German Restaurants near Washington, DC

“The food here is pretty good- but when my schnitzel sandwich came out the bottom bun was absolutely drenched in oil along with the tray it was served on. The schnitzel itself was tasty but I had to completely deconstruct the sandwich due to the oil soaked bottom bun. Others in my group had the schnitzel platter and wurst platter which they both enjoyed. The wait staff were not very attentive as they were very busy and only checked on us once right after our food arrived. Additionally the bathroom floor was soaking wet and not very clean. I’d like to come back as they have a great selection of German beers and fun atmosphere but there are definitely areas they can improve.“

“Super delicious, authentic German food and beer. I had the appetizer selection of sausages for my entree with a side of warm potato salad. The portion sizes are large and makes a good value. The beer mix with lower alcohol content was refreshing and delicious, as was the bottled hofbrauhaus Winter Spezial. The service was cordial. The atmosphere was pleasant but a little loud, so not a place for an intimate conversation. We would definitely frequent this place if we lived nearby!“

“First time visitor I really enjoyed Latin night, bachata one one floor, salsa on another. The bachatosphere was very lively. Tonight by coincidence, I met someone who recently visited my area, Virginia Beach. Small world!! The food was great!!“

“This was my 2nd visit to Lyon Hall. It was a definite positive experience. I will definitely return again soon. The food was very well prepared. You couldn't ask for better service. This visit was on the ground floor of the building. I prefer it over the option of sitting on the 2nd floor or outside. Thank you for making it a pleasurable experience.“

“My husband and I drove down from Loudoun county. This place was absolutely amazing. It had so much to remind us of my husbands home. We got a sandwich and than of course some haribo candy. Also some German goodies of meat. We will definitely be back again.“

“Beer and staff are exceptionally awesome. Crowd is solid and this is a overall awesome place. Only downside is the food….the crab pretzel was like eating crunchy cream cheese you left in your car for an entire summer in Death Valley. Pierogis were meh as they needed seasoning but i would order them again. Come for the beer and the crowed but eat something else first.“

“We used the private Hofbrau Room for a party. What a great venue! Food and drinks were great and the service outstanding. Carla was amazing to deal with, answering questions, adding special request food items to the menu and letting us decorate and make last minute changes. Highly recommend if you need a private party space.“
