Ok. So. Pre-review heads up: a 22% service charge is included in your order via the QR code on your table. To me this says they care about their own at anxo, as they should. I made the mistake of tipping on top of that tonight but I'm not gonna drag this place because of my mistake. Just be observant y'all. Anyway, picture this: you're listening to the incredible Ologies podcast with Alie Ward and she has a ciderologist on. He shouts out Anxo. 5 months later, we're visiting my family for the first time since Christmas and randomly remember that episode. We look up anxo and go. 1) are the pinxos and tapas only certain times of the year? We only saw pizza and salad on the menu with the ciders. That's literally my only nitpick. We had the islander pizza and the colçotada pizza and bunch of the ciders (6 in total) essentially splitting a flight between us. Everything was lovely and our serve was amazing and so knowledgeable. She was a blast to talk to and the vibe was great. We'll be back for sure.

Lack of respect for customers/ service charge. It has taken several months/ visits to write this review, We live down the street and the neighborhood needs such a restaurant/ bar as an anchor. However, the owners/management simply do not appear to care about customers or the money they spend in this establishment. Customers place orders on Toast Tab (QR code placed on several spots on each table), servers run the food out (sometimes friendly, other times not). You then pay on Toast Tab. It asks you to select a box for a tip/ service charge. You select 20%. It isn't until later down, buried between the subtotal, tax and other fees, that you see that Anxo has already included 22% as a service charge. There is no sign on the table indicating this is the case, "servers" do not mention it and you have to scroll down to see if you just paid 42% to order with an app. After brining this up to the owners' attention and the managers, several months later nothing has changed.

Time & Place may be the best cider I have ever tasted. It blows the other local ciders away by miles.

Best Cider in DC and authentic pinxos and Basque tapas. We loves the variety of ciders and beers, all brewed in location. The gem of the neighborhood!

So my son and I were sitting outside eating ice cream from the place next door (you should go there, too) when a server came out. My son asked what they had and she said pizza. I asked if they had gluten free pizza and she said, "Yes... we didn't at first because we didn't want to sell it if it was going to suck." I waited a few minutes and then went inside and asked, "Are you sure it doesn't suck?" She gave me a smile and nodded. That's all it took. I ordered just a gluten free cheese pizza and it was DELICIOUS. Chewy and amazing, good flavor. Anyway, if you're gluten-free, come grab some pizza!

Mediocre. Only moderate crowd on a beautiful weekend night -- and we can see why! Small pours, mediocre pizza dough, high prices. And! They slip in a 22 percent service charge without informing you before ordering (at least we saw it nowhere posted in front of us on our table, or on the toast website they require you to order from). Won't be returning!

Great atmosphere and even better ciders. So many amazing housemade ciders, collaborations, and even imports. Staff was friendly and responsive. Cozy little outdoor area looked like it would be good for slightly warmer weather.

Preordered a large amount of pizzas for a birthday (25). They were ready on time, delivered to the venue and tasted great. The white pizza had a great amount of garlic, the spicy pizza was actually spicy. I would recommend for an informal party food. I cannot wait to get again.

Soooo I think I may have found my favorite local pizza spot! I was at another store when I was told that I should try the pizza from ANXO. They said the pizza was amazing and so being the foodie that I am, I had to try it for myself. I just placed an order via UberEats and omg the pizza is SO good! I ordered the 12" Margherita Pizza and ANXO pride dry cider. I think it's pretty cool that they make their own cider! Anywho, I high key recommend this restaurant. You won't be disappointed! I had in mind the type of pizza I wanted and they delivered.
