Food and service are OK, but I don't like the default 20% tip on the bill, and you only have the option for additional tip. Is this new normal in DC?

Humble establishment, focuses on the cuisine. Delicious sushi without being flashy. Edamame is simple but good, crab Rangoon leaves me wanting. Cocktails are delicious, recommend Tokyo Drift or Hagiri. Sushi slaps.

Stopped by Absolute Noodle and Sushi Bar on a weekend for a quick sushi fix, and it was a pretty average Asian spot. The decor is cute—casual with a mix of records on the wall and some Asian-inspired touches like lanterns. Service was fine—they were friendly but nothing special, just efficient. We had the pork bun, fire crunch roll, and poke donburi. The sushi and poke didn’t really stand out from the typical sushi fare but seemed fresh and tasted fine, the pork belly "slider" appetizer was nothing special and sounded better on paper than it tasted. It’s not obscenely expensive, but it’s not a steal either—it’s more about convenience as we were by the National Mall and were craving sushi for dinner. It’s a good no frills option if you’re nearby and craving sushi, but nothing to go out of your way for.

Absolutely horrible experience. We ordered the Thai lemongrass soup with thin rice noodles and fried chicken instead of roasted chicken, and some nigiri. The chicken came out very soggy I had to take it out, and the noodles were uncooked and sticky and broken at the same time. The waiterss did not ask about dietary restrictions and allergies, and came to find out this dish has peanuts after trying it . Extremely overpriced, for 2 soups, and 2 pieces of nigiri, the bill was $80. As a DC native, this was the worst restaurant I have ever been to in DC don’t recommend!

After 3 days of hiking all over the District of Columbia we found ourselves in the dim, cool confines of Absolute Noodle and sushi. Wonderfully friendly staff seated and took care of us throughout the visit. Plenty of gluten-free options, I opted for the choo chee salmon, which was delicious. My wife got the crispy chicken basil and said it was the best version of the dish she's ever had. Our daughter practically inhaled the sushi.

Dietary restrictions: Many gluten free options

Came here as a family of 4 with aps and mains it came out to $130, which i thought was decent .
Aps came out quick, mains came out shortly after.
The menu is pretty broad so I worried about the quality of flavor but everything was good.
Only down side would be the actual size of the restaurant, tight seatings between tables.
Over all great food and vibes.

Enjoyed a delicious kimchee ramen. Great service. Lively atmosphere. I was seeking a good ramen spot and looked up a few menus to specifically find this dish. It was a tad less spicy than I like but to be fair I didn’t ask up front about the spice level, I just assumed it would be spicier. Worth walking 30 mins across DC for!

A must visit, the food is excellent. During my time working in DC, we ate there many times, never once a bad meal. My highest recommendations.
