It was super hot on Sunday. The greeter tried to seat us in the plastic outdoor tent which felt like a sauna. They changed our seating to the standard outdoor seating. No air conditioning, no fan, no accommodations. Some food came out fast while other entrees came out so slowly that our waiter submitted another request for them. Honestly, it would have been better to eat next door at Matchbox pizza. They had air conditioning, a bar and a DJ.
We thoroughly enjoyed the Ambar Unlimited Brunch experience, which was wonderful. So many dishes to try, and all were delicious. Such a great price for all-you-can-eat brunch with a variety that isn't a buffet.
Food was amazing and service was excellent. The salmon dish was just okay. Everything else was outstanding.
Ambar is amazing! Best place south of the mall. Such good food and good drinks for a great price!! The manager Shaun was so sweet and inviting, he made the whole experience fun for me and my boyfriend! We love it and we've been back almost once a week!! Highly recommend and I will be back ( a LOT)
Just go. I've sampled Balkan cuisine throughout Eastern Europe and this rivals any meal I've eaten anywhere. We loved it.
We had brunch. The day was beautiful. We were in the streetery. The food was very good. Very good value.
The concept of unlimited small plates for a fixed price worked wonderfully for us. There was such a variety of interesting and distinctive Balkan dishes that we wanted to try, so this dining concept was just right. The service was attentive and friendly, dishes arrived in a perfectly choreographed and timed parade of culinary delight. Particularly delicious were the roasted beet salad and spread, the lamb lasagne and six-hour baked lamb. There was a relatively inexpensive Sarajevo white wine that complemented the dishes with style and grace. I am pleased to be able to recommend this restaurant with utmost enthusiasm.
We've been here multiple times and it was our brunch staple. They've recently increased prices, which are still reasonable, however multiple things we ordered never came, came out cold, or came very late.
Such a fun Easter brunch! We sat at the bar, our bar tender was great, the whole experience was something new and different. The food was delicious and we had the bar tender just pick and order for us. The restaurant has a great, light, lively, vibe. We highly recommend the whole experience, you won't be sorry!
Outstanding experience from start to finish. Came here with a group during Cherry Blossom festival. We sat on the rooftop which felt like being in a European/mediterranean charming village, beautifully decorated for the Cherry Blossom festival. The food was amazing, the flavors were on point. The staff were friendly and also on point, as soon as we were done one round, they had our next round ready. I highly recommend the unlimited small plates as you get to try most of the menu in one sitting, a unique experience. If you have a little more wiggle room, try desert, which was also very good. We will definitely be coming back.

The food was delicious and came out fairly quickly. I appreciate that considering we came a little later and only got about an hour for the dining experience instead of the usual two. The consistency of service is why I keep coming back.
If you want unlimited food, this is the place. Nice mimosas and good food.

Ambar Capitol Hill exceeded expectations! My wife, a couple of friends, and I indulged in the unlimited dinner and wine, savoring the flavors of the Balkan Peninsula. The variety of dishes was impressive, each packed with unique tastes that delighted our palates. The staff was attentive, embodying the "world-famous Balkan Hospitality" that made us feel right at home. The ambiance added a cozy, inviting touch to our evening, turning it into a truly memorable experience. We’ll definitely be back!

The food at Ambar is excellent! I especially love the little dips you can get- particularly the eggplant one. This is a great place to bring out of town family and have a large gathering (just make sure to make a reservation beforehand). The sheer volume of tapas you can order is great and gives you a little bit of everything.
Dietary restrictions: Many options- just ask your server
