Great food! Service was fast and quick. Everyone in the restaurant seemed happy with the food. We enjoyed the spicy dishes and couldn’t get enough!
Excellent I every way. The food and service were outstanding. We hit it early enough for happy hour specials on sushi and drinks which was an added bonus.
Come upstairs for this authentic tasty northern Thai style restaurant. The pepper heat is tamed down. So don't be afraid to ask for it to be raised. Many creative regional dishes not typically found in standard Thai restaurants. Good value and service. Glad we tried this place before it moves east of Gallery Place on 4th Street.
This was the best Thai food I've ever had. It puts others to shame. Five of us had a variety of excellent dishes.
I'm obsessed. I bring all my friends here. It's one of the only restaurants I can eat at with all my food sensitivities and tastes amazing. Seems very authentic with very fresh ingredients. Did I mention I'm obsessed?
Very good authentic tasting Thai food. Most of the items on the menu are quite spicy. Sushi was also surprisingly good (I come from Europe where sushi is usually not associated with Thai cuisine). What could be improved was the seating and ambiance which were a bit crowded and rustic. Not a place I would choose for a cosy romantic dinner, but great for a meal with friends and family.
This place is incredible. Great staff, incredibly flavorful and delicious dishes, AFFORDABLE. Top choice - one of the best Thai restaurants I've ever been to in the states.
Authentic and delicious Thai food in a hole In the wall setting - and spicy really does mean spicy here
We were actually here during our summer holidays in 2018. True thai food, non nonsense restaurant. We went 2 times during our 5 day DC stay. I really recommend a visit. The kids loved it and are still talking about this thai!
One of the only places that respects your order. You know when you go to a Thai place and you order spicy food and you get it and it's barely spicy? This place doesn't play. Order up. Order big. Ask for extra napkins cause your nose will run. This is also a great place to start from the Pad Thai or Green Curry. Go crazy and order something different; you'll enjoy it.

Believe the ratings. This very casual Thai is darn good with regional specialties identified as such. My wife and her firent were Peace Corps Thailand, so they are tough customers. They lived it. You will too.
Actually a 3.5.
This place is nothing really special about Thai foods. I tried authentic Thai foods in Bangkok and compared to that, these foods are just okay. I prefer to have traditional Thai foods and can't imagine that they don't serve Pad Thai, Tom Yum soup, and even Papaya salad. A bit disappointed. So, if you want to try something different than "normal" Thai foods, this place is not bad at all.
One of the best Thai places in DC. Good, no, great prices only surpassed by the taste of the food. It's in a good location, with a great staff and good atmosphere
My husband and I were in the DC area for a conference and decided to try something within walking distance of our hotel. We both really enjoy Thai food and saw Baan Thai just a block and a half from where we were staying (the Westin). Overall, the food was delicious - we enjoyed the sushi, chicken red curry with winter melon, and tuna tartar - and the service was wonderful. Our only complaint was that it was loud (we couldn't hear each other talk over the other guests). Perhaps some noise dampeners on the walls would provide some improvement in this respect?
