The bagels here are great. The staff is extremely warm and friendly, and it's just a good vibe with all the people baking, focused at work, and still friendly and social.

It's a perplexing store. I don't understand why there are boxes piled up in the store. I lived here for months before realizing the store was open – the boxes and random stuff made me think it was closed. I don't understand it.

But the bagels are truly great.

The cake pops are delicious and the nova lox is my go to bagel sandwich but as of recently the store just seems to keep adding more and more stuff inside.I mean refrigerators in the lobby and lots of clutter. Its feels like they’re out growing the space that they’re in, and I understand that they’re in prime real estate ( being in front of the zoo ) but it’s not some little cafe where you can enjoy a cup of coffee with friends. It’s definitely a “get your stuff and go” kind of place.

Snacks were good. Prices are on the high side. Panda cake pops were almost $7 each. Raspberry cake was good. Black and white cookie didn’t have much flavor. Nice place to stop for a special treat before the zoo.

Delicious, chewy bagel! Great prices considering they're across the street from the zoo. I definitely would recommend checking out and grabbing something before you go in

My daughter and I got a raspberry bar and a toasted bagel with cream cheese and both were delish!!! My picky teen daughter’s eyes widened with surprise and delight when she bit into the bagel lol, so I knew that was a good sign! Small place with a few tables inside and out. Would be nice if they cleared out some of the bookcases to make room for more seating. We were visiting an embassy but this bakery happens to be right across from the Zoo so that would be a great place to visit from here as well.

I was charged $7 for a panda cake pop. Nowhere near the panda pop or the so called menu by the cashier was there a price for these panda pops. All I saw was cake pop $3.50 and nothing else. Was not even that good. Unfortunately, I only found out after I got into my car and I looked at the itemized receipt otherwise would not have purchased a $7 cake pop. That’s just too much.

We crossed the city to have breakfast at this place because we saw it recommended on a blog. But our experience was pretty bad. The initial attendant was very helpful and polite, but the baguette we ordered was cold, extremely hard and impossible to eat. We asked for it to be warmed up so we could eat and another attendant informed us that it was not possible to heat it up as we had already bitten into it. The question is: how would we know it was impossible to eat if we didn't bite into it? The attendant had no interest in solving anything and didn't care about the condition of the product. I had already made the payment and was so disappointed that I said I didn't want the baguettes or the drinks anymore. The first attendant offered us new warmed baguettes, which were a little softer, but were still very hard, I believe due to the cold (-2°). I still don't understand the advantage of selling cold, hard baguettes, especially since a few days earlier in NY we visited two bakeries and the breads were served warm.

REPLY TO THE COMPANY'S RESPONSE: I tried to reply to your response, but for some reason this is not possible. So I'm editing this text:
1. You have got to be kidding us! NO!! You don't recognize when you make mistakes, so much so that there is a series of complaints here on Google and you are experts in creating excuses for the terrible service you offer.
2. At no point was it asked if we wanted the bread toasted. We paid for the bagel and it was immediately placed in a paper bag. Only a crazy person would order iced bread in intense cold weather.
3. Interestingly, you thought it was disgusting that Customers asked for the bread to be warm (which is obvious anywhere in the world). You should be ashamed of offering iced bread on a day with a temperature of -2°C. There was a lack of zeal, affection and dedication in service. Honestly, I didn't know that it was a habit for the local population to eat iced bread in winter (I admit, it's kind of funny).
4. It is stupid to claim that there was a failure in communication due to the language. In fact, I don't speak English, but my son is fluent and even certified in the USA, so stop this ridiculous talk of wanting to blame the customer for the joke that was the service.
5. I emphasize that the 1st attendant was polite, yes, but the girl who came to assist us when we requested that our food be in suitable conditions for a human being was extremely inelegant and didn't even pay attention to what we were saying, she simply said that there was no way to heat it . So this is how you work? Do they make a living selling cold bread in a harsh winter? How frustrating!
6. Lastly, you didn't do me any favors when you offered me two new bagels (which came between lukewarm and cold). We paid for 5 bagels and they were all unfit for consumption.
If you refused to heat it, obviously you had an obligation to EVERYONE I paid for. Ah, About my 1 star review, I was actually wrong, after all you don't deserve any. In addition to all the embarrassment with our breakfast, you still have the courage to lie in a public comment... what a level🙄

Amazing staff!! Went by a few days ago and the staff were super helpful in answering my questions as a first-time customer. I could tell they were busy coordinating deliveries and making things run smoothly, but they were all super friendly and polite. One of the best experiences I’ve had at a DC bakery! Would recommend for the staff alone!! I got some amazing bagels, coffee, and vegan baked goods. All deliciously out of this world!
