We loved Art & Soul! It was Greta for our large group and management was friendly & very accommodating. The servers were great and very helpful. We'd definitely go again! Art & Soul is in a great location to show visitors DC- we took a picture at the capitol! Would love if there was live jazz on Saturday mornings as well!
Love going to this restaurant, but my son was disappointed to find out that they only serve waffles and chicken on weekends.
Was excited to learn there was an Art Smith's restaurant in DC after eating at his Homecomin' in Disney Springs. Went with high expectations, but left disappointed. Everything on the menu sounded good, but the food fell flat. Started with the steak and cheese egg rolls and crab dip. The crab dip was good and crostini perfectly prepared. The egg rolls lacked the flavor and were over powered with a doughy taste and texture. Our entrees were the fried chicken, steak frites and chicken sandwich. Both chicken dishes were overly breaded with tiny pieces of chicken under all the coating. The chicken sandwich after the coating had about three bites of chicken. Sandwich bread was good as were the fries. Steak was very tough. Everything was edible, but nothing stood out. Ended with the warm brownie sundae, which was flavorful and a positive note to end on. Our waiter would disappear for long times which was unfortunate and made for a long meal. Highly recommend his Homecomin' restaurant in Orlando, but this DC restaurant didn't impress.
Came for brunch and the food was good, but they randomly closed early. Overall the service was great.
all four of our brunch meals were fabulous. My friend said that the grilled salmon on her salad was the best she'd ever had.
Loved the food. Menu not extensive but there is enough of a selection. Wait staff was very responsive when asked for something but left our table alone for a long time.
Food took forever to come out, and there were only two of us. Easy orders. Salad and fish.
Jambalaya is a rice based dish. “Seafood Jambalaya” is a rice dish with assorted sausages and shellfish. It is not a dish anchored in penne pasta! There should be no need to read the fine print to see the switch/disclaimer. DO NOT ORDER.
This restaurant was a pleasant surprise! We found it randomly and didn't realize it was in the bottom of the hotel until we pulled up. We went through with our reservation, and it was lovely! The staff was pleasant. The ambience was nice. The food was fantastic!
I've always been a fan of Art Smith from my days of living in Chicago, so when I was looking for a nice restaurant for Valentines Day, I thought Art and Soul would be the perfect place. The restaurant called me twice the week prior to confirm that we were coming, and during both calls I was told there were two menu options... a Holiday pre-fixed menu, and the regular menu. When we showed up to the restaurant, we were pleased. The restaurant was cute, and we had two different servers come over ready to take our order. We were shocked to learn that there was ONLY a pre-fixed menu and it was $100 per person. The food was great. We had amuse-bouche, salad, soup, rib-eye steak, and a dessert. However, after we ordered, we never saw a server again. No one ever asked us how our food was. We never had anyone refill our wine glasses. It was like they took our order, and then they disappeared. The food runner was the only other person from the restaurant we saw the entire time. We had to wave someone down to even request the check. The experience was awful considering what we spent. We will not be going back.

We booked reservations through OpenTable for 1:45pm on a Saturday. After we trudged through the heat to get there, we were told they cut off brunch orders at 1:30, and our only option would be to sit at the bar for "bar bites," which we declined. Big waste of our time because Art and Soul couldn't be bothered to update their OpenTable profile...
Located close to all places of interest in the city. Good service, very comfortable facilities and quality food.

It is an interesting concept hotel. Minimalist design. Beds were good. Clean and climate control also good. Huge failures in staffing and training. We called mission control about a blow dryer. Informed that house services would bring one up. House services called a half hour later to explain where it was. You would think. Mission control would know. Then we went and had breakfast in the hotel. I ordered lemon blueberry pancakes off the menu and my girl friend ordered the farmers breakfast. The food came quickly. I got pancakes. I asked where the blueberries where and I was told I ordered lemon pancakes. TOLD. THEY ONLY HAVE LEMON BLUEBERRY ON THE MENU. Treated like it was my fault. Then told the brunch menu and the breakfast menu where different. Total b.s. No apologies and no we will make it right. Either from server or Manager. Cold buffet pancakes. Then we put them on the room to get the $10 discount since our room $340 a night did not come with breakfast. At checkout no discount. Told it's only the day before food not day of. Really. We left dissatisfied. But the person checking is out came out later in the parking lot and apologized. Run away do not stay it eat there.

The overall meal and experience for brunch was okay. It wasn’t anything extraordinary, but it did the job. We couldn’t find our server to order another drink, and were instead provided the bill when he did finally come back to check on us. I did like the light music from the band in the background, but it is a place where sound carries quite a bit.
