I got the smoked wings, ribs, and collards. The meats has a nice REAL smoked flavor, seasoned to perfection, and the collards were on point. I look forward to trying more food items from the menu. I highly recommend!“

“What a wonderful experience! The staff is attentive and friendly with great recommendations! We had the juicy and flavorful brisket, the pulled lamb with corn chips (my favorite), and some perfectly smoked ribs.

Favorite sides were the Zesty Salad, Potato Salad, and Mac and Cheese!“

“I'm a proud Royal Rooster regular and the food is always superb. I'm particularly fond with the Honey Butter Chicken Sandwich. The family that runs the restaurant are extremely welcoming and hospitable. I always feel at home when dining.“

“This review is only for the SMOKED WINGS. They are the best in the DMV for more than 20 years. It’s all I get. With the spicy bbq sauce (and I don’t even like barbecue sauce—seriously). Do yourself a favor and give them a try if you’re ever in the vicinity. FYI: It is a carry-out (grab and go).🛍️

“Great ambiance and bartenders. Had to seat my 11 and 12 yo at the bar because singletons had gotten there before and reserved all the tables before an IU game. The bartender was great and even with a PACKED house teased my kids and made sure they got their lemonade. It was a great day, even with the loss to Ohio.“

“The food was amazing. My favorite were the collard greens. My husband and I weren't extremely hungry so we ordered a few items and shared them. His favorite were the Burnt ends. Great flavor and super tender. Prices are fair.
The outside seating area was absolutely perfect. It is covered with walls that open up to the outside so you still feel like you are outside.
Perfect for a date night. The drinks were a perfect blend. There were some food items that were strictly on the bar menu so we will have to go back to try them.
I feel like the atmosphere is more for adults not children.
Parking garage is close by.“

“Don't miss this place!!! You blink and you could drive right by it and that would be a loss. All the food was so yummy and tasted freshly made. The meats weren't greasy or tough. Moist, seasoned perfectly, and came to our table quickly so it all was hot. The loaded fries weren't soggy or to heavy. Great sides. Overall we'd come again.“

“We stopped for lunch yesterday after leaving the zoo. The aroma when we opened the door hooked us from the start. Our waiter, Courtland, was amazing and took excellent care of us. His recommendations were spot on. The food came out hot, fast and delicious. I have no idea when I’ll be back in DC again, but I know where I’ll want to eat when I am.“

“I eat at Iron Age every time I pass through DC. It is an awesome experience with great food. The price is also very good at $30 for 90 minutes. I just can't order the shrimp because it is whole shrimp with eyes and all.“
