It was absolutely delicious, we were celebrating a bride to be and they made the experience so special!

Our waiter was very nice, patient, and attentive! Lovely service & ambience! I do wish some of the tables were not so close together, though. Most importantly, the food was very good!

Loved the ambiance. Made a reservation and had no wait on a busy night. It is nicely lit w attentive wait staff. We had never been before and were pleasantly surprised that it was as advertised. Fresh food w large portion sizes. Creative drinks and generous pours. We lingered and were not rushed. A quality place to enjoy a good meal in a bustling area of Georgetown!

My boyfriend and I went to lunch for Valentine's day. We had hummus, kibbeh, chicken kabobs and lamb kabobs. The food was subpar and very disappointing. I have had much better in DC. The restaurant has far to many chairs, making the noise levels extremely high. Overall I will not come back here.

I've eaten at a few Mediterranean restaurants and my wife and I agreed we don't need to go back.

A friend and I went for Restaurant Week brunch, and it was an amazing value for everything we got, particularly the portion size. The food is excellent. I've also been for dinner and loved it both times. It was packed and has a great vibe and pretty interior. It has nice bar seating, too.

The food was what you expect restaurant week The prices fix was $40 The reason I object to this restaurant was the 20% service charge which was not a tip!!! I won't ever go back since the wait staff was great but the 20% is a terrible scam!? Nice place very noisy but there are middle Eastern restaurant s that don't add 20% to restaurant week

Tyler

Great place, good restaurant week deal, and above my expectations overall. Excited to go back!

Added a 20% service fee on top of all meals without stating at the beginning of the meal. This does not count as a tip to the wait staff.

First time at Alara, it's a vibrant place, don't expect to have a quiet meal. We went on a Saturday evening and the restaurant was quite packed. The menu has options for everyone and great dishes to share. I definitely recommend the eggplant and cauliflower warm mezzes, and the chicken kabob and branzino as main dishes. Our waiter (Nino?) was wonderful! We will definitely be back.

The restaurant is beautiful and inviting. The service was friendly and attentive, but the main course was served immediately after the appetizers. We were done with dinner in an hour, a little too fast. The food was disappointing. We ordered the chef's mix (which was beautiful) and found everything too heavily seasoned, and the lamb chops too salty and tough. It's got a fun vibe, but I wish the quality of food was a little better and less seasoned. There is potential for Alara to be a big hit!

Wonderful!! The ambience was terrific, as was the service. Our waiter was fabulous and so was the food. Will be coming back for sure when in the DC area again.

Wonderful place! Food was excellent. My friend who is a vegetarian had many options. The presentation is lovely and the servers were attentive and answered any questions we had. Particularly good was the “mezze” spread of many different dips. The chicken kabab that I had was very tasty as was the halloumi cheese & tomato appetizer. The rice pudding was the best I had in years. My friend enjoyed her vegetarian moussaka and loved the baklava! Will definitely go back!

The ambiance was nice and the service was great, but the food was not spectacular and the portions were small for the kabob plates. My husband got the branzino, our daughter got the lamb kebab, our son got the chicken shish, and I got the salad with the chicken shish. My plate was the most inexpensive and the biggest, I liked it. Nobody else was really impressed. It did the job on a busy and rainy Saturday night in Georgetown.

I had the most incredible time at Alara! I went with 9 friends for my birthday and had thee best cocktails and food, along with an exceptional waiter. The atmosphere was perfect - a small amount of bustle and energy, mixed with still feeling like I had a private dinner with friends. I can't wait to come back!!
