks stands out tremendously. If you’ve never been to a Starbucks and are located in the dmv area, this is the one to try, as well as if you are visiting for a short or extended period of time, great location next to dupont underground which is open during the evenings on Fridays and occasionally free. A great experience for me was having an iced matcha and cinnamon bites with their cream cheese dip, and walking out of the door down to the steps of Dupont Underground (check their hours to see when their open and/or free on website) and enjoying the art. 10/10 recommend. I will say the employees aren’t that friendly, but the food makes up for it.“

“Darrell was INCREDIBLE! I have a very demanding job and I needed to be up early to welcome a client. He welcomed me graciously at a very early hour and was so intuitive. He asked if I was going to use the Starbucks app to pay. I did and somehow he was able to see my preference for a drink that I forgot to order. He initially saw this and asked if I wanted my drink prepared with oat milk! He was incredible! So quick. I know that this level of detail takes a lot of time to get! Way to go!“

“I stopped by a Starbucks near the White House in Washington, D.C. while I was heading out of the city. The location was very convenient, and the store itself was clean and had a nice, comfortable atmosphere—perfect for a quick stop.

Most of the staff were friendly and efficient, and my order was prepared quickly and correctly. However, one of the employees I interacted with was quite rude and not very welcoming, which unfortunately affected my overall experience.

That said, aside from that interaction, everything else was good. I hope the customer service can be more consistent in the future, because it’s otherwise a great spot.“

“Marriot hotels are always good places to stay. Being members we booked the Washington DC property for a night. The hotel is pet friendly and we had our dog accompany us. Check in was smooth, as were bell boy services to get in bags. Rooms are well appointed with coffee maker and supplements. Members lounge offers refreshments morning and evening. There is a Starbucks outlet on board which we used. Valet parking is recommended if you have your own car. The hotel is 15 minutes away from The White House - Lincoln memorial- Victory Tower- War memorial etc. The staff is courteous and attentive. Security people are watchful for guest safety. Worth to stay here if you come to DC.“

“Came in on 11/15/25 during a work break and received stellar customer service from Lavonda. I love the Caramel Brulee but I wanted to try something different. I went with the Gingerbread Chai Latte (with hesitation), and I'm glad I did. It was actually pretty tasty. I would get it again. Still not better that the Caramel, but a solid 2nd place. “This was my first time at this location. The inside is tight. There is a small area to wait in line and very few seating options. There was plenty of staff, so I didn't have to wait too long for my order. I tried the Cirtus Blossom; it was my first time having this flavor, and it was delicious. I would return to this location, but I would plan not to stick around since seating is limited.“

“I've been going here for years. Five stars for Dani, and really the whole crew. True, this is just an OK location inside a Crate and Barrel, and there is a much better coffee shop property a few doors down. But there is a decent outside seating area, and the staff is A+, always has been.“

“I love iced coffee and Starbucks is the only place that's has iced coffee that actually still taste like coffee. Most places use weak coffee and then when it's iced it taste watered down and awful. I haven't been to a Starbucks yet that didn't have consistently delicious coffee and good service.“
