Delicious brunch and excellent service!
We had a lovely brunch.
Food- we did the prefix and it did not disappoint. Dishes were well thought out, flavorful, and good portion sizes. Nice mix of salads, soups, burgers, fish, Benedict, we got it all!
Drinks- love the bottomless drink option for brunch. Mimosa sangria or margarita, yes please.
Space- good lighting, open layout, nice wood and simple decor. Patio is nice too, yet no shade.
Service- Juliana was attentive and friendly.

Opal is a stylish restaurant with a lively atmosphere, making it suitable for many occasions. During Sunday brunch, guests can enjoy fresh and delicious cronuts and a unique gravlax mezze plate. The menu for dinner features dishes like Maine Lobster Ravioli, Clams with Saffron Spaghetti, Dry Aged Roseda Beef Striploin, and Mushroom Risotto. Their Key Lime Pie and cocktails are highly praised, especially the mezcal cucumber cocktail, which is a top seller. The restaurant has a cozy yet modern decor, with an open kitchen and an outdoor patio perfect for enjoying meals in good weather. On Sundays, diners can choose between patio and indoor seating and taste four different skewers with various sauces and toppings. The service has been noted as attentive and first-rate, with staff ensuring a great experience. Recent reviews highlight the exceptional service provided by staff members like Neariah, whose warm demeanor and attentiveness enhance the dining experience. The food is generally good, with dishes like the corn veloute and sweet potato latkes receiving positive remarks, although some items like Chicken and Waffles have been noted as underwhelming. Parking can be a challenge, and the music can be quite loud at times, but the lively environment compensates for these minor issues. Opal has hosted successful team dinners with excellent food and service, making it a popular stop in DC, especially for those visiting Chevy Chase.
