This is my all-time favorite neighborhood cafe. The owners remember everyone who comes in and greet them warmly. The coffee is excellent, the atmosphere is warm and cozy, the food options are perfect for breakfast and lunch, and the food itself is made fresh and tastes delicious. I love having this place in my neighborhood!

Stopped in here on a whim, so wasn’t expecting much. But the shop & courtyard are very cute and cozy! Ham & Egg croissant was delicious and the iced caramel latte was great as well. Will definitely return next time I’m in DC. Everyone behind the counter was really nice as well.
PS not a ton of seating but there were empty spaces when I went on a Thursday morning

Au Lait is the perfect neighborhood cafe! The food is great, as are the drinks. Majid, Salim and all the staff are so friendly and take great care of customers. A fantastic place to people watch on the patio or get some reading or work done inside. Love it!!!

I’m visiting from Detroit. I haven’t had any coffee yet, after walking around DC all day my friends wanted to keep exploring so I desperately needed a caffeine boost. I love that they serve ILLY coffee. The latte was smooth & amazing, the owner Majeed was awesome to talk to and had GREAT service. 10/10 recommend this place the lattes have 3-4 shots of espresso, taste is great and had me wired. Love it!
