“Ok - so I've honestly turned my nose up at this place in recent years because it feels like people love it for the novelty (it's in a Days Inn motel) and not the food. But real talk, I ordered the cumin lamb, and I put in the notes: "I AM ASIAN PLEASE MAKE VERY SPICY" - and Panda Gourmet delivered. I was hurting, and it was so good. Their cumin lamb was so flavorful and sooooo spicy. It honestly rivals Bobs Shanghai in Rockville (which is very high praise because I'm obsessed with theirs). Panda Gourmet's mapo tofu is a lil weak, but next time, I'll put the same note on it too and maybe they'll kick it up a notch.“
“How have I forgotten to write a review for Sichuan Pavilion??? It is my absolute go-to in DC for mapo tofu. I don't get Chinese takeout often, but of the handful of places I've tried, this one tops them all. My partner is a fan of their Eggplant with garlic sauce and their vegetable lo mein. I'm not going to describe any of these in further detail because they're all so universal, if you've had a good version, you know, and they're all good versions here. Extremely generous portions, including of the complimentary white rice, and the service is quick and very courteous. Being near Farragut Square makes it super convenient to get to, too.“

“Had a late evening and decided to get carry out; ordered online and the food was made quickly and ready when we arrived. The workers were so kind and double checked our food to make sure we had everything before we left, (without even being asked to!). The portions were large and my Dad claims 'that was the best orange chicken I've ever had.' Would highly recommend and would eat here again!“
“They have the best General Tso's chicken in my opinion. They're fried chicken is decent. I don't prefer their mumbo sauce. To ensure you're not waiting 10-15 mins inside or in your vehicle I'd suggest calling your order in.“
“This was a really nice vibe for a late night. Lots of people “possibly because it was late and the only thing open but was also the same night of a Doja Cat concert” The food was really good, I had beef and broccoli and it tasted different from any other I’ve had before (I’m a good way) and it was honestly one of the top Chinese take outs for me.“
“Food was fantastic! However, we had very poor experience with service. It was a struggle to find/get our server, get more water, or rice (we never got it even when asked 4 times). Our total time spent was 2.5 hours for 5 people (ended up having to pay for parking - 2hrs free). My friends never experienced this in their previous visits. We spoke with manager and he was very friendly and apologetic - kindly taking 50% off our bill and offering deserts and cocktails.Probably one unlucky visit - so I will be visiting again.“
“Pleasantly surprised with how good the food was. The iron pot rice with chicken sausage was excellent. The rice was cooked perfectly and not overpowered by soy sauce. What's nice is the menu offers more hard core Chinese dishes in a way that many in the US could appreciate. The flounder in numbing sauce is an example. This is not a dish you'll see on most Chinese menus in suburbia US. It is a good choice and had interesting flavors without being too odd. The steamed bronzino is another example of a good balance of flavors and not masking the taste of the fish. The restaurant is nicely decorated and provided a good environment for a meal with friends.“
“Surprisingly nice. But why "surprising"? I can't say I expected much, but my mother and I were very pleased with our choices. The eggplant (small plate) was a good starter. It was a lot like an Asian version of fries. I personally found it a bit salty, but good flavor and texture. The ghost chicken (small plate) was cooked to perfection! I will say without proof that I doubt it was made with real ghost pepper, unless it was in the spice mix. There appear to be red chilis and habanero. Spicy, but actually not as much as I expected. The Mongolian beef was excellent. Tender pieces of beef and a rich sauce. It's sort of a secret menu item, but you can request a spicy version. Our server kind of just knew, and proposed it as the order. Asian chefs in the kitchen, so you know they know what's up. Nice interior. Quiet and unassuming.“
“Dim sum is brought out from the kitchen rather than served from steam carts going around the restaurant. As for the taste and quality, they depend on what item you order. I liked the bean curd roll and the shrimp stuffed tofu but the fried chive dumplings were gummy. Prices start at $5.25 per order and go up to over $10. The service was pleasant but weekends are extremely busy here.“
