I'm a Chicagoan. I found the Italian beef to be ok. It's trying to be more upscale for an Italian beef. I've never had one with carrots, cauliflower, and celery -- that all seemed extra. But the juice and beef itself are good. At $23 for fries and sandwich lunch, it's pricey even by Navy Yard standards. I got 6 long fries for $5. The search for a good messy Italian beef sandwich in DC continues.
A concept created during the pandemic, I’m so glad it’s back inside Shilling Canning Company. Available inside and to go, there are six sandwiches on the menu and a weekend breakfast burrito. Every part of the sandwich is created in house except for raising the animals for the meat.Trying every sandwich at their launch party, every single one was delicious, especially with the housemade buns. However, my favorite was the “Chivito” with beef, ham, bacon, egg, and more....
I ordered from AmperSandwich today for lunch. I'm always on the lookout for a new sandwich joint. Amper did fairly well overall and I ordered two different sandwiches and the fries as well. To start the fries label is misleading there are a potato wedge for sure, but they are an incredibly well done potato wedge. Next up I ordered the pit beef sandwich and the fried chicken sandwich.
