A very friendly neighborhood bar with great bike racks outside and a nice patio.

Absolutely love All Souls. It’s a neighborhood staple and it’s there for whatever you’re feeling that evening, whether it’s a chill night with a cocktail or a full turn up. The “All Souls” drink says everything you need to know about this place: it’s a glass of champagne and a shot of whiskey. Basically, All Souls is the kind of bar I would open if I ever opened a bar.

I don’t even want to give one star to this place. The bartenders were incredibly rude to me. I will not be coming back.

As I continue to tackle my list of places to go in DC, I decided to check out this place yesterday. It was meh. It's a dive bar located in a pretty quiet neighborhood. The bartender wasn't friendly at all. She was busy writing things in a notebook and doing crossword puzzles and seemed like a rather unfriendly person. The drinks were ok. This place definitely isn't my cup of tea but I wanted to scratch it off my list as it gets good reviews online.

Seeking the solace of a simple, divey bar for somber drinking during a rain storm, a few colleagues and myself piled in, shook off, and took a seat at the big curved copper bar in the small grey cinderblock building. We were presented with a brief but delightfully varied draft list, and a list of cocktails that was straightforward and no-nonsense. After ordering our drinks and settling in, we got into some small talk with the bartender, a affable, well-dressed man with an impeccable beard and a friendly smile. Through the course of the chit-chat we requested recommendations for other, similarly dispositioned drinking holes, and this gentleman provided us with a list written on a coaster that would act as a roadmap for our own little puddle-hopping bar crawl through downtown DC. This casual act of honest kindness sent us on one of the most delightful jaunts through an unfamiliar city that I've ever had, and I'll be forever grateful for the priceless information that this gentleman and scholar provided us with that night. If it weren't for All Souls, it never would have happened. I can't think of a better place in the entire town to start your night than this humble little neighborhood bar.

It's pricey and dark and hard to find seating but the bartenders are nice and the drinks are good. No happy hour & they have a 20% service fee added. Make sure you come early to get a seat. LGBTQ friendly and accessible friendly (there was a small ramp & it's open/large inside).

This is an intimate and comfortable spot with plenty of seating options and drink options! What a friendly staff and helpful, too!

This is my sister's default bar; she's a DC native. She converted me and it's where I bring friends when I'm here on a work trip. It's a cozy, dark, neighborhood bar focused on cocktails, mostly made from standard ingredients (I wouldn't exactly call it "craft" but they're not basic either. ) Service is quick, staff are friendly, and if you look through the library on their website, there's guaranteed to be a drink for you. They've started using more products made in DC, which is also cool. Prices are lower than most cocktail bars, and yes they do add a mandatory 22% "tip", but people, wait staff have to eat. They now kind of have a little food, but basically bring it yourself or order in. Can't go wrong with a giant slice from the pizza next door. I'll stop coming back here when it burns down, pretty much.

Came with friends from out of town before dinner reservations and ordered the All Souls. The sparking rose and maker's mark was a nice combination that was soothing and searing. The space looked small but was quite cozy and comfortable. We sat together and chatted easily without disturbing others. There is one restroom but it was clean and gender neutral. We didn't have any of the food but the snack options looked tempting.

Service is horrendous, bartenders are raging assholes, and the drinks are absurdly overpriced. Stay away at all costs!

Good rooftop but horrible manners on the phone. Woman I spoke with did not say hello when she answered and immediately had an attitude when asking a question (when it was not their busy hours). It is very off-putting to encounter staff like that before I even step into the building.

Cheap place relative to an actual cocktail bar but the vibe here is closer to a dive bar. Bar tenders aren't actually mixologists, you can tell by ordering a basic mixed drink which to be honest can be a good thing if you want a cocktail that's really heavy on liquor. Not a lot of snacks or finger food options, rude and obnoxious staff, one restroom, overall depends what you're looking for to be honest if it's a neighborhood watering hole then yeah go for it but if it's a night out on the town then no. Also 22% gratuity enforced.
