Just got the Easter meal delivered today. Ordered it for 5pm delivery -- and it was at our doorstep at 5:02!!!! There was tons of food, and it was all delicious: melt-in-your-mouth brisket, tender pork ribs, moist cornbread, tangy baked beans, smoked mushrooms (sounds odd, but delicious!), cole slaw, a bottle of barbeque sauce...and the best chocolate cake EVER (very moist, huge pieces/slabs). We appreciated the food and the service so very much as we quarantine. Note: the delivery person had on a mask and gloves, which was great for all of us. On top of it all, there was a sweet hand-written message of thanks and Happy Easter on the packaging.

My husband and I only ordered drinks, and they were fantastic. The bartender was friendly and knowledgeable. I removed 1 star because of the bathroom situation. There is 1 toilet which is located right next to the kitchen and the door opens up fairly close to neighboring tables. Not the best choice for a bathroom, in my opinion.

Came to American Eats as a recommendation from BIL as it was on the go tos restaurants in the area. The restaurant is one of the few of Jose Andres in DC area so we decided to give a try. The place had a great rustic southern vibe. We visited the rooftop which has a few tables and a bar area. The cocktail list was extensive and tried a few which were delicious. Now to the stars of the meal. We had several plates to eat as we were sipping our cocktails. My absolute favorites were the vermicelli mac and cheese and the Brussels sprouts. We tried both the crab mac and cheese and the sloppy joe. First time I seen a mac and cheese with this type of pasta and I really liked it. The sloppy joe was sooo saucy and good. The Brussels sprouts were also espectacular. They were crispy and had sweet cranberries incorporated which gave the a nice contrast. We also tried the skillet cornbread which for me was good but was missing something. Service was great and fast. Worth a try if you are in the area.

I don't know if this was a fluke or not, but my brother and I are here tonight and the food was just so BAD. I ordered a burger medium, add pork belly and it was the driest thing on earth. EVEN THE PORK BELLY was dry - never experienced that in my life. I was so starving I ate half of it anyways. Sent back the rest. My brother had the amish chicken, which was so dry it was flaking. Absolutely horrific. To make things better, they charged us for every single thing, which we didn't even bother to dispute. We just wanted to get outta here. Won't be coming back here any time soon

I know this isn't the obvious place to go for vegans/vegetarians, but it's a nice restaurant, and Jose Andrés is a great chef and all his other restaurants are more than accommodating, so I was really surprised that the waiter was standoffish when I asked for suggestions or a copy of the menu that identified options (as all other Andrés restaurants have and happily provide). Instead, they said they couldn't share one, and couldn't even tell me what would work, I'd just have to order and then he'd go verify it with the chef. After that weirdly totally negative experience with the waiter, the food was good, if not amazing, and several of the vegetable plates were easy to be done vegan (brussel sprouts, honey nut squash, parsnips and carrots--actually a little too sweet, grilled asparagus) and my partner got good vegetarian dishes (cheesy grits were very good, but the twice baked potato was undercooked). The chef later stopped by the table to say hello, which I very much appreciated after the waiter's indifference. Unfortunately it caught me off guard so I couldn't think of anything interesting to ask him.

Food was mediocre at best. Frozen fries, small portion of brisket on my sandwich which flavors were below average. Smoked wings were tasty as were the pickles that came with it. Lame beer selection. With the name attached to this place it was really a huge disappointment. But I ate my food and didn't complain. You can do better.

Tasty appetizers, interesting spins on some classic cocktails, and relaxing decor. The place was spacious and the staff were attentive. I enjoyed Andres' take on classic American fare. Worthy spot in Georgetown.

This restaurant is the definition of an "Ok" place. Despite being a José Andrés' venture America Eats Tavern is pretty "meh". It offers average Georgetown prices; expect to pay separately for any side dish like fries or vegetables on entrees such as the "Full Brisket Plate". Around $25-$30 for an entree and a soda. This is the kind of place that doesn't offer anything so good that you will want to go back. You know, it is not bad but it is not memorable either. Even service is "whatever". The staff is courteous in their speak but don't bother making eye contact or smiling. In conclusion, if your favorite ice cream flavor is vanilla then chances are you will like this place.

