Unique gem among several Mexican restaurants within a few blocks. Anafre offers a refreshing seafood tilt to widely known Mexican fare. Their food is unique, well presented, and super tasty. Their seafood is super fresh. This was our second visit and we loved everything, again. The octopus pizza was delicious and had a generous portion of octopus. I found it super filling with the cheese, veggies, and octopus. Their fish tacos were equally good. Generous portion of fish. The guac has a few pieces of lobster on top. Everything tastes so fresh. Service is friendly and efficient. Will gladly return to try other options on their menu.

My husband loves Mexican cuisine, and my friend who lives in the area recommended this place for our weekend trip to DC. It wasn't packed, so we were seated right away. They had great old school R and B playing, which we really enjoyed. They have a great selection of seafood, which I loved. I ordered the crab and lobster guacamole starter. Two of us had seafod enchiladas, one seafood wrap, and my husband had steak and yucca fries. He said that his steak was cooked perfectly and those were the best yucca fries that he has tasted. The cocktails were well balanced. We had classic, mango, and spicy margaritas. I will definitely go back there the next time that we are in the area!

It was empty for a Friday night, they had no music on, it was so dead. Other restaurants were packed but not this one. The reviews looked good but I dunno about the actual place. I hope they can turn it around since it looked like a nice place.

We booked a table based on reviews only to travel for 30mins in a taxi and find that the place was closed. Nothing to say so on their website and no notification to say they’re closed. In fact they sent a confirmation of our booking. This place looked quite dodgy when we got there. Asked the places next door if they are usually open and they said these guys close as and when they wish letting so many customers down!! I’m wondering is the reviews are even genuine?? We tried calling them and had no response to the call or emails. Don’t waste your time and money going here! We had to get a taxi back and go to another restaurant which was absolutely great in every way! Shame on these guys! Hopeless!

I used to get pizza from there all the time but most recently the service has been the worse service I have ever experienced. Today, I had to go put in my order by foot because no one would answer the phone (yet there were 3 cutsomers only indside). The girl told me it would take 10 minutes. When I come to pick up the pizzas (20 minutes later because they always take longer), she tells me they are in the oven and proceeds to go get a cook from mezcalero.... who starts preparing my pizzas!!!! When I confronted her, in front of the empty pizza oven, she still maintained that my pizzas were IN the oven. Surreal experience and needless to say I won't be going back. It's one thing to make a mistake, another to disrespect people.
The drinks were decent, but completely turned off by them leaving dirty, used glasses on the bar. The liquid from the glasses kept spilling on us. This is completely unsanitary and turned us off from even trying the food.
The bartender was unfriendly, but the waiter/bar back was really nice and he’s the reason I gave this an extra star.

This is a hidden gem! Stopped by for happy hour. The menu offered a good variety of food. The seafood nachos were amazing! Flavorful and cheesy with the right amount of heat. The margarita I ordered was perfect (not too sour, not too sweet). The only downside was the service. It took about 30 minutes to receive my food, in an empty restaurant. When it was time to pay, it took about 30 minutes. After waiting the first 15 minutes, I had to ask the waitress what was the issue. At that time she informed me that their card machine wasn’t working. I waited another 15 minutes for them to continue attempting to troubleshoot. After waiting for so long, I went to an atm to pay them in cash. I would recommend coming here if you don’t have plans afterwards.
