A very elegant hotel, modern and clean, everything you expect from a high class hotel. We recently stayed for 3 nights at the Mandarin Oriental in DC and we couldn’t be happier! Their customer focus, pet friendliness, and service are 100% phenomenal!!! The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Shoutout to Alex, John, and Josh in the front desk checkin for their superb customer service. The facilities are immaculate, very close to the Wharf and mall area. We barely used our car when we were there since most places are walkable. The rooms are clean, modern, and stylish. The pool is great and am sure the Spa is even better. Thank you for a most memorable stay at this luxurious hotel. It wont be our last!

We love MO, and had a wonderful weekend. The service was ALWAYS quite professional. The front desk staff created some confusion with respect to what was included in our package, resulting in an inaccurate bill at checkout. Having said that, the desk person at checkout resolved the confusion without hesitation or having to go “talk to the manager.” Very nicely done. The in room breakfasts and in room afternoon tea were excellent. Great facility, great location. We overlooked the Tidal Basin all weekend. We’ll definitely return.

Hotel is within walking distance to the Mall, and the Wharf. The staff was beyond courteous, friendly, and accommodating. My kids loved the pool, and the garden area. We did not get a chance to use the spa unfortunately. Extremely clean!

We just returned from an amazing stay at the Mandarin Oriental in Washington DC. The hotel is in a great location for seeing the tidal basin and the cherry blossoms. The restaurant was not open, but room service was expedient, and the food was fantastic! The only problem with staying here is you never want to leave your room! I was able to see the Jefferson Memorial at night even from the bath tub! We have traveled extensively, and this was one of the nicest hotels we've stayed!

My husband, myself, and our children (10, 13) came for their spring break. We were blown away by the personalization and genuine kindness of the staff. Everyone went way above and beyond to make sure our visit was as special as it could be. The facilities were impeccably clean and well maintained. They took extra measures to make sure the guests were safe during this pandemic. We were pleasantly surprised at how centrally located the hotel was. It is within walking distance to the Mall, the Warf, the Spy Museum, and the cherry blossom festival. There is a Starbucks across the street and two lunch spots within 100 yards of the front door. We were pleased to notice they are pet friendly and there were also lots of other families there too. We are looking forward to returning next year!

Excellent location for lunch: easy parking and quite close to many of the mall museums. Menu offers both light and more substantial fare. Delicious quiche.Staff are attentive and courteous.

My family and I are staying at the Mandarin and popped in for a late night dinner, honestly not expecting such an indelible impression. Our waiter, Nicholas was lovely and helpful and at the end of the dinner, even shared his strategy on tic tac doe with our 9 year old daughter. The meal was terrific - my husband's and daughter's steaks were cooked perfectly and served with grilled asparagus. My burger with cheddar was delicious, served on a brioche bun and a side of piping hot truffle fries with aioli dipping sauce. My vegetarian son was able to get a yummy veggie burger. All this plus the wine, dessert and conversation, made for lovely end to our first night in DC. We will be returning for breakfast tomorrow!

I went for my best friend's birthday and wanted somewhere with good ambiance. The restaurant itself is quite impressive looking, nice lighting, and a fire spectacle by the bar. My main issue is the quality of food for the price. I ordered the sea scallops ($39) and my friend ordered the salmon ($32). The portion of fish was quite small and a few of my scallops were gritty. We ended up ordering $8 fries to help fill us up. For the price, I expected more. I ordered a specialty drink ($25) which was a bourbon wood old fashioned and comes served in a smoking cage. While it was an ok photo op, I can't say it was worth the money. They just need to come down on the prices.

This restaurant was very promising. I came for Valentine’s Day and they had a four course prie fixed menu. Well two of my selections missed the mark. I had the truffle risotto and the truffles were very underwhelming. They had no smell or taste. A total waste. Then for my dessert I selected the molten lava cake but the lava curdled and was disgusting. For the price point that they asked for this menu selection, you would’ve thought they would’ve been able to serve a proper meal. On top of that, even though it was Valentine’s Day, the restaurant didn’t have a huge crowd so I’m not sure why they couldn’t get it right. If it weren’t for James, our server, I probably would’ve given it two stars. James is a gem. He was extremely funny, very personable and quite knowledgeable about food, wine and spirits. HIS SPIRIT controlled the room and he brought life into an otherwise conservative environment.

The service provided by James, our server, was extraordinary and we would go back just because of him. Our appetizers (lobster bisque and duck liver parfait) were delicious and the drinks were good. Service was prompt but our main courses were disappointing. My husband's steak was “horrendous,” dry, chewy, flavorless and over cooked. My burger was fine but nothing extraordinary. The truffle fries were tasty. The restaurant was wonderful about crediting us back the cost of the steak but we will not be ordering either of those entrees again.

I am a international traveler and a United States citizen and resident. This restaurant and meal was recommended while we stayed at hotel for valentines weekend 2020. The venue while nice did not equate to good food. The 4 course meal was tasteless except for the filet mignon. The setting was ok but the meal was very overpriced at $230.00 for two persons including one complimentary “sparking wine”. There are many other restaurants in DC who serve better tasting food for much better prices. I would sacrifice the ambiance of the restaurant for better tasting cuisine and certainly a modest 50% decrease in price. Food served needed to be more flavored less impressive on dishes we cannot pronounce and certainly less expensive

Outstanding restaurant! Long awaited replacement for City Zen. The Valentine menu with wine pairings was exceptional!

The vibe in the new space is good- clean, open. I ordered the Steak Frites and my colleague ordered the Mushroom Risotto. For food, I would say that the plate was attractive but the steak tasted like charcoal on the outside and was under seasoned. The risotto was good as expected. Our server was missing for very long periods of time which became annoying when we needed a condiment, a refill, or the check. We did have others jump in when they saw us looking around. Overall, I think the place has promise and I would try again!

Sleek but not cold decor. Professional service. Excellent burger; good risotto. Nice selection of wines by the glass. Overall, a great dining addition to this area dominated by fast food spots. Set in the Mandarin Oriental hotel.
