Absolutely phenomenal! Great wine, amazing food, affordable prices, lovely service, beautiful ambience. Get the sample pasta platter, sample steak platter and sample dessert platter. Thank me later (we did 2x pasta samplers, 1x steak samplers and 1x dessert samplers to satisfy two people) typing this review rn in a food coma

This place is worth visiting. They serve big portions for reasonable rates. Consistently well kept and with excellent atmosphere. Will come back again.

Nice place to find in Washington DC.I had the chance to have a dinner here since I already knew the Italian restaurant in Florence.Easy to reach and to book a table (by app from Italy), pleasant atmosphere and very kind personnel.Thank you

An incredible, delicious, and intimate restaurant! On a recent trip to Florence, I walked by an Acqua al 2 after having been to the DC location. Although I did not eat there in Florence, I was pleased to find out that the restaurant I'd loved so much in DC was the same owners as this one in Florence. An incredible Tuscan restaurant, their pasta sampler is really incredible. At a minimum of 2 people, they size the sampler according to how many people there are. In other words, they bring out the dish of pasta one at a time in the amount of portions as there are people at your table and serve it divided evenly among everyone's plates.I can't remember off the top of my head what pastas were offered the night we went, but I remember that they were all incredible and all 3 of us were extremely pleased. Pasta is fresh and delicious, and the amounts of each pasta are enough to satisfy the taste of each, but are small enough to be able to eat the 5 pastas. Would definitely return and again do the pasta sampler (although I've heard good things about the rest of the menu).

Acqua Al 2 has temporarily become a provisions store in the wake of COVID-19. Their online ordering form allows for delivery and I was able to get all the staples I needed (milk, eggs, onions, garlic, herbs) plus some delicious dried pasta! Their communication via email and text was clear and prompt and the delivery was hassle-free. Thank you for all that you're doing for the community at this time.

4 stars for a spot with some tasty and interesting food. I stopped by Acqual Al 2, located on 7th Street across from Eastern Market, to grab some lunch (about a 5 minute walk from the Eastern Market metro). The venue is a well-known political hot spot that isn't super fancy, so I wanted to stop by and check it out. I walked in and grabbed a seat at the bar on the right. The place has a cute small Tuscan restaurant look. The bartender came up to me and asked if I wanted anything to drink. I decided to get a wine flight based on the cute sign of chalkboard wines on the wall to the left. The wines come out of those wine dispensing machines which is kind of fun. I like the Amarone wine the best. In terms of food, I decided to go with their lunch special option (salad, entree, and dessert for something like $20). The insalata came out pretty quickly and was your fairly standard salad. I then had to wait a little while for my entree, which was a blueberry steak (aka the real reason I wanted to try this spot), but it was mostly worth the wait. The entree wasn't as mind blowing I was hoping (mainly because the steak underneath was pretty tough to cut), but the blueberry steak combo was pretty tasty (and messy) and fun for the price. My meal ended with the Barretta di Gianduja dessert, which was beautifully designed and a tasty way to end my meal. Overall, Acqua Al 2 provided me with a nice little lunch. While it is a little out of the way for me, I wouldn't mind stopping by here again for lunch or dinner sometime.

Delicious Italian food at Capitol Hill! Their sister restaurant is in Florence, and they serve homemade pastas. We had a selection of salads, including an amazing burrata. I then had the steak filet with blueberry sauce, and it was magical. I never would've thought to do blueberries with steak, but they executed it very well. And to finish, I had a taste of their panna cotta, which was just sweet enough I'm excited to come back to try more of their menu!

Acqua Al 2 is a really cozy, rustic restaurant in Eastern Market. They have truly outstanding service and a real Italian feel to the place. I ordered the salad tasting and the pasta tasting for my meal. I really enjoyed the salads that they made each with its own individual flavor and aspects. I wish I enjoyed the pasta tasting more, but I think I built up a lot of expectations for the experience. I only really thought 2 out of the 5 pastas were tasty and unique. (Sorry not all pastas were featured in my pictures) I felt that the other pastas that disappointed me were not well thought out in flavor or execution.

Meet my daughter and her two roommates for dinner and everyone enjoyed Acqua Al 2. Professional staff, delicious food, great menu and wine list. Our server Anastasia was wonderful. Definitely have the veal. I'll be back.

The host immediately met our party with a rude attitude. The host was completely put out when we asked to seat us at a different table that was available. The waiter gave us our check without offering dessert

We had a good dinner here a few nights ago. Started with the Burrata which was yummy. One in our party had the gnocchi with Gorgonzola and the others had the pasta sampler. While the sampler was good, I think next time I'll just pick the pasta that sounds best as the sampler was a lot of pasta. We will likely be back next time we are in DC.

Acqua Al 2 was right up there with the best Italian spots in DC. A bit more of a traditional Italian experience and the food was truly exceptional. The blueberry reduction on the steak is a winner!
