Vegetarian options: The Ravioles with Black Truffle was exceptional. Also enjoyed and shared the beet salad that was plenty for two.

For years, I was an absolute fan of Le Diplomate. It reminded me of the charm of old Europe—Paris, Vienna—something I missed after moving to the U.S. The atmosphere was always inviting, the restaurant beautiful, and the food consistently good. As a bread lover, I was particularly fond of their bread basket. I often asked for a second round because I could never get enough of this delicious treat, made in countless ways over thousands of years.
A couple of weeks ago, my friends recommended a new French restaurant, Amélie. We decided to try it one evening, and what a treat it was! While the ambiance isn’t as old-world European as Le Diplomate, the modern vibe was refreshing. The open kitchen, with the crew moving around preparing dishes, added an exciting touch. But what I truly must highlight here is the food. Every single dish was bursting with flavor, expertly prepared, and utterly mouthwatering.
I was genuinely surprised to find that the food at Amélie surpassed even Le Diplomate and Pastis DC, which I had visited just a few weeks earlier. All four of us—who had visited both Le Diplomate and Pastis together—agreed that Amélie was the winner! The two desserts we shared were also fantastic, and the receipt presented to us in an old French book (ours was a classic Diderot) was a charming and thoughtful detail.
Amélie is now absolutely my go-to spot for exceptional French food, fantastic service, and a fun, lively atmosphere.

Delicious food: had duck breast, monk fish, burger, escargot, pate and rice pudding. Would definitely be back. Sit closer to back if you don't want a draft coming from the front door whenever a guest comes in. Great service and fair prices

I had an amazing experience at Amelie! The food was absolutely delicious, with beautifully crafted dishes that were as flavorful as they were visually appealing. The ambiance is chic and welcoming, making it perfect for a memorable night out.

And a special Thanks to AYCHA , our server, who made the evening even more delightful. Her warm personality, Her Smile attention to detail, and excellent recommendations truly elevated our dining experience. Thank you, Aycha, for your wonderful service!
I recommend this place !

Food was great, but service was frustrating. Waitress didn’t know much about the wine or food options. First wine sommelier was excellent and personable. Food is taken before you’re done with your plate. We ordered a 2nd bottle of wine and he poured that on top of my first glass of wine without any awareness or concern once he was made aware. Portions are small.

This restaurant is an excellent example of fine food at a reasonable price. All the dishes on the specials menu and regular entrees were well prepared and enjoyed by our group. The cocktails and wine selection was excellent as well.

Wheelchair accessibility: Should be accessible, no stairs.

Great food and wine that reminded me of my years living in France, and the entire staff was engaging and friendly. Orea is one of the most delightful people I’ve ever met.

As a French girl I wanted to try this address.
It was pure pleasure from start to finish:
- bread, real bread
- the dishes are delicious
- wines to die for
- caring teams

Well done to the whole team for their professionalism and really don’t change anything!!!!!!

TESTED AND APPROVED!

The wine was good. The brussel sprouts were burnt but ok, and everything else was awful. The coq au vin was bone dry, cold, and utterly flavorless. The tuna tartare tasted fishy - thank goodness we did not get sick.
The service was horrible - waiter ordered a wrong entree but didn't apologize or offer to correct it. When I said I didn't order this, he said "oh, that's what I wrote down" then he pointed at it and said "people like it." And then he walked away.
I could go on.
We live a block away. We won't return.