This restaurant was recommended to us by our AirBnB host and boy am I glad we listened. Just a short walk from where we are staying this chic bar and tavern had THE yummiest food. From the barbecue ribs and roasted Brussels sprouts to the lobster roll to the Cobb salad to my Shrimp and Grits with andouille sausage every bite was delightful. Cold beer on tap and a colorfully painted decor, America Eats Tavern is definitely a place to stop and eat in Georgetown.

Visited for brunch on a Sunday morning. We were seated quickly, and the waitress brought water quickly. We ordered the vermicelli mac and cheese, which came out quickly and was DIVINE. The rest of the meal took forever to come out and was a bit of a letdown in comparison.

Okay meal - disappointing considering other Jose Andres restaurants I have visited. Brisket was flavorful, but all the food was very salty (especially the fries). I would recommend a different Jose Andres restaurant if you're looking for a good meal.

Ok, Ok, Ok. We LOVE this restaurant, the second of Jose Andres' locations that we've been to. The interior is nicely decorated, with references to old-fashioned US food places. The menu is eclectic, with many American specialties, with their sources, listed. All of our food was amazing, especially my pulled pork. Our server was good, especially after my noting my drink didn't taste right (it was bland). He returned with a new drink, noting how different it now looks (he wasn't the bartender). The second version was amazing. We will definitely be back to this restaurant!

You know why this place is getting 5 stars? Because they care and it shows a lot. I'm a big Jose Andrés supporter and have eaten at so many of his locations and spend a pretty penny on some. For those that don't know this location it's in Georgetown, not sure why I assumed deeper in DC (not that it matters, just an FYI). I came here for brunch with no reservation and was seated pretty quickly in the front. The decor is whimsical and has a western road trip vibe from all the high way signs painted on the walls. I ordered the Amish chicken and waffles. During my wait someone in the kitchen staff comes out with cut up pickles, some pecans, and a salted cornbread with butter all on the house apologizing for how long the wait was for the friend chicken. To be honest, I didn't think I was even waiting long, I didn't even think about the wait while I was there and perhaps this was their way of measuring from how long it would take to get the chicken ready. Of course this was a pleasant gesture. I start snacking on the cornbread and it is sweet and salty at the same time. While the cornbread has actual corn inside and a very light sweet taste the top is dusted with thin large salt flakes that resemble ice chips or snow flakes. Eventually the food comes out and the waffle is already glazed with something that resembles a thick honey. It's not your typical maple syrup or even honey. It's a hardened glaze that is lightly sweet. The waffle isn't your typical batter you're prob used to. The taste immediately hits the back sides of your taste buds. I was unfamiliar with what could have been used. The fried chicken skin has a great texture! And inside it's literally completely cooked so you won't believe it but it's so moist it drips. As I'm eating away not thinking of any service issues at all, the chef comes out to the table apologizing for the delay in the fried chicken timing. I didn't know what to say as I didn't have any issue and assured him, "oh no, it's okay, no worries at all foods great!". There really were no issues but I can see that staff here really takes pride in their work. What more could you want. Side note: food here is very IG worthy for the trendy hipsters.

My sister and I are huge Jose Andrés fans, so when she had to choose her birthday meal location she knew she wanted to go to one of his restaurants. In the end, we chose America Eats because it's the only one in DC we hadn't been to, and we're so glad we chose it! To be honest, inside it doesn't look all that exciting like Andrés' Penn Quarter restaurants, and the place was pretty empty which worried me when we arrived. The food and the service more than made up for that. We started with the hush puppies with honey butter. The appetizer comes with 6 corn fritters made up of chunks of corn and small pieces of jalapeño, which gave them a unique savory taste that paired nicely with the honey butter. For our main course, we shared a half rack of baby back ribs and a half pound of brisket. The brisket was a little fatty, but both were delicious. I especially liked the herby, green sauce that came with the brisket. The BBQ comes with rye bread and pickles, so we ordered Brussels sprouts as a vegetable. The chef sent out a cauliflower appetizer for us in honor of my sister's birthday. We thought that would be all, but then he sent out the most delicious chocolate cake with peanut butter ice cream (seriously so good!) and came out to meet us as well. The food was great, and we had a very memorable experience.

This is a cool spot to get something to eat along M Street. When I walked in, I thought the interior design was very unique. I love places that put real thought into furniture, fixtures, and various pieces throughout the establishment. As a result, the ambiance and vibe within the restaurant was pretty cool. As for the food.., I would have to say it was average. I had a burger, fries, and cornbread. The fries could could have been better, the burger was ok, but I thought the cornbread was good.
