Excellent HH, caviar service was lovely and the presentation was beautiful. Don’t skip the oysters. My server Brian was so kind and helpful. Will definitely return and highly recommend!!

An incredible dining experience we did for my girlfriend's birthday! 6 courses with matching wine or cocktail pairings was absolutely the right move, even if we could hardly move at the end. Would absolutely come back as they rotate the menu!

Went in today for coffee and cake. Asked for crème twice without any success. Didn’t get a spoon to stir in the sugar. Didn’t get the cake I ordered. Appalling Service. Chaotic. Wasn’t the only couple that walked out.
Coffee was awful hence 1 star.
Think not receiving the cake was a lucky escape!

Very fun Edgar Allen Poe experience! The food was delicious and the atmosphere was great. I loved hearing the stories that inspired each dish. I’d love to come back for other themed meals

Very cool Edgar Allen Poe experience but was NOT expecting an over $600 check for two people. We were shocked. A lot of the plates were meh. The service was great. But over $600 is absurd. You need to make the pricing more transparent or be clear that the cocktail and wine experience is separate from the 4-6 course meal experience. It’s per person per experience. We definitely misunderstood and were beyond shocked when we got the bill. Again, cool experience and good service but wow wow wow. BEWARE

Nice ambience, lovely service, but food was surprisingly disappointing. French onion soup was watery and lacked flavor, lamb dish bland with a comical amount of carrots (dish lined with large pieces of carrots), and was red snapper dry and overcooked. Mushroom cigarettes were good but not enough to redeem the meal. Maybe we just ordered wrong but left disappointed and hungry.

Absolutely incredible.
My fiancé and I have been here for the Tolkien and Poe themed dinners.
Both were incredible, and am excited to come back soon to show this place to some friends that will be visiting.
It's astounding they don't have a star yet - Michelin - if you read this - please, give them their damn star!

Our evening at La Boheme was so much fun! We came for the Edgar Allen Poe theme - not sure what to expect. The food was delicious; the cocktails were creative and tasty. Presentation made the evening fun as the wait staff described the connection of each dish and drink to one of Poe’s short stories.

Last week we enjoyed dinner with Edgar Allen Poe. Okay, so maybe not the man himself- but about as close as I could imagine the experience to be. Dark, decadent, and full of surprise. We got to try their seasonal Poe themed menu, and it’s not just dinner- it nears theatre on a plate.
Can’t believe I’m now only reviewing this place, my husband and I love this little gem in the middle of a neighborhood aka away from the typical Georgetown M street and waterfront craziness. We love the wine and cocktails as well as the apps and caviar. I can’t praise the staff here enough, they always make us feel so welcome and we can spend hours at the bar. This place is not like
Any other place in DC and I hope it never changes.

was looking forward to dining at Apero with an out-of-town friend and chose it because it’s in my neighborhood and I’d called ahead to confirm they could accommodate me after a recent foot surgery. I am currently non-weight-bearing and using a knee scooter, so accessibility is essential. I was told they could arrange seating by the street.
When I arrived, there were three outside tables — two standard ones already occupied and one long, high table that was awkward for someone with mobility equipment. Another diner even offered to switch tables, but the staff declined. I was instead told my table was on the patio inside. To reach the patio, there are stairs, which I cannot use without walking on my injured foot. When I explained this, I was simply told “you walk in,” with no alternative route or assistance offered.
I have great sympathy for people with permanent accessibility needs and believe restaurants should be honest about their limitations. If I had been told in advance that the patio was not accessible, I would have understood and simply chosen one of the many other restaurants nearby. Instead, I was left in an uncomfortable spot at the long table, which did not work well with my scooter and limited mobility.
I’ve lived in Georgetown for 15 years, travel frequently for work, and rarely write reviews, but this was disappointing — especially as accessibility should be part of good hospitality. I hope management will better train staff to follow through on accessibility promises and respond with more empathy to guests with mobility needs.

Tiny portions, service could have been better, food tasted good, overpriced. If you get seated under the tent outside there is a large bug zapper that goes off every 5 minutes - annoying.
